I used a giant loop Great Basin (zip style) for a 2-year ride in MX and Central America. Unfortunately, due to rain I had to get rid of some items from water damage. I prob should have removed all my items and set them out to dry after every rain but finding the time can be difficult on the road and unpacking everything not only takes time but exposes you to leaving something behind. They included interior dry bags, which I used, and they worked OK for light short exposure to rain/weather. In wet climates, I now use hard cases and for dry environments, I consider the giant loop. I give them the highest marks for making a tough and durable product tho.

I too hit heavy downpours and bordered tornados, with the inner liners in my Siskiyou Panniers all my items stayed dry, although I have not used the Great Basin, the kit I used all stayed dry with the exception of my tank bag (I did not have the liner in it in one of my storms).

Was directed here from GL site. Very helpful! Was thinking of getting a Columbia, but now think a Tillamook and a Rogue (or two) is a better option. Thanks! And I like your channel! Subbed! Thanks!
