This is probably the first reaction video that goes into actual detail, showing how complex the abuse is. Starts with mori, affects dazai and yosano. Dazai abuses Akutagawa which causes Akutagawa to mistreat Higuchi and abuse Kyouka. The abuse chain is so long and complex so I award you for being the first person to accurately put this in a reaction video! Especially including higuchi’s pain, the way you included how Tachihara feels about the loss of his brother, and also how complex Chuuya’s situation is where he cannot defy mori due to himself being manipulated etc. I definitely felt strong emotions while watching so I’ll definitely watch this over and over 😭😭❤️

TYTY!!! I feel like the quality of my videos in the last couple months have had a rapid improvement and part of that is making sure all the characters have the spotlight, especially with Ranpo because he's such an interesting character but no one ever uses him unless it's to explain something,,, But yes, the full cycle is very special to my heart and I have literally nEVER seen anyone include Higuchi so I took it into my own hands lmao

Sorry you interpreted it that way but that isn't what happened. For one, Akutagawa wasn't babied, people still condemned his actions, same goes with Dazai. And the fact is that whilst Akutagawa's treatment is harsh and abusive with Higuchi, it isn't to the same level of how Dazai treated Akutagawa. Generally in the fandom I wouldn't compare them and say one had it worse than the other, it's simply how I think the characters would see it. Because it *is* the mafia, it's not going to be a kind place and the characters would understand that. I think people in this fandom do baby Akutagawa and Dazai a lot, it is a real issue, however that isn't what I was doing.

I really like talking about the cycle in bsd because it’s so incredibly complex. Like in the stuff shown there are many similarities between people but there are also differences. Also there are a lot of people who are involved in the cycle of abuse that aren’t talked about a lot like Q, Higuchi, Gin, and Kouyou. And their story’s are really important. I could go on about the stuff behind everyone but I’m not going to because it would become a whole essay if I did

Honestly the abused cycle put different type of things that a person does when they get abused. ( Ps.. um I think I made it long- lmao, good vid btw! ) Dazai, yasano, kyouka -> hates them Akutagawa & Higuchu -> blames themselves Yasano was saved early. But you can't deny that the effects is still there. She's still Unhinged -> Doesn't do what they did but attained a bit of their personality. Dazai was saved a bit late. He had already done akutagawa wrong. -> Does the same thing that was done to them. ( But unlike Mori who still wants dazai to be attached. Dazai doesn't want aku to be attached to him. ) Akutagawa, knew what he did was wrong. Because unlike dazai he still have some humanity in him. -> Does the same thing but asks for forgiveness -> genuinely don't know they're hurting someone. ( That's mostly because his abusive to her is not him doing what dazai does. But him not wanting help. Which is an effect of the abused he experience tbh ) Now another thing. ( Just observation ) The reason why dazai doesn't ask for forgiveness & the reason why aku does. It's because of the effects. • Dazai hates his abuser while aku doesn't. - dazai would not want mori to apologize to him. Because he knows Mori fcked him up. And because he knew he fcked up akutagawa, he didn't apologize because it would feel wrong. ( and hypocritic which is why I don't do it too ) - Akutagawa wanted praise & recognition. He would be happy if dazai apologize and would probably forgive him ( on more reason why dazai should not apologize). So he apologize to kyouka because that's what he wants with himself. Reason why dazai should not apologize - he will be forgiven easily, which would make him relieved. He doesn't deserve that, he needs to know what he done is fcked up and have to live with that guilt forever. ( It's human nature to feel relieved when forgiven because it seems like it didn't affect them much ). - It's hypocritical "What he did to you was unforgivable. " - dazai said to atsushi about the headmaster. Another reason why I think he thinks he doesn't deserve forgiveness Also love how you didn't include chuuya. Cuz yes, he was hurt by dazai leaving. And he was manipulated to join. But dazai genuinely cared for him. And him leaving was something he didn't expect and also was just him finally getting out of a toxic environment. ( Chuuya likes the mafia life. And / only headcanon / he didn't want him to give that up just for him to be happy. And he knew he'd stay if chuuya wanted to stay. So he left without saying anything. So that both of them can be at peace. Only separately )

Mori’s ability is actually not creating what he’s attracted to actually, she is just a combination of his regrets. So since she turned more childish he regrets what he did, but he can’t say or show how he feels because of his job. This is in know way defending him for what he did, it’s just I feel deep down he doesn’t want to do all this but feels like he has to, to keep his job. Like in the beast manga Mori works at an orphanage showing if he didn’t choose the path he did he would have been able to be a father figure like he wished to.

Uhh literally multiple characters sympathised with Akutagawa in this and I wouldn't say Dazai is as bad as Mori by a longshot. He also isn't a good person, I'm aware of that..which is why that wasn't stated in this video. Simply sympathised with his situation. Like every other character. Dazai is my favourite so it may be a little more focused on him..because it is MY video..but if you bothered to read the disclaimer you would of seen that I plan to make more in depth videos for each character and what they went through. Including Akutagawa.
