Enjoy the journey. Just don't confuse them from a Western point of view, ARMY is diverse, and we love them as humans and artists. I appreciate you getting to know them, BTS has surpassed their K-pop industry stigma (not that being in that industry is bad, because it's not) it just limited their inclusion in the Western music industry and charts which they deserve to be in, including many other K-pop groups and artists. We are very humbled and proud of BTS journey, growth, and we all look forward to their new chapter in 2025 following their military service.

all the members were born and have always lived in South Korea. RM loved rap music from a very early age so he listened to lots of western rap and hip hop artists and would translate the English lyrics into Korean to better understand the songs. Nas is his favorite artist. Then, his mother gifted him all seasons of the show Friends and he watched it with Korean subtitles, then with English subtitles, and finally without subtitles. He said this is how he taught himself English. English is taught in South Korean schools too. RM reads English newspapers and articles, etc to keep up to date on what is going on in the world.

The rappers, the whole group, has always said how much black hip hop and rappers inspired them. There has been a few cultural appropriation issues in the past, but they have apologized and learned to do better. They always credit the artists who inspire them. J-Hope paid $3 million to the original artist of Chicken Noodle Soup so he could remake it. During his Lollapalooza performance he paid tribute to Ol' Dirty Bastard for Shimmy Shimmy Ya. And he did a collab with J Cole this past summer, Hope on the Street as J Cole is one of his main influences. You will love the Cyphers, especially Cypher Pt 3: Killer

rap monster or RM is the only one who can speak English perfectly in bts. He was born in Korea but learned English as a child. Grew up in Korea but RM Rapper was a huge fan of American Rappers and some underground South Korean Rappers he learnt to speak English from being a fan of the series 'friends' and he has a very deep voice. People couldn't understand him because of his deep voice to trained himself to speak with a voice that isn't as deep and his natural voice.

Once you dive in BTS and you get to know them one by one as a group snd on their personal journeys you learn to love them for who they are. These bois grew together, they're brothers, they're family. They been through things together and personally but stay tight no matter what. They're what we armys love. 💜

Though they all sing in English well and have some English songs they put out to cheer everybody up from covid blues. These are happy pop and not representative of their usual multi genre music. The only member of BTS fluent in English is RM. He learnt it by watching a box set of friends and his accent is really good. He also speaks Japanese and his native Korean. He has collaborated eith Little Nas X Honne and Wale. RM stands for Rap Monster. the other 2 rappers are Suga aka Agust D, and J Hope. The rest of BTS are 4 star vocalists. They have over 720 awards and all have set records with their solo work. They sold out Wembley Stadium in London(90, 000 seats) 2 evenings in about 2 days with the majority of their songs sung in korean. They are all composers, writers and producers. Suga has won awards producing for other artists too. They produce alotbof free content behind the scenes for fans. This was on the birthday of their debut. They always try to do something. May I reccomend 3 very different songs. Agust Ds DAECHWITA and BTS ON KINETIC MANIFESTO and FAKE LOVE.

I'm glad somebody else said it cuz I've been saying for years that RM sounds like a blk dude. The way he speaks, they way he raps. The song he did with Wale, I played for my sister she thought it was some blk dude Wale was singing with .. Now he did spend time in New Zealand when he was younger and speaks English fluently, but I think it's his rap influences are the reason he sounds like he does.

Each song they sang was a B-side track from their albums in chronological order (up to 2020 "BE"). This is just a small sample of the diversity of the genres they have covered over the years. All of their singles are AMAZING, but it's their B-side tracks that most ARMY are in love with. Singles can pull you in, but you need legitimate B tracks with substance to gain and keep a fandom the size of ARMY. :) Their musicality is unmatched and on top of that, they are truly 7 complete humble and thoughtful human beings.
