BTS was originally a hip hop group. RM was the first person signed and the group was built around him. Several rappers left and the CEO, Bang PD, decided to reform BTS as an idol group, bringing on singers and dancers. (I don't know which happened first-- the rapper exodus or the idol thing. But those that left had a real problem with the expectations of the agency.) Yes, J-Hope and Suga were in the original line up and stayed on.

I rarely use this word but B-free is trash (As well as the other guys bashing them without having even listened to their music). A few years after, Paloalto (Hi-lite record's founder) revealed all the disrespectful things that B-free had done to other rappers in the Hi-lite crew (Including asking for a fist fight just because he didn't like someone). He was acting like BTS and other idol rappers are disrespecting "real" hip-hop yet he wasn't even showing respect to rappers in his own label and in the end, rappers who knew him didn't wanna work him. How ironic. The rappers in that panel ended up making no impact in the Korean music industry period while BTS ended up re-writing history in it.

Whenever someone tries to put me down i think of what rm and suga would do? And i think back to how well and classy and educated they handled the bfree interview. That right there can teach rappers nowadays about humbleness and staying calm in situations. Most would try to create beef and let it continue and it would result to saying things that could potentially ruin their career but with that interview it really showed how fame and money can't buy class. Sure, bfree was probably all that back in the day where he dissed bts but in the long it ruined his career. Because it showed how disrespectful the circle he hangsout with and specifically him. BTS was supposed to be a hip hop group started with 4 from underground rappers ( RM , Suga ... ) but 2 of them leaved before debut bec the CEO changed it to Kpop group so they became as producers in BigHit , you can see why there alots of hip hop songs from bts.

If you want to see RM rap with the other members of the rap line in concert watch "Cypher Medley" Live with no closed captions as they are wrong. It was RM, Suga, and J Hope's hard rap response to the put downs from the underground rap scene toward their using the idol platform to gain both recognition and monetize. "CYpher Medley" combines a series of 4 Cyphers into a highly lit diss return attack on those hip hop artists that publicly put them down, particularly aimed at rapper B Free who said they betrayed Hip Hop to get made up like girls. It not only is BTS at it's best but the crowd in that stadium is hyped unlike anything you have seen in rap

Sorry no you did miss what they were saying, they said that Supreme Boi left BTS bust stayed as a producer, he produced and sang in the Cypher video you were watching. The Cypher series is with the 3 rap members, this particular cypher is with Supreme Boi. Okay backstory the interview as with a rapper named B-Free and other rappers, they were confronting BTS about why they sold out and left underground rapping and if it was (too hard) that they sold out and became make up wearing idols in a commercialised industry instead, because they couldnt cut it. Korea at the time had the big 3 agencies, SM, JYP, YG and smaller companies didnt get a look in. Underground rappers like Bobby, Zico etc who are idols struggled and in part lost their identity wehn they left underground. To this day you now have 3 groups, Idol rappers, Underground Rappers and freestyle rappers (AOMG rappers like Code Kundst, Jay Park (owner of AOMG & ex idol), Simon D etc and others like Bewhy who are outstanding but now go between underground rappers and mix with idols/variety shows. THe lines are now blurring and more respect is coming out towards idols. But I am not in korea so I am not sure what is currently going on. Even recently Both Code Kunst and Nucksal appeared on a popular korean variety show called Running Man (been going since 2013) God of destruction still applies on Vlive just recently he confessed to loosing 33 ipods and now on his 34th. Okay there are some strange scenes which may not make any sense, but in context they do, BTS after being mistreated on variety shows created their own content. BTS Run - where they go on crazy missions and do crazy things, Vlive - individual or hour long with songs and events, concerts - go on missions to kill the boredom waiting. SO without the whole scenes some may look strange but in context they arent they are funny. The min yoongi series of BTS is very details people did switch across to BTS - Seven members of bangtan due to reports that the videos did have inaccurate information in it and was misleading. But thats only what i was told for the most part i found this series very informative. BTW you can tell a good Kpop group by its Maknae (youngest) member. As korea goes by age you have to always respect those older so in some groups the youngest either stays quiet or can even get mistreated. Now JK, who was originally that shy he almost got cut out from BTS, is known to be outspoken and even bully his members (in fun of course), so you can tell the bond with them. But its a tell tail sign of the health of a group for me by watching the maknae.

Eyyy GOT7 (19:00) and BTS are super close. RM is friend with Jackson, Jungkook is in 97' idol liners group chat with Got7 Yugyeom and BamBam ( and other idols born in 1997 ). BTS supposedly made up by duo rappers, RM and Iron (both of them come from same underground crew members called Daenamhyup). But later Bang PD change the formation become a hip hop group. So bighit make first audition to find other members. From the audition, they got 5 new members : Suga, Kidoh, Atom, E11even and Supreme boi (E11even, kidoh and Supreme Boi also come from Daenamhyup crew). Then Bang PD added Jhope as the last final BTS first line up member (Hobi at first came to JYP audition. Since at that time Bighit have cooperate with JYP to manage JYP's trainee n one of JYP's idol group, Bang PD maybe saw Jhope audition n snatched him right away n make him as BTS members lol). Hobi came to the dorm n live together with other BTS members on 25th december 2010. Among BTS members, only Jhope is the only one are not rapper, but a dancer. While the other 7 members is come from underground rapper. RM said, because of Jhope, Bang PD changed his mind again make BTS as idol group bcoz he didnt want to waste Jhope talent as dancer n he saw idol group give more opportunities to growth in music market. Most of rappers hate the idea of idol, so some of them resign from BTS and Bighit, except supreme boi who continue to work in bighit as producer. Yoongi at first also want to quit, but Bang PD can make him to stay with a promise to give him a freedom to created n pursue his music. So, it make BTS first line up that still stay just RM, Suga and Jhope. After that, bighit make second audition for searching new member as vocalist. After mix n match n changed some of potential vocalists several times, BTS finally formed with current members.

Correct me if I wrong ARMY. from what I know, Bang PD (the owner of Bighit ent.) wanna create a hip hop group with RM, and then add another rapper such Supreme Boi, etc. But he decided to debut BTS as Idol Group, so another rapper leave or just wanna be producer (like supreme boi). And Suga audition for Big Hit, he think he gonna be a producer, but Bang PD put him to BTS and J hope after that. (Rap line - RM, SUGA, JHOPE) Then he add the vocal line, first JK and JIN, V, and last JIMIN. But V is hidden members. That why the video mention RM is original line up for BTS.

As i know you're right.😉 When PD Bang met RM, he was shocked for RM's lyrics skills. It was beautiful & he was a good rapper. So he decided to make a hip-hop band for him. And gathered more members like Supreme boi who is also a skillful rapper........but BTS had changed to K-pop boy band. Then all left except RM. After they left, they insulted RM. they were friends as underground hip-hop crews. I feel so bad to watch those kinds of vids. They really hurt RM's feeling who once called as friend.
