East Asians, tend to have softer features in general which is probably why their men look so "pretty" to westerners. Kpop isn't a genre, its a whole industry in itself. BTS did not get popular for being "pretty". In fact, till about 3 years ago, they weren't this big. They are a very good looking bunch of men but so are the rest of hundreds of kpop groups. They became popular because they voice the youth. Their songs are deep and include social messages. They talk about everything a mainstream artist probably wouldn't. They are self-producing, versatile and talented in every aspect. they can rap like beasts, sing and dance. On top of that, they gain a lot of love for their humble attitude and hard working natures. There are 7 members, 3 rappers and 4 vocals. If you're interested in checking out more BTS, you should probably click on the cc, lol everyone complains that they don't know what they're saying but don't even switch on the subtitles smh.

V is abeautiful man, he does have unique features and we all probably agree with him being named the most handsome man last year. But, a westerner not used to korean features won't be able to see that. Their notion of "asian features" overpowers their sense of distinguishing unique beauty. There are a lot of uniquely beautiful artists in kpop, BTS isn't an exception and i am saying that as an ARMY.

They write, produce their own music and talk about social-political issues, mental health, struggles of youth etc. They were originally more like hip-hop group since 2 of them were underground rappers. They love their fans so much no matter what they do, they get death threats from people who claim to be fans and cry about them but they still love us, they are relatable, they show their true sides to us no matter how flawed they think they are, they dont lie and tell us that theyre happy and well rested, they tell the truth and say it’s hard and theyre exhausted and as a fan, that’s what I dread hearing but I like to hear the truth. They dont write love songs or songs about sex and drugs, they write songs about mental health issues, problematic people, the fucked up society and government and songs telling people to fuck what people say, you’re amazing. BTS are the most amazing and precious people of the world and they dont use their fame for themselves, they usetheir fame for charity, to express things you cant say in words, to show people that the world is fucked up and that they’ll always be there for you no matter what you’re going through, someone will be there, BTS will be there, ARMY will be there. I don’t listen to BTS just because they’re all good looking, that’s just one huge ass bonus, I don’t listen to BTS because I’m - like that interviewer called us all - one of those “mindless teenage girls” who listens to foreign music because “I don’t understand it and therefor it’s a black screen for me and I can think of it however I like and they look beautiful” no, I listen to BTS because they’re fucking amazing, they made it to billboard after all that fucking hate they got, they still get so much hate, and people say they make “controversial” lyrics. Yeah, they diss people in some of their songs but they have all the fucking right to with the amount of hate they got. And will some american interviewers and reporters just get it in their heads that BTS ARE A SOUTH KOREAN GROUP BASED IN SOUTH KOREA, IN ASIA, THEREFOR THEY WILL NOT BE MAKING ALBUMS IN ENGLISH, AND THEY WILL NOT BE WRITING ALBUMS ABOUT AMERICA AND W H Y ARE ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT AMERICA AND THEIR OPINIONS OF THINGS THERE.

Also, every group is different so there may be groups you like and some you don't. BTS plays a huge role in the fans' lives too and it's not just because of their looks. They keep their music diverse which keeps the interest. They've made songs about youth, government, women empowerment, depression and more. The fans have also mentioned that BTS have helped them cope with depression and also made a lot of their fans appreciate music more. From music production to music composing, cinematography, lyrics, rap, singing and more (Including me)

I'm surprised no-ones commented this already *le sigh*. BTS music videos have English subtitles if you click the CC button. Their lyrics tend to have a lot of deep meaning. Imagery example from 'Fake Love' - "I grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true." I also have a better explanation of the whole N word thing. In Korean different versions of the word naegu (I believe that's how it's spelled) means I am, you are, etc. though because it sounds so similar they even had to change the word to something else when they performed 'Fake Love' at the BBMA's in order to not cause confusion or backlash. The only thing Suga (the guy you thought said the N word) said in English was "It's all fake love". Your misheard lyrics interpretations were pretty funny.
