6:43 the retry last round is really fine…. Everyone was backing out of the game anyway.. all this did was give everyone less anxiety when playing the game mode. It’s still just as fun and if you’re going for a bb run it’s still the exact same. It’s just really nice because if you’re using an rng strat you don’t have to guess if you have to restart your 40 min run because you died on 99……

I think isab enjoys the micro aspect that abilities provide, as well as the occasional power boost they provide that lets you save up tons of money, these combined I find it pretty unlikely that isab will do this.

How is retry last round less satisfying than quitting out to the home screen? It is just streamlined. You quit out for the sake of retrying a round a ton before this change and the requirements to get a black border are the same as they have always been. So what is the issue?

Impale is definitely the stronger tower, but most people end up using relentless glue already because of how strong it is so super glue does have an advantage in that regard. Impale can have camo intrinsically if its 205, and I was able to do a 2tc run with that and an 025 dartling gunner, because of how much more damage it does, so it was able to solo the DDT's on 95 and 99. Also, another satisfying stun combo is an energizer with a relentless in range if your map has water.

glue's always been a great support, slowing is essentially equivalent to a damage boost since more time for the towers to deal damage means more damage, top path is great for essentially nullifying ceramics (and moabs with t5) and mid path is great since an 0-3-2 makes ceramics much easier to deal with and the damage boost from glue strike and glue storm is great for spam strats and towers with low base damage like tack zone

I disagree with your take on the CHIMPS change. I would say it makes black borders MORE valuable because it greatly inflated the amount of gold borders going around. It makes black borders a much smaller percentage of all meddle borders. That and it makes life infinitely easier for casuals because now they don't have to have lightning reaction time to pause the game in time before having to start from round 6 again.

To me it feels like it's an extra mode now. Gold bordering is very different playstyle than black bordering. You can take more risks and lean on RNG a bit more with a gold border. And what you learn from gold bordering can help in black bordering. There were maps I didn't bother trying chimps mode on before, now it's opened up a difficulty level that wasn't fun for me before without taking about the black border "prestige". I wouldn't even call myself casual, I play every day, I'm just flatly not as skilled as some players.

I'm not terribly skilled like some pro players but I'd consider myself above Average. And I agree with your take that it feel like a new game mode; at the very least I play gold border runs completely differently than I used to. This is a good change all around in my opinion. The black border system is still fully intact and gold bordering is a lot more fun in my opinion. A win win for everyone.

Yeah I would say even before the change beating a map on chimps was just not that impressive. The retry last round button is the same as just doing the home glitch (bug whatever you wanna call it) but more streamlined. Black bordering has always been the more impressive feat and remains unchanged to this day.

@@wtgkanp2431 it'd be called an exploit since it's a game mechanic working perfectly fine (game saves your current run every time you quit out so that you don't have to do your entire run all over again in the case of an emergency) being used in an unintended way (getting basically infinite attempts at a single round)

Love how NK is buffing towers that are underpowered. I remember when Super Glue and many other tower upgrades were just alright, but there were better options. Overall, it’s nice to see the game becoming somewhat balanced and most towers being equal in strength. Just hoping they don’t completely break the game with too many buffs.
