8:05 Nope he wasn't in the performance, he missed most award shows and BE album promotions in 2020 because of his recovery from the surgery, BTS always left a space for him in all dances and even brought his pics around with them to the events, and took group photos with them holding his picture That's something beautiful i love about BTS, when a member is missing from activities, they don't usually change the choreography to fit 6 members or change the lyrics, they keep the member's spot as it is, to make it clear that the group is not complete with the absence of that member

Yoongi had his injury prior to their debut in 2013 and danced for all those years in pain. It wasn't until the pandemic that he took the time to get his injury repaired. They always left a spot for Yoongi in their performances as a sign of respect.

OMG Jungkook, you are the epitome of perfection! Literally, when he appeared, my heart skipped a beat, and it kept racing the whole video every time I saw him. He looks absolutely stunning in a ponytail - it’s like it was made just for him! His outfit? Pure chef’s kiss! @SS_642 Ever since debut , tae had always mentioned how he wanted to wear suits and perform jazz/classical music . He is an old soul who loves formal clothing and classical jazz music. He is comfortable in those clothes and enjoys wearing it. He is just so cute😭😭😭

Unfortunately Yoongi was not with them when they performed in MAMA 2020 he was recovering from shoulder surgery he had undergone prior to the event, which required a period of rest and rehabilitation. But anyways they did a very astonishing performance ..:)

8:00 Wellll, technically Yoongi wasn't there but maybeee they paid thousands to have a life-size Yoongi hologram perform with them. 😉 2020 is my absolute favourite of the MAMA performances, specifically because of the Life Goes On performance, with 2018 as a close second. 💜

This was when Yoongi was recovering, so he wasn’t in the performance either. They left a space for him in everything they did. They’re seven and will always be seven even when one can’t perform. 7-1=0. They also carried around a picture of him, which you can see in the behind for this. 😂 One of the things I love about MAMA/MMA is that they always take a moment to spotlight the members of the dance line. They’re each so talented with their own style of how they move and it’s so great to see that showcased. I laughed when you said Jimin moves like water just as he was doing that body roll. Immediate thought - can water be sexy? Because then Park Jimin is cutie, sexy, lovely water. Tae doing dance practices in office wear will always make me laugh. I love him for always being himself.

This was when yoongi had his shoulder surgery 😭 he had his whole arm immobilised for 3 months and then had to do treatment recovery to learn to move his arm and shoulder for another 3 months, so 6 months in total 😭 he missed the whole be era

Yoongi doesn't perform in 2020 end of year award shows, but I do believe there is a cameo appearance in one of them. BTW, this performance was on a football field, and the guys were in uniforms.

Borahae. --NY USA 2019 Army 💟 Sunshine Sam said on 10/13/22 MMA (Melon Music Awards) and MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) are those big kpop award shows that happen at the end of the year. Usually all artists that perform leave jaw-dropping performances, and BTS is no exception. In 2016, god that year was so big for them. They won a Daesang that year (A Daesang is like a big award ex. Artist of the Year, Album of the year, etc.). BTS won album of the year, and seeing them cry backstage with the thoughts of “we did it, we made it” makes me cry everytime. They truly deserve all the happiness in the world. Also notes for other award shows you might watch. MMA & MAMA 2020 - no crowd, everything is prerecorded due to Covid. Plus, no Suga. He was recovering from his shoulder injury MMA & MAMA 2021 - BTS didn’t perform that year. They were on a small break to spend the holidays with their families, which they hadn’t really done since debut (they’ve been busy with promotions, these award shows, practice, comebacks, etc.). So don’t be alarmed if you don’t find anything for it, it doesn’t exist. But they did win awards that year! These performances are so special. BTS have a small habit of making award shows into their concerts lol! I can’t wait for the award shows this year. Ka Yan Ho from YT wrote on 6/18/21 For the MMA, - In 2013: 1st time invited and were the 5th performers of the total of 13. - In 2014: I'm not sure if they attended the show but they were not nominated for any award nor performed. - In 2015: 7th performer of the total of 10. - In 2016: 13th performers of the total of 15. - In 2017: 2nd last performers - In 2018 till 2020 they have been the last performers. ------------ For the MAMA, it has been held on multiple days and on multiple cities/countries in 2017 & 2018. - 2014 in Hong Kong: 1st time invited and 1st performers on the show & in the middle of the show as well with another group called Block B at the same time. This is a legendary performance! - 2015 in Hong Kong: 9th performer of 28 total performers - 2016 in Hong Kong: 23th performer of 29 total performers - In 2017 the show was held for 3 days in Vietnam, Japan & Hong Kong. They attended on the last day which was in Hong Kong and performed last. - In 2018 it was held for 3 days in S. Korea, Japan & Hong Kong. They attended the 2nd & 3rd day and performed on both days last. So there are 2 separate performances. - In 2019 it was only held for 1 day because of political issues between S. Korea & Japan and it was held in Japan despite that. They attended and performed last. - In 2020 it was held for 1 day too and this time in S. Korea because of COVID. They attended and performed last. The largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment, has decided to boycott the MAMA show since 2018 because of unfairness in the voting system. No artists of SM has appeared on the show ever since. The 2nd largest company, YG Entertainment, faced the same issue in 2015 and hasn't attend the show nor performed besides BLACKPINK only attending in 2018. So because of no artists from these 2 largest companies attending there were no competition in performing nor winning awards against BTS. With MAMA usually if you're nominated and you attend the show you may win the award you're nominated for. But if you're nominated and the end result was obvious that you should have won the award but you didn't attend the show, the award will be given the 2nd place winner. Even if they attended they still won't win the award(s) they were nominated for because BTS was still on top and dominating the nominations. BTS exploded in popularity domestically and internationally since 2016 so much that it overtook the most popular artists from SM Ent & YG Ent since. MAMA is the Mnet Asian Music Awards, like the Grammys, and MMA is the Melon Music Awards. All of BTS's performances at MAMA are masterpieces. Watch from 2014. 2014 is special, watch with a sedative)). On January 1, 2015 and at the 29th GDA Awards they performed without Jungkook!!! In the first case, minors are not allowed to perform at night by law, and in the second case, Jungkook and a couple of other guys from other groups were not given a visa to perform in China, but were allowed into the country.

In November 2020 SUGA had his shoulder surgery and were gone for a few months. The big award shows are at the around new year. Also even though he started showing up a little already at the end of 2020(?) just making some appearance a few min without moving/dancing etc. he wasn't really back fully and performing etc until a few months into 2021. Some pre-recorded things came out with him during his absence. And some things pre-recorded that was recorded when he was gone later came out in 2021 without him when he was back. But from November 2020 into part of 2021 Yoongi was absent from a lot of things.
