The Dyno chart says his 313 HP rating was after a 1.25 STD Correction. What that means for all you who dont know about dynos graphs is that those numbers he's bragging about are 25% higher than what the Dyno actually saw. So his Horsepower is really closer to 260. Just thought i'd share

Glad you said it, usually you adjust to 1.20 std correction to show a customer what the engine is making at the flywheel to adjust for approximate parasitic loss. 260ish at the wheels is actually really good at the wheels still though for an older truck with regular bolt on mods. Imagine if he put AC Delco plugs like the lord intended.

good next video would be baseline with 35's, then add a mild power high torque cam, like a .550/.550 209/217 cam, tune it to the cam, then do a power gain with the 35's, cuz stock tires are fine but let's be real we all run 30+ on our trucks lol

Ya kinda wondering why you ran the smaller tires. After you still have to correct speedo. And doesn't that change your at the road gear ratio so trans shift points aren't compensated for bigger wheels. Not to knock but seems like you would want a more real world tune for the tire change

My 03 was tested after exhaust which is H pipe and Gibson mufflers intake, tune, coil packs and layed down 364 hp with 235k miles. These the 5.3 breath and shit and they will give you plenty of power. Had a 99 4.8 that was close to 300 as well. Truck looks and sounds great man. Thx for posting

I didn’t comment on the last video but owning a 2005 GMC Sierra I would’ve guessed 300hp. I’d like to see how she can do in the 1/4 mile. My truck did 16.25 on a hot day. I’m gonna go tomorrow to see how it’ll perform in the much cooler temps

I got 2003 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 3.73 Gears , bone stock nothing , only cat delete , Magna Packs, It made at the dyno 259 HP and 300 torque, pretty good numbers for bone stock 5.3 which by the way came out of the factory 285HP and 325 torque.

I think the motor is underrated from the factory anyway. Car manufacturers are notorious for under rated engine power for gas mpg claims. I’d be curious to see what it makes straight up stock. Plus that tune is worth its weight in gold. Good numbers tho for sure

That dyno is just happy.. Long tubes plus your mods would put you at about 300rwhp.. That’s what every other LM7 in the world puts down

I’ve got a new 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ with the 5.3 and it’s really stout feeling. I love it and it’s solid black with all options but I think I’m going back to a 3/4 ton diesel. Looking at a Denali.

blugrassmaniac my lil bro just turnt 16 he got a 2017 Denali Duramax with only 3000 miles on it and that baby is nice. I believe it has a 6 inch lift setting on 22’s with 35’s with a big tune on it.

If you have the L33 (aluminum block and higher compression) that’s about right. The iron block 5.3’s make about 280 to the tire with those mods.

dude your so wrong, it's the china knock off CAI and X PIPE, i bet some headers on that would also give about 30 more HP and with e-85 you probably hit like 400...add a CAM and BOOOM 500 hp!!!!! WOOOOOOOT!!!!! haha just kidding, but any 5.3 block is a nice engine for a long time.

I beleave that good trans has a huge affect on power gains.. I changed mine and felt like it gained a hundred horsepower.....no shit !!! Less slippage and lag

I was surprised what i was squeezing out og my 2000 5.3. It has 295-75 16's with cst mid travel my own stack leafs , motor : stock k&n intake whicth i customized to get 2 more hp from lol, 40 series flowie, down 1 step in colder range ac delco plugs, msd wires, my own billet polished spacer, tiny bit honed out throttle body with slight polish , 6.0 litre main fuel filter, electric dual fans from summit with auto relay @ 185 degrees i think , dif thermstat , belive it or not the radest mod i ever did was 140 bucks corvette style servo for trans shifting makes it solid with out slipping when shifting thats what comfort style tuning from Factory uses to weakin shift , ummm 91 oct from 76 with lil booster . believe thats all except for dyno tuned from buddys race shop . i made 318 rear wheel on basicly 34" tires 16 wheel stock gearing. Torque was 336. Thats way impressive. Honestly the trans mod and plugs with intake and egshaust is all u nees with precise tune from actual shop that builds 200k race Porsches for 24hrs Daytona.... Headers and head work with 218 to 222 cam would waker up dont remember whole lift and duration values any more

@@dogle9258 Don't get a handheld programmer, find a reliable tuner in your area that knows what he's doing and get a legit custom tune. Then get the headers and take it back to him to retune it.

