Regarding McDonald’s, I heard that you specifically have to ask for the BTS packaging otherwise you will get the normal packaging. Which I find absolutely ridiculous! WARNING ⚠️ rant following: How is that fair to BTS? When they did the Travis Scott collab you got the special bags regardless of you getting the actual meal and they had signs everywhere promoting the deal. Atleast in the few places I have seen in Missouri, you can barely even tell they have this promotion going on. The idea of a collaboration is to expand your name to people who may not have known about you before. This collab if done right would have been a great way for people who still have not heard of BTS in the US to get exposed to them and their music. They would get the bag or see advertising and possibly look up who they are. Now I don’t know what McDonald’s did when they did it with J Balvin, whether he got the Travis Scott treatment or the BTS treatment. Frankly, all of these collabs should be handled the same. By handling it differently it feels like your showing preference to one (American artist) over the others (foreign artists) which doesn’t sit right with me. To see it from another perspective, McDonald’s could have just been severely unprepared for the launch date as other places have had to push back their launch dates due to COVID. But if they were not prepared then they should have postponed the launch. And also who knows maybe HYBE knew that US was going to be done like this and was ok with it. But from my perspective I don’t think they would since they seem to be targeting the US market more with BTS and HYBEs recent expansion and future projects. To me it would be make more business sense to go hard at the US advertising not go soft. Sorry for the rant! On a happier note, Butter Hotter remix was sooo good! I have already watched the video so many times to just see what all is going on 😂
