That whole experience with the centurion is amazing. He loved his servant at home. It was his desperation for his servant that opened his heart to the possibility of a creator who could help him. He was a centurion. He had no business talking to a Jewish rabbi or teacher. He was like the reverse of the Jericho effect Jesus used on the woman at the well. Jesus went knowing He was going to have to tear down the walls enclosing her to get His bride but the Father worked in this centurion before Jesus knew to tear down the walls. With the woman at the well He had to point out the filthy rags and convince her to strip down just to say I’ve seen where your body’s been and how it’s hurt your heart but I love you and in a moment she was clothed in righteousness with eyes to see and had left everything behind to run and get heavenly wealth. In a moment the Lord did an eternal thing that it takes men years to teach each other to do in the natural and then here comes this centurion with his rags in his hands and says I have nothing to hide. I admit I’m filthy but you’re a kind and powerful man and at your command the world rearranges itself or your army moves what I can’t see but I see. God is amazing.

Yes! In the Kingdom, faith precedes understanding. Brilliant. This is articulated so well. It’s not just the initial faith when you’re born again. it’s a process of growing in faith for the believer which allows growth in understanding. How does faith grow?
