Very good comparison 👍. 1. Will a "-MS" cartridge work in a standard pencil? I see several nice, bent tip options that are only "-MS" -- no non "-MS" counterpart (e.g. RT 3XMS). 2. What is a measuring tip? (e.g K1101) 3. When would a non-wetting tip (NW) be useful?

1. I would suspect it would, though I havnt tried it. The main difference is higher temperature stability and proper grounding of the tip as required by IPC-STD-001 and MIL-STD-2000. MS = Mil-Spec. Used for Process Control and EOS/ESD Control respectively. 2. It is for measuring and calibrating the station temperature (offset feature in the sw menu). Also used for process control. 3. I believe these may be useful for special applications where you only wish to transfer heat. Also as solder doesnt wet to the tip the tiny tip will not change its shape due to solder. Hope that was useful.