I have the 6.0L and it comes stock at 360hp I do have 35 on 18s. Stock lift and just a cold air intake and I got hell of power. I going to buy the tuner soon.

Damn. I didn’t know just how far these bolt-ons can take you! Raise the rev limiter to about 6500 rpm and put a high lift cam with upgraded valve springs in it, and you’ll make 340 wheel easy!

That’s some beautiful country definitely some bigfeet in those woods and I’m being serious I had what couldn’t be explained any other way other than a Bigfoot run across the road one night very very fastly shit definitely blew my mind anyways I appreciated the vid I’ve been looking at a couple similar pickups and not having much luck finding something without rust issues at this point I’m thinking about focusing on the 07 to whatever body style those for whatever reason seem to hold up better for now anyways lol

Grab some SOS coils with their Fire wires, open the plug gap carefully!!! Cause they’re a double platinum plug on the ole LM7. I just need to save up for the tuner and the ATI damper pulley once it’s back in stock I’ll be grabbing those.

I have a 04 Tahoe 5.3 4x4 on 33” mud tires.. with long tube headers, no catts, flow master exhaust, K&n cold air intake. I’m getting it dyno tuned pretty soon, I wanted to do the deablo sport tune before dynoing but wasn’t sure if the dyno tune overwrites the deablo tune? Should I do the deablo tune and then dyno tune it or just do the dyno tune ?

Crazy, I have a bored 5.3 585 cam, flat top pistons,v 50lb injectors a trailblazer SS intake 92 mm throttle body shorty headers dual exhaust stall converter 373 rear end and mine only made 312 at dyno

I just picked up a 03 suburban with LM7. 170k on 5.3 but 15k on 4l60. Stock but has air raid open element cone filter but still stock intake tube. Would changing the stock muffler to a magnaflow or flowmaster help much or just sound difference? Stock manifolds and cats. What Bolton made the biggest seat of the pants difference? Tune? The LM7 was factory rated 285hp 325tq at the crank

James Holbrook my buddy had a 03 5.3 with lt headers, btr cam, cai, and every supporting mod along with a tune and put down 270hp and 270tq. Something doesn’t add up to me either. Heck my 6.0 with ls3 heads and same mods made 311hp and 317tq.

Depends which 6.0 some came low compression dished pistons others came high compression flat top the lq4 is low compression lq9 high compression the low compression makes lots of torque but no hp the high compression makes both

Im aware of all that rhe lq9s pretty much only cam in like Yukon denali and escalade but the 3\4 tone was the lq4 but at the wheels these numbers dont add up

What tune you running? I got a 03 Yukon xl Denali 6.0 stage 2 transmission had done few months ago true dule single chambers working on getting a k and n intake but at the moment just got a k and n filter stock intake. I want to put cold air intake on of course but was very much on the fence about tunes until now pretty impressed by that number for just bolt on stuff.

Dude plugs actually make a difference, look at the plug gap on the plugs that are a fit for your truck vs the recommended. Every tech knows, AC Delco for GM, motorcraft for for, Bosch for European, NGK for Asian vehicles… but NGK laxer iridium is good on about everything just pricey. Going with these brands gets you the correct gap= a more efficient engine.

I have a super clean 2001 4 door Silverado 5.3. Legal cold air intake including smog legal headers. I had the dyno tuned done last week. Posi rear with 4.11 gears...brand new paint (midnight blue). Updated hid headlights plus rear taillights. Rebuilt my engine plus trans. Placed a shift kit in trans as well. Let me tell you something..THIS BITCH IS BA BA BA BA BADDDDDDD...I'll be uploading a video of her sometime this week..I usually don't upload truck videos on my channel...I do cop watching if anyone wants to swing by and check them out..ANYWAYS IM PUSHING 875 HP TO MY REAR After dyno. ...it'll cost you a little over $5k. Next item for my truck will be a super charger. Here is a list of what has been done to my motor. I want to get her to 1000 hp maybe a little over... CNC Ported Heads 1. BTR Dual Valve Springs 2.BTR Hardened Pushrods 3.ARP Head Studs 4.Upgraded Trunnions 5.Melling High Pressure High Volume Oil Pump 6.New OE Piston Rings Gapped to .028 top and .030 Bottom 7.King XP-Series Rod bearings 8.King XP-Series Main Bearings 9. LS7 Lifters Way way to much to list. If anyone wants to know what else it takes please feel free to let me know...Thanks.

