As someone who has started a channel, I can definitely say you’re right about the fact you need to make videos about what interests you and that you have to stay true to your beliefs and values. The views will come from the like minded people that, (as you said) enjoy listening to you talk about things your knowledgeable about. I’ve followed your channel since around 2018 or before and it’s had major impact on me in terms of my choice of vehicles. Your reviews and honesty is what made me decide to go with a ford for my first and second trucks. Both were have been great trucks. This is why I follow you, trust you, watch all your videos and share your videos. I watch them with my dad also. I own a pre-covid lol 2021 Jayco White Hawk 32KBS that I full time in on my parents 5 acres. They've owned every RV make and model and type you can imagine and built a barndominium about 5 years ago. But if Furrion/Lippert happen to toss you another AC Chill Cube please think of me and my never-ending battle with this horrible Furrion AC unit that never works on my Jayco. I can't find any info/prices about the Cube anywhere. I know YT can get tough but you're amazing, don't forget that JD!! ❤ from Washington state!

You are so right. I am a KZbin creator for 3 years now. I only have 196 subscribers. Of course, my content is what is the issue. I'm a former minister that talks about current events and how they relate to the Bible. It seems that some creators get massive followings by producing junk. I enjoy your videos although I am not currently an RV owner, I used to own a 1972 Ford Class B. It was enjoyable and I watch your reviews to gather some information because, maybe, I'd like to get on the road. I appreciate your openness and being frank on issues. I myself was raised the same, never thought that I was important enough. I would like my channel to grow not for the financial gain, but to spread the Gospel to my viewers. Thanks again.

Can't agree more with this. I started my KZbin channel finally because of you and KYD. I've told you enough you have been a big influence on my family so much that we bought the chaparral and then your concept Brookstone. I've looked over other KZbin channels to see how they cover topics. What people ask about in their comments in order to help make my own content. While searching other peoples comments, I've seen that other people want you to do your channel their way and when you don't they criticize, attack you, belittle, and make comments that are obviously opinionated, but they pass it off as a fact. Crazy how other people want to control how people do their business or channel and the things they are willing to say. I've read comments that even made me say "yeah if I was JD I wouldn't show my face either," there are some true d***heads in the comments sometimes.

I hear you. I too talk about things most people don’t care about. Regarding sponsorship, you did make a Dodge Ram video a few months back that was suspect, as you really praised the truck and not once mentioned the payload, which I suspect was like 1200 pounds. Seemed really odd as you tend to harp on those types of things (in a good way).

I'm sure the payload was mentioned in one or more of the videos.. I rarely forget that info. Also, there would be no reason for me to not include it. Auto Manufacturers don't sponsor or pay reviewers anything.. they don't ask or even push for good reviews. They are usually the most "quiet" when it comes to how reviewers can position their vehicles. They just want both pros and cons to be in the same videos.
