I went to my first rave in 1995. The music was good, but this magical thing happened around 1998 and the music just suddenly became epic. The most listened to albums in my huge arsenal of electronic music all span from 1998-2002. I had friends who didn't like trance, so I'd introduce them to BT, Perfecto Presents and the GU's from Dave Seaman, John Digweed, Sasha Paul Oakenfold. Even my hard core house headz couldn't deny the epic talent of these incredible trance/progressive trance producers and dj's. And yes, those of you who didn't experience electronic music on the dance floor until 2010 or later, you really did miss out, and my heart aches for you. By that time, dubstep had spread like a cancer to almost every club and it became much more difficult to find any semblance of quality 4-on-the-floor or breaks anywhere. I'll never forget going to see Orbital in Seattle in 2012...and they played dubstep. I...just couldn't anymore. I've barely been to a club since :(

I remember in 2000. I was passed out at my computer. I remember being woken up by Jan's vocals. I couldn't even believe the amazing sound I was hearing. Instantly hooked. Went out and bought MISL the next day.
