I’m both an Army and a Directioner. I think the biggest thing about the fan wars is that in Kpop, streaming and views are a huge thing. BTS have the same, if not more, views than 1D because Army’s are obsessed with that. Due to that, Army’s think that they have a right to brag and say that BTS is better. When in reality, it doesn’t matter and they are equal. Directioner’s also tug on the ropes a little, because they say things like “BTS have more views, we need to beat them”. It never mattered before, I don’t understand why it should matter now. It literally doesn’t matter who is better or more popular, because in the end, they are the same. They are boy bands that got really famous, that release(d) amazing music, and that have a huge fan base. Why should we say one or the other is better? If you like BTS, but not 1D, that’s fine. It’s your opinion. And vice versa. If you like 1D but not BTS, okay cool. Why you gotta hate? Why can’t we mutually cheer each other on and be happy for the others successes? BOTH FANDOMS have people who are obsessive..... I personal am a very large fan of both and I find it so heartwarming to see them support/appreciate one another, as well as applauded the music they both produces and work they put into them. HOWEVER, both fandoms are infamous for going overboard when things upset them and are know for being “annoying” or taking thing too far.... Even though, both set of fans are very passionate, want the band to do great things, want them to win many awards, etc. They just want to see the best for their boys! We just need to respect one another as different fandoms and understand that changes will happen. Treat people with kindness. That's what One Direction have taught us, right? They have shown us so much kindness, so much joy, so much support and so much love and they would want us to show that to BTS *as well as* their fandom. Some of their fandom might not always be the nicest, but most of the fandom and BTS are, so them few people are not a reason to ignore everything the 1D boys taught us. If we joined together as fandoms we would be UNSTOPPABLE and incredibly powerful. We could make all the one direction boys and BTS incredibly successful, even more than before. Both fandoms united would mean we could all work together to make a huge difference to the entire world. Just think about that. We're the two biggest fandoms in the world and we can be joined together with our love for music. We have to stop the hate.

Directioners only encounter the toxic ones.. I have never encountered a toxic ARMY.. But I know there are a lot of them in like screenshots that are shared.. ARMYs are clowns and not annoying until someone starts anything hatred towards BTS.. It's just that we are so inspired by them in our daily lives and also not want any one to judge them.. And I have also not encountered a single directioner that is not toxic.. in real life. My whole class is like directioners except 5 and they just call us gays and BTS gays and it reaches a whole new level

I hate that some armies and directioners are disrespectful, like me as a fan of both am ashamed (I am more of a BTS Stan than 1D). Of course it's not the entire fandom but still. I was once a directioner, still kinda am. I love 1D as much as I love BTS. I don't understand why both fandoms have to bring eachother down. Yes, BTS have DEFINITELY paved the way, there's no doubt in that, but that doesn't make 1D less "important", I love all of these men, and it breaks my heart that some fans from both fandoms are constantly saying shit to one another.. we can all be better than that💜❤️

I’m seeing a lot of comments from directioners and they are saying ARMY is toxic, and they are sometimes, but calling a fan base toxic while being toxic is not the right thing to do. Someone said that one direction had the biggest fan base ever and we just had to deal with it but that’s not true. I’m an ARMY and not a directioner, but they are EQUAL. One is not better than the other. They are cool with each other so what is the point in starting a fan war? Everyone just shut up and go home if you don’t have something nice to say about both groups.

I think the people that hate are just too into the artist and get defensive easily, it also comes with immaturity. I remember back when 1D was hella famous and BTS was getting there too, there were a loooooot of fan wars, and it came with most being teenagers. It’s expected, but I think we’ve all grown and matured, as have the artists we like, and we can continue to grow positively without anymore fan wars. The only ones that will do it now are immature but it’s a very small portion of each fandom, don’t stress out about it and love each other. 💓

I'm a Directioner and ARMY. I stay out of fan wars but damn there are some people out there who are very very immature and disrespectful. All the fans who aren't like that understand that obviously not all fans are that way (i'm speaking about both fandoms) but not gonna lie, it definitely gives us a certain reputation to people on the outside looking in. That's why so many people say that both fandoms are annoying when we're not, it's only toxic people who are. I LOVE both equally but they're groups that I just kind of support because they meant a lot to me in the past. 1D was the first group/artist i really got into and BTS got me into kpop about 4-5 years ago.

I’m an Army and I want to apologize on the behalf of BTS’s fan base. I came here because you guys support us on BTS’s Comeback today and I wanna say thank you. BTS and ARMY have been getting a lot of hate over the past years and I partly understand why. But please remember, most of us are actually nice people, we are just like you, a big family that supports each other, helps each other, raises money for those in need and so on. I am truly sorry that most of you had bad encounters with us, and I wish we all could just get along and even support each other. We would be so powerful. It’s just, we love those boys so much, they’ve been through so much pain, you can’t even imagine. This is why we are so so sensitive when they are getting backlash, because we want them to finally be happy. So I hope we can find a way in the future to communicate and appreciate one another and celebrate those two mind blowing Boy Groups, who helped us so much in our worst times ✨💜
