Thanks for joining! Do you use videos as part of your guitar practice, or only use sheet music? Have you ever recorded your performance or practice session to evaluate your playing?

Can you post a video of perhaps adjusting the playability of a guitar? For instance, adjusting the action to a nominal height?

I prefer to record the audio with the cell, because it's a good perception training to see what's your searching in your playing and what's lacking

I've been playing since before the advent of accesible video cameras and I can honestly say that a mirror was very useful. The added bonus of a mirror or window is it feeds back a clear sound of your playing making it sound like you are being played to so you can really focus on sound and phrasing. More recently I have been experimenting with memorizing a piece as a first step so that I can concentrate on all the other aspects of interpretation and performance without having to worry about reading. I also believe that the sooner you memorize, the sooner you know the music and the better control over the interpretation added to which I always had memory issues which made me doubt my playing. I didn't realize that you had produced these tutorial videos, they are a really great addition to your performances which are beautifully delivered. Your playing is really mesmerizing. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I have thought about a video often but always defer to another time. On your advice, now I will try it!

Great talk! I am gonna try to do videos soon and one of the reasons for it is to document that I actually did play the piece because after a while of not playing it, it becomes difficult to re-learn the piece. So a recorded repertoire is better than just keeping a list of what I have played it. It MIGHT help to relearn it later, but not sure. My memory for music is awful. So right now the recordings will serve as an "i did that!" kinda thing and maybe a re-learning tool later

Amateur here, liking to underline the finger posture point around 8:10. Only recently started to really observe all this posture stuff, as large ring ganglions started forming mostly on my left index. Regardless: Relatively fast I had to acknowledge the benefit in play accuracy, the price being there is no going back to sitting on the carpet campfire style. Right now I am forced to wait for a surgery wound on the largest ganglion to heal before playing the guitar again. So avoid those crunching lateral grips, lest you end up the same!
