The dartling shooting deadly spikes was actually soo incredibly good - it was shooting multiple deadly spikes per shot and I think it had a bit more attack speed than a factory as well so you got like 6x more spikes than a factory would and there's no cap on the amount of spikes on the ground so that stack could've probably taken maybe even a ZOMG, definitely a BFB when it was maxed.

This is so chaotic and pretty fun at the same time, btw I think what’s happening with the camo stuff is that if the tower has camo it can aim at camo bloons but can’t damage it, and if the projectile has camo it can damage camo but won’t aim at it

I noticed something interesting, camo-seeing towers will attack BUT the projectile will do nothing, which means projectiles are also coded to being able to or not be able to hit camos

That is how towers that can't see camo attack through camo bloons to hit normal bloons behind them. Fun fact: in prior games, this used to not exist and towers that can't see camo could still shoot camo bloons if they were in between the tower and its target (or, with high pierce towers, behind its target), they just couldn't AIM AT camo bloons.

iirc the "accidental camo hits" were only in BTD4, I think NK fixed it for BTD5 understandable for game balance but it was a fun accidental mechanic

This is how village attack and spactory spikes work. They can hit camo, but you do not get Advanced Intel for camo detection from them

This exists exclusively for the purpose of 2xx subs, whenever the sub shoots a dart within another tower's range, that dart can hit any camos even though the sub can't, so if the dart's target dies it can travel across the map and kill a camo that was never seen by anything.

The Druid was attacking camo, but only the tornado attack, so it is only useful with non camos when tornado can prock edit* to clarify further, the attack was actually just ninja stars not tornado, but they seek. so when camos come while the stars are still alive they will seek to the camos

Looks like the tower *and* projectile each has its own camo detection. Intel relied on the tower's camo detection, hence why they were useful and the saviors during the earlier rounds. However the projectiles also have their own camo detection so if the tower can't normally hit camos, it wont, in the unmodified game you'll notice non-camo towers can't hit camo bloons even if their projectiles go through them. This is why it was such a struggle because you needed both a tower that could detect camo, AND a projectile that could hit it. The saving grace was Intel gave subs a sort of pseudo camo detection. Hence their importance.

the reason some towers (like the druid of the storm shooting camo-hitting shuriken projectiles) were able to pop camo sometimes is because there were other bloons around that they were attacking and the camo-hitting projectiles would hit camo bloons as well, but when there were no visible bloons, no projectiles were being fired, and so the camo bloons could not be hit

Okay, I think the way camo works is that while towers with camo detection CAN target camos, the projectile shot might not be able to hit camo bloons, which is what the dart monkeys to the right were doing earlier on. This also applies in the opposite way, where towers that can’t see camos can still hit camo bloons if it’s projectile can hit camo, but they just can’t target them, which is what was happening with some of the towers that was hitting camos.

This is actually much harder than you might think, you need both the tower, and the tower whos projectile it shoots to see camo, causing for example a ninja monkey with a non 0-0-X upgrade path Wizard-Projectile to not hit Camos, I had trouble with camos at round 93 its actually mega random
