NO ! It is the MAGNIFICATION OF THE MICROSCOPE !! The result is via the glass lens and quoting results of it's use should be STATED in the answer. THE MAGNIFICATION OF THE MICROSCOPE !! Sorry for the pedantry but context is part of understanding.

I understand what you are saying but I have seen exam questions where you are required to work out the magnification of an image. Sometimes the student actually measures the size of the image from the paper. As a physicist we work out the magnification of combinations of lenses, I can't see it causing too much confusion.

@@btecappliedsciencehelp Magnification calculation requires instrumentation and all instrumentation used in experiments is relevant to the result produced. I could understand your nomenclature if you were calculating image magnification by comparing images by ruler as you explained AND AS YOU SHOULD EXPLAIN IF THAT's HOW RESULTS WERE OBTAINED !! It is proper scientific experimental explanation to include "the working out" which includes the experimental method and you can't get away from this !!
