BSF jawan shot near Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was shot near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Kamalpur sub-division in Dhalai District of Tripura on September 9. The jawan, identified as B Arun Dileep of the 105 battalion, was shot at around noon when he was stationed near the Amtali Border Outpost (BOP).
Dileep was shot on the left side of his chest after which he was rescued by his fellow BSF personnel who rushed him to Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later shifted to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for further treatment. The doctor on duty at the hospital confirmed the incident and said that the jawan was shot from the front and the bullet went out his back.
As per reports, Dileep was shot as a result of an attack from across the border in Bangladesh. However, details regarding the incident are still unclear. Police have begun an investigation and further details are still awaited.
