I grew up in Rochester NY, so these guys were legends. Matt Field lived in Canandaigua near me and he would always report on his trips downstate riding with Barker and how sick his style was. This brings back so many great memories. When SHUT started that's all I rode: Street Posse, Shark, Assault Vehicle, Jeremy Henderson. Barker Barrett's first pro model was with SHUT. Graphic of going off a launch ramp with a grocery cart. Never got a chance to ride one but that was the BEST deck shape of all next to the SHUT Zoo York model. The deep concave tails were epic. In 1989 I got to compete at the Brooklyn Bridge for an ESA contest. Was a dream come true for a kid from the sticks.

Damn TG! Tugging at my heart strings with this one! Dude is OG! As a kid around his age living in NJ we would sk8 NYC every weekend and it always started at the BB. SHUT was like a legend/unicorn. You ALWAYS heard stories. Even finding one of their boards to ride in a shop was a mission - I kid you not, we heard the story about the Harlem Banks he tells in this episode from someone we hooked up with at BB. I have been scouring the web forever with ANY Harlem Banks info and it's not there.....he WAS there! Cannot wait for part 2! Keep the goods coming - drop more episodes please!

True you had to really live down I the LES or see guys that road for them. I had a BB shut board and a shark shut board. They were heavy hard boards but it was like having something special.
