I am a Hawkeye fan but i don't like their starting lineup. Steulke and O'Grady style of play is almost same and they shine the most in the post. So if 1 of them is posting, the other one is on the perimeter and they are a liability there 'cause they are not a perimeter threat which gives the opponent team a chance to double team other player or to constraint the defense on the inside..

yes the starting line up is a problem. Not sure why Jan is stuck on using it. subs after 2 minutes shows she is trying to get somthing to work. Hanna at the 4 is a mistake. she should only play the 5

..could it be that Indiana is underrated.. they beat #24 Stanford, #18 Baylor, Penn St. by 15 @Penn St., beat Wisconsin by 31, held the #1 UCLA to 73 pts. in a 11 pt. lost, now #23 Iowa @Iowa falls.. to be honest.. I have no idea why they were considered the underdog in this game. Indiana is 4-1 in the Big Ten with their only Big Ten lost to #1 UCLA ... they are still unranked. Respect!

I wonder how many open 3 looks Iowa let Indiana take. It just looked like shooting practice after a while. Iowa desperately needs to find their defense. They looked lost at times, especially with giving up wide open 3 point shots. Garzon had 5 uncontested 3's going into the 4th period.

If Hannah is unable/unwilling to dribble drive from the top of the key, she needs to play low post. The Indiana defense just drops off of her when she is at the top of the key.

Hey Jan. This is the correct starting lineup for the Nebraska game. But I know you are stubborn and set in your ways. 1. Lucy Olsen 2. Aallyah Guyton 3. Taylor McCabe 4. Ava Heiden 5. Addison O'Grady Do not sub anyone out for first 5 minutes. Then only sub out Guyton for Taylor Stremlow. See how well these play together. Having the twin towns (Heiden/O'Grady) will stop Nebraska at the basket. After the first quarter, you can sub out anyone you want. but do not put Hanna Stuelke at the 4. She has to play the 5.

Any comments on Iowa's 3 point shooting or lack of? I was surprised. I am a fan of Iowa but after watching the first quarter I did not think they would win this game. Poor shooting, poor passing and an apparent lack of urgency. I like your team and Guyton playing with Olsen. And any comments on Stuelke? - I get the impression she has lost some confidence.

they were better last year. seriously 2025 hasnt been good to them but honestly i think they should play more of the team and not just the few that always play. theres like 4 or 5 girls that almost never play and now would be a good time to put them in more cause what theyve been doing isnt working. by the 4th quarter these girls are worn out and tired from running and shooting so much. thats when you should replace most of them with girls who are just sitting down waiting to play. you have them for a reason and you dont even know what that reason is

Exactly. That play can't be legal in basketball, or you have chaos. Did the fans know what happened, and why the technical was called? Did the coach know? If the Iowa coach knew what happened and was still as angry as she was, that's ridiculous.

Or maybe the players aren't better than their competition. Y'all complained last year that CC only had 3* recruits helping her and all of a sudden this season all their player are supposedly great or something? Iowa is still a developing program that simply had a generational talent in CC. Coaching isn't the problem, they just aren't that good.

the coach isnt bad i mean they only lost 4 games and all were just by a few points. i think the problem is shes just stuck in 2024. its a new year and this year will continue to suck for them if she doesnt put more players in

They aren't really that good. If she play more players and they still lose y'all will still call her a bad coach. The real problem is they don't have a lot of great players against the competition that they are facing. Their next recruiting class is an improvement tho.

The announcers never said anything, and I'm wondering if Iowa fans know who Guyton is? The IU radio guy said that her Dad was at the game. He was texting with A.J. The fact that such a famous Indiana player has a daughter that is playing for Iowa should have been a part of the story of the game.

that the coach doesnt put some of the others in i think. youll notice by the 4th quarter most of the same players are in that started. they get worn out and tired from running and shooting so much. shots they easily make in the beginning of the game they easily miss later on cause the coach wont put in new players that just sit there for 2 hours

Jan Jemsen is a terrible coach. Lisa B was an average coach, but thanks to CC, she gets credit for Goin to the finals back to back. Iowa has always been mid-average team.
