There is nobody in history of basketball who was as skilled as Michael Jordan. And I'm sure he clearly doesn't believe his own words. Hes just looking to make a statement, or good attention for his statement. If that's not true, he'd be the only NBA player that would ever say those words. John Starks, Grant Hill, Penny Hardway, John Stockton, Scottie Pippin, Charles Barkley, and many more where are better then this guy let alone Jordan.
@pluto5452 жыл бұрын
MJ is arguably the best player ever and most athletic, but was he the most skilled. I honestly think it's argument and he's in the conversation, but I think Wilt, Kareem, and Olajuwon were all more skilled. If we are including offense and defense as a total package. If we are strictly, offense, you got Pistol Pete, Larry Bird, Chris Paul, Steph Curry, LeBron, Kobe, Harden and it's pretty good list of guys. Please don't disrespect T-Mac, like that, the only people on that list you named who was actually better than T-Mac was...Barkley and maybe Pippen. John Starks? Nostalgia glasses. Pippen was about the greatest defender ever and pretty good offensive player, but offensively he was never in the same class as T-Mac. Hardaway and Hill, it's a little bit closer, but neither one averaged as many points as T-Mac and I agree they might take the edge in playmaking and point skills, but it's very close. T-Mac also was the best defender of the group, the most athletic, better 3 point shooter, and presented more matchup problems for opposing defenses. He stayed a little bit more healthy, during his prime as well.

The word smooth doesn't even do this guy justice. He jumped from a role player to as good as AI, Vince and Kobe almost overnight at age 21. With that type of sudden growth, the sky was the limit and it was really a rat-race between AI, Kobe and Tracy (Maybe Vince as he played SG sometimes) at that point to top of the post-MJ "Best SG in the League" battle. I know hind-sight is 20/20 and you can call me crazy or a crackhead but put into perspective the timeline there from 2000-01 to 2004-05. Some people use the term comedian's comedian.. same appliea to Tracy, players loved to come and watch him play, there is a Joy that lebron brings to the game, that same joy was with Tracy. Yes playoffs were systematic & coaching schemes driven & Tracy wasn't that. Plus his injuries were nor self made, they happened on court on rought teams and his killer instinct switched on higher opponents like Kobe, he competed. He didn't win, that is all. You also should look at trades he was supposed to be involved in. He was deeply coveted player. Never over priced in market. And Tracy was extra creative, maybe he should have played like within a system like Popovich Edelman You also forget, he was a family man, quiet after games. And if you remember he was one thr greats who spoke out on social issue, if I remember Darfur (Sudan) which is even happening today. T-Mac and Vince Carter were a duo I consider as iconic as Malone and Stockton. They won no ring together but they lost their fight with their head high. They made me care about the Raptors, an expansion team I considered as hot garbage before they put it on the map... Tracy had the mind of a tiger, but didn't have a body hardy enough to keep up the pace. Truly sad but what can you do when you're born injury prone...

Tracy was better than Kobe early on the Magic. The best player in the world period for a couple years. Unstoppable scorer, and the best perimeter passer in the game at the time. Back and knee injuries were his only downfall. Definitely top 2 to 5 caliber SGs ever.

Never passed 1st round. Not even in East. No excuses. In West with Yao (2 HoFs) they couldnt beat Carlos Boozer. "But hey he scored a lot buckets" Tmac was Adrian Dantley and we all know what ppl used to say about him.

I use to fuss with everyone about him being better than Kobe until the injuries!

@@munir9527 Nope. Watched Jordan from college until the end. Even in the decline Jordan was better then players that were younger and uninjured. Tmac was special but he didn't have Jordan's skill or talent.

Tracy McGrady is not close to the level of a Michael Jordan. There were a lot of players that had skill, that could dominate games from the perimeter, but other than Kevin Durant, there has never been a player that has dominated from the perimeter, with the efficiency that Jordan dominated with. FG% and FT% matter. Assist to turnover ratio, matters. You can't shoot 44-45% from the field and claim Jordan's level. Forget about it.

If you really pay attention. TMac was KD of that era.
