RF over fibre is an amazing technology and widely used in in-tunnel radio distribution systems for cellular and emergency services. More recently they are moving over to digital systems which send up to 300MHz of radio spectrum using CPRI encoding over a single 10Gbit fibre connection. One underground rail network I designed had over 500 multi-band remote units driven from head ends up to 40km away delivering LTE and TETRA communications - the only issue you have is round trip delays as fibre is 30% slower than a radio signal.

Just curious, what type of transmitter was used (hybrid or digital) and what power did you have the TX set to?

These were SMQVs Digital Hybrid at 100 mW.

Is this compatible with A20 Nexus? If so which frequency range?

RF Over Fiber systems like those made by BSRF, Wisycom, RF Venue, or Professional Wireless are compatible with any receiver including the A20 Nexus. The BSRF system shown here has a frequency range of 470 to 800 mHz.

Yes, the standard PSC Sharkfin antenna did drop out quite a bit after about 500ft. But with the BSRF Fiber kit we were able use the same antenna to go so much further without experiencing any significant loss.
