One neat thing to point out about Rusty is that most of the time when he's winning that it's not even through Dark Phoenix, which is his initial goal, but instead it's his solid play with Ammy/Morrigan, especially such a heavy rushdown team like Angelic's. Really good set!

These are two of my favorite players, but I considered Rusty to be the underdog in this match. I figured Angelic would take it but Rusty would make him work. Boy was I wrong. Rusty really showed that this team does not revolve around Jean.

Rusty played incredibly smart in this set. It's rare to see a player make good use of all the strengths on his team. I think the real reason why Angelic lost was because there was no TRUE threat, in that Rusty's entire team and game plans were all equally menacing.

Angelic was a bit on autopilot: getting hit with that counter constantly. Rusty was on point with the counters and I like his Morrigan philosophy: since he can't control the space all the time because of no missiles, he instead just chases you down and forces you to take the chip and fall back to the ground.

you see, his strategy was to win the first matches with phoenix so that his oponent focuses on her. then, he wins with morrigan when no one is suspecting since its his best character.

People tend to be a lot more hesitant when playing against teams w/ Phoenix in the back, but Angelic stayed on him, I give him props for that. Even so, those counters made him slow it down a bit w/ Wolverine GGs to both players, though I honestly despise dealing with Morrigan & Phoenix respectively. On the same team though? Wish I knew what Angelic was thinking through this set

While he did play smart and clean, I still can't fully respect Rusty's team because of dat Jean Grey. I am glad he wasn't like ChrisG's Morrigan though.
