Hey I just inherited the 1951 BSA 250 C11. I rode freestyle motocross professionally for over 5 years but I have no idea what so ever about this bike. How do I start it? Does it run on straight unleaded fuel? What is the oil canister on the right side of the bike for? What is the value of such a bike from a collector's worth?

Hi well done they’re a lovely bike .. the oil tank on the right is the oil feed for the engine. How to start it :: unleaded fuel e5 preferably To start it:: you may have to clean the carb bowl etc Make sure the battery is charged or it won’t run its a coil ignition so it needs a charged battery The battery is charged via the Dynamo And the voltage regulator under the seat Ok assuming all that’s done Tanks clean etc No choke Turn the switch on on top of your forks The ammeter will move to the centre Fuel on Tickle the carb until fuel leaks out of the carb bowl Give it a few kicks it should kick in These bikes do wet sump So you may have to drain the oil off under the engine 👍👍

@@-old-school-motorcyclesltd legend! Thankyou 🙏 So what engine oil should I put in the canister for the engine? When I turn the switch above the folks, should it indicate AUX, L, or H. The gage seems to sit in the middle regardless of where the switch indicates.
