ICAR exam is conducted at national level. It is Online mode exam, 150 questions, 600 max marks. If you score minimum 350, there is a high chance of getting seat in Karnataka ICAR colleges (Bengaluru and Raichur). Icar exam is advantage for Non agri background students. There is 15% seats are reserved for ICAR students only. Try to score 350+, your chances increases. Even KCET also enough for non agriculture background students, but their score in board and KCET must be very high. Anything under 3000 rank would be enough to get seats without agriculture quota... See, process goes like this If 100 students apply for BSc agri, based on their rank (below 5000 for GM, 10000 for reservation category) get seats. If they have agri quota, 50 seats out of 100 should be given to them. Remaining 50 seats will be shared between GM, OBC, PH, Ex defense, Defense, Special category, govt employee sons. So If you score 140 in PCB, You will have high chance of getting a seat.

ICAR exam is similar to any national level examinations (JEE/NEET) ICAR helps you get into national level BSc agriculture colleges (even IARI). KCET is a substandard entrance exam for Engineering, Veterinary science (NEET:15% seats, KCET 85% seats), BSc farm science. As you know 60 questions will be asked from each subject (PCMB). There's no negative marking. Seats will be distributed based on your Rank and category in each stream (Eng, Vet, Farm, Pharma). After KCET exam you will have to verify your documents (Attested by Gazetted officer) and select the courses and colleges that you would like to join. You can select maximum courses and colleges. 4 rounds of counselling will be seen. ICAR is an online mode exam. Conducted for 600 marks. 150 objective type questions and each correct response carries four marks and wrong attempt deduct one mark. Duration 2 hours and 30 minutes. Subjects: PCM/PCB/PCA (A:Agriculture) Subjectwise questions: P: 50, C:50, B/M/A: 50

Of course you can take BSc agriculture through KCET exam only. If your parent's source of income is from agriculture land, you can apply for agriculture certificate in thahashildar office, and you can Correct your KCET application form (July 19th to 22nd) If you don't come under this, you can simply write KCET and get agriculture seat! So don't worry

Dairy science is also a branch of farm science. To get seat in this course, you will have to crack KCET with minimum 140 marks. Procedure to get admission for this course will be similar as other farm science courses. Hope you have watched the video (bsc agriculture)

Many of my students have agriculture land and even their parents are in government job. As the source of income is mainly from government job, agriculture quota is not possible for such students. You can score maximum in KCET and you ve opportunity to get agri seat without agriculture quota.
