@@justmark1976 I'm an American MotoGP fan who has never watched BSB before but came across this clip. I agree with you entirely, Brookes spun up the rear and caught it, when he did the front unloaded causing the crash. I argue that there wasn't even contact between the two! Even if there where it wasn't enough to cause the crash. It's a bad call to give such a harsh penalty of so many points against his license. @JayGee69963 жыл бұрын
If you watch it at 0.25 speed you can see the crash happens mainly because Josh gives it beans and his back end comes out, he likely then backs off the throttle which is what unsettles his bike and makes him fall off. If Andy wasn't there he'd have had more room to correct it but at the same time if Andy wasn't there Josh wouldn't have give it a handful of gas. Definitely not a race ban imo, not even close.

When I saw this live I personally thought it was a bit optimistic for Irwin to try and pass at that corner, considering Brookes wasn't all that wide, not that I'm defending Brookes because he has previous (see Cadwell and Mallory Park incidents). I can also see from the point of Stuart Higgs (race Director) for saying it was avoidable, as Irwin seemed to be able to pass at 3 other parts of the track without causing another rider to crash.

Not true, Irwin crossed into Brookes' line, watch in slo-mo from 0:27. Just before he shows Brookes a wheel his suspension is actually pumping and he's not "totally in control". As he crosses in front of Brookes, Brookes lifts, and his suspension starts to pump, which causes his elbow to hit Irwin and then go down.
