Iowa wrestling was on a direct path to a national title in 2020 until the unthinkable happened. The COVID pandemic halted all winter and spring championships, leaving Spencer Lee and company wondering, "what could have been?"
Now, stronger than ever and starting the 2021 season anew, there is some unfinished business.

I still feel bad for Pat Lugo. At least lee still has a chance to go for 4, since this year doesn't count for eligibility, but Lugo only had one shot to win nationals, and he didn't even get the opportunity.

Iowa should have been declared the NCAA wrestling champions due to their wrestling records for that 2020 year even if it is with an asterisk on the record books due to the Corona virus!!! They were the leading team with the best record and the most top seeded wrestlers with great records. We should petition the NCAA to give them the 2020 NCAA team championship Iowa Hawkeyes ruled the 2020 season!!!
