Whenever I visit Glasgow I always have to remember to look up. On the plainest of buildings there could be a wee figurative artistic surprise.

I love buildings like McCormick House, one piece of architecture catches your eye then you see another and another. Thanks for explaining the phoenix on West Nile St, just thought it was a architect showing off 😉

Good day my friend. It's always nice to travel about the city every fortnight or so with our Resident Historian. Hats off, for the private viewing of the inside of the square. Great history of all the buildings as well. Thank you.

(i lived for a wee bit in the maisonette complex in the 'shields) we used to have unicorns 🦄 in jockland, now we have 'corny yoons' 😣,well negland did actually HAVE lions either. I wish I'd paid more attention to looking at the briggit when i was a pup, outside the clutha. Another excellent informative episode 🙂 👍

The street outside the old fish market smelt of fish untll it was refurbished as the Briggait. I didn't know that was 15 years after it was closed!

Not Glasgow. But where I grew up in East Kilbride we had concrete Elephants in the park next to my house in Westwood.

Quite literally never been aware of your videos until today. If you haven't yet touched on them, how about covering Belahuston park in 1938, with it's art deco tower and the last ever empire exhibition? Followed in 1988 by the National Garden Festival.

Im glad you have found me and I hope you stick around. I talk about the Empire exhibition in episode 46, my video about the two Queen Mary's and if you want a Garden festival video, I think you will like this one; kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ-piJqLmrllqc0

have just came across your channel..... Glasgow Necropolis is one site I wish to explore myself for various reasons ,maybe in the summer but I think it would be interesting for many others but may require some ( a lot ) research from yourself to do it justice.

I'm glad you have found my channel and I hope you have a look through my previous episodes. I am still collecting stories for a necropolis episode but I have visited the Southern Necropolis in a few earlier episodes.

@@AstonishingGlasgow I will look out for these.... the thing that caught my eye about this video was was the Sea Horses.... this is because I research Symbols of all types and thought they looked interesting so wanted to see if there were more and you did not let me down.... To be honest I am a Truther and look for the truth hidden in plain sight and is also a beacon to those in the Know. You will know yourself some of the meanings behind these beautiful Sandstone Symbols that a certain Establishment use , but so many have not the faintest realisation of how important they are and what they truly represent and some have double meanings. I hope I am not scaring you off or dragging you too much down the Rabbit Hole but looking into symbols has sparked my imagination into admiring the Architecture and history that surrounds us... if you ever want to know what a Symbol means then do not hesitate to ask... the Necropolis is full of one specific Symbol that so many are blind to...???

Mc Cormick House is a super building, which once had an arts and crafts furniture warehouse next door. Unfortunately, Reform Scotland (Farage) have their HQ next door.

Must go down well with Reform that Awaz radio is there as well.
