I always thought it was tough on Tim Harvey here getting docked two maximum scores for failing that noise test (his Team mate Ray Belm astutely moved over to avoid getting the same penalty). Funny thing is if it wasn't for this penalty, Harvey and Belm would have tied for 5th overall in the final points, with Tim getting the verdict on a count back, thanks to his win at the final round🙂

British Trouing cars Champship have very strict noise rules for cars

Its not the BTCC, local councils have a noise limit for their areas - its a lot more restrictive than 110db these days. Snetterton and Silverstone was probably not as restrictive as both tracks are in the middle of nowhere.
