BTG's guide to enjoying a wet Nürburgring Nordschleife lap!

Both guides you made on the nordschleife should be mandatory to watch for beginners ! They are really useful. What i really appreciate is that they don't concentrate on performance but just on how enjoying the track considering your experience, weather condition, car, trafic, etc... That's how the nurburgring should be tackled by everyone on public session. Thx and keep up the good work !

Hi BTG, I really liked the video and by experience I can concur that on a wet day you can learn a lot more technique on this track than on a dry one. On the latter one you might squeal your tires a bit and that's it but when it's wet your car will be far less forgiving to your foolishness. To quote a comment made earlier: people who have never been to the Nordschleife can learn a lot from valuable and GOOD video laps here. "Autofahren soll nur der, der es kann"

please dont listen to the last tip the corner on that turn has a small radius and it needs no gas at all a slight brake can do it just to be on the safe side GOOD LUCK TO ALL RACERS

This and the other video are very accurate descriptions. I drove around the circuit in rain showers during the summer. Some parts of the racing line are like driving on ICE. You are 100% right. It is best driven in a decent car with decent tyres and a sensible attitude. Pirelli P zero tyres are slippery most of the time. An automatic gear box is awefull. Power is lumpy. Too forcefull. Its very easy to slide. On 2 turns i used opposite lock and caught the slide. however i used too much lock on

the steering wheel and the car ended up in a spin. 1 90° and 1 360 spin. I was keeping my speed down so didnt hit the grass or the armco barrier. The other drivers were not going like bats out of hell either, so did not plough into my stationary car. I was able to get the car back at the right angle and carry on.

Good stuff Dale ! All the wet lap help you've given me in and out of the passenger seat defiantly helped confidence in the wet. It is a bit tricky, but it's so enjoyable to drive the Nurburgring in these conditions as it's usually empty and you can learn your cars handling characteristics at a slower speed :)

Mission achieved with this video, I would have thought "Its wet, no problem I'll just go slow" I then would have proceeded to ruin my motor doing 50mph through corners rather than the actually required slow speed of 30. Good stuff!

i always wanted to get on the nordschleife! Right now im just scared because i would have crashed like 100 meters from the start in these conditions. Can´t believe how slippery the track is... Really nice driving mate

Yes. The Nordschleife is a regular road with regular laws. You crash or hurt someone your insurance will pay.