My '07 5.3 made 242 stock. With COLD Air Inductions intake, Diablew tune, and cat back it made 296 to the wheels. I think your dyno is high...

I had an fbo and HP tuned 05 gmc Yukon 5.3.... 323 years had a bully dog watch dog on it just to test my max speed. 158 and still gaining on 31" toyo ats. Though I seen a state boy on I20. 5.3 guy right here too!! And I averaged 19 mpg. 55 mph I was at 28 mpg on flat road. Suck it dodge and ford guys!

Im late to the party but those numbers seem really high compared to other dyno tests we've run. Even on mine we got 243hp/293tq with headers and fully tuned. Granted it was on 35s but thats not 70hp worth so idk

Hey i got a question. I have a 09 with a 5.3 did the cold intake. I wanted to do a true dual exhaust but was told it might not pass emissions in Colorado. I did just the cat back. I also just changed plugs and wires and I can see the gains. I guess my question is either get the edge tuner or pay a guy to tune it for me. Both cost about the same.

Something must be wrong with my 06 5.3 that comes with electric fans. Got a volant cai 3 inch exhaust and dyno tuned. Only 252rwhp 288tq.

Dyno seems generous but is this the aluminum 5.3 or iron compression is different so he might be making that depending on dished or flat top pistons a well known secret of the ls motors is they love compression they light right up as a matter a fact I think got the ls2 right at 11/1

I have the exact same engine and modifications except my transmission is stock. My truck beats the heck out of my dad’s stock LC9 5.3, which is stock and has 315hp. I estimate mine gone about 325/345 at the crank.

My lil 4.8 has cold air intake ported tb longtubes y pipe magnaflow corvette servo and a 91 octane tune by me and my hp tuners log says I make 280hp and 291tq. My truck whoops on 5.3s all day long. Even beat my buddy’s cammed 5.3 truck. 91 octane would really wake your truck up!

I see people hate on 5.3’s in A LOT of video comment sections on KZbin from truck review videos to channels like yours and I’ve never understood why. Most likely they’ve never driven one but who knows. One thing I will say is that GM is TERRIBLE about the lag in the electronic throttle which does get annoying but that doesn’t mean the 5.3 short on power. I drove a 2018 on a FTS 7” lift and 35’s and I thought it felt good as far as power goes.

Sadly those numbers don't mean much with out a stock comparison on the same dynojet dyno... Dynojet are notorious for over inflating numbers and not being accurate but they can provide measurable performance gain still with a stock run. Mustang Dyno's are where it's at.

Ok so on the last video I guessed 370 at the crank. Is there a simple conversion to figure out what your truck makes at the crank? Or is there not really anyway to know since dino measures power to the wheels?

Drive train loss on a truck is about 15-20% so the truck makes about 340-370 at the crank

360 hp at the crank on a half ton truck is still low if you compare it to say something like a 15-17 GT that eats half the weight.

Couple reasons, biggest reason it won’t fit on the dyno with 12 wides 😂 other reason was I wanted the number on number on a stock tire size so we can see the gain over stock all the bolt ons added

Which computer? My trucks thinks I still run stock tires so my speedometer is off. The Dyno doesn’t need any tire calibration it reads horsepower the same way. The only thing running 35s would’ve done was lower the number due to the power lose by the increased rotational mass.

I have an 02 burban with 310k miles im building a "backup" engine with flat top pistons, ported stock 862 heads milled .015", the block will be .030 over and decked .015" as well I'm installing a mtc8 camshaft

Don't u love it at the end he thinks he know what he Talking About he points at the hp line and call it the torque curve and on on the dyno u can tell they never dialed in the weight of the truck the not even Squat so the hp would be higher then
