I feel really happy that they didn’t force them to explain everything in english, I feel like a lot of the emotional parts could be easily lost if they tried to explain it in a language that they’re not fluent, i really hate when interviewers make them explain such important things as the meaning of their music in english just to avoid the “problem” or “inconvenience” of putting subs in the video or having a translator with them. Im really glad how this video came out

Same here. Of course they can speak English when they want to, but for in-depth interviews and lyrics it makes so much more sense to use their native language so they can express themselves freely, with detail and nuance. As a fan I have no problem reading subtitles or lyric translations, and I'd never want them to sacrifice the poetry of their lyrics or their natural patterns of speech just to be more 'convenient'. Their words are why I'm a fan in the first place 💜

We should see BTS around here more often. Especially because their songs are in Korean, I feel like a lot of the meaning and of the word plays are getting lost in the translation process, so it would very much help to hear the meaning from the singers themselves. Let's be honest they have some of the most meaningful songs in the music industry. Life goes on was pretty straight to the point / easy to understand but there's some songs that are ALL about metaphors and Korean culture which we as international fans can't get around (Ddaeng?!?! Baepsae!!? Black Swan?!??! DAECHWITA??!!!)

i absolutely agree with you about the repetitive, superficial, and childish interview questions. but about the RA, it's always been notorious for picking and choosing based on visibility (or whiteness lol) for their main or pop categories especially. so doing things to please the RA or get their attention shouldn't be the goal because 1) they've been using BTS for marketing for years now, they KNOW they're deserving but, for a million different reasons we could list, they've been avoiding acknowledging their music and only now gave a nod to dynamite, which is undeniably bittersweet but the award will be symbolism nevertheless and i hope they (the boys) know that we have a deeper appreciation for their music besides what old white men in the industry believe 2) i think we can enjoy content like this merely for the fact that it allows them to speak about their craft and their art because at the end of the day they're artists who love their work and hearing people speak about what they're passionate about is always a pleasure :)

I am so glad Genius had decided to make a video with BTS explaining and breaking down the true meaning and lyrics behind “Life Goes On”. I wish this kind of thing would have been done years ago with so many of their other songs, then people would really understand just how genuine and meaningful and relate able BTS can really be. They have a lot of songs with shocking messages and meanings and emotions behind them, of people actually just tried to look up a song and type “English lyrics” then they’d understand, also watching BTS explain themselves is a really helpful thing. But I just wanna say respectfully to all the people who seem hung up on the fact that there are a lot of armies (kpop stans in general) who are toxic and that is their reason for not diving into different kinds of Korean music, I think that is a poor judgement to make. In my opinion, every huge artists have fans that are loyal and supportive and welcoming, and then there are the so called “fans” that are obsessive, disrespectful, and unwelcoming that don’t really care for the artist and want what only they want from them. I know kpop stans can be next level crazy as well, but just like there are a lot of toxic people in the world, there are many good people as well. That goes for the army to. There are so many of us loving army that just want the best for these seven boys that we truly adore, seven boys that love and appreciate their fans the most and we want to help support them and succeed so that they could continue to reach their goals just by being themselves and preaching what they preach. I think it’s important to put more attention on the good things, rather than the bad. I honestly don’t care for any army or any other kpop stan who is toxic (unless they’re actually coming to kill me) because if I did, then I would t have met so many other BTS fans and kpop fans that have a love for this kind of music and for these boys as well. And it’s not just one kind of people, but there are so many different kinds of people I have met, all different backgrounds, races, personalities, different genders and gender identities. And listening to BTS music has brought pure joy into my life, and not only are they loving young men with big hearts, but they are hella weird, goofy, funny, lit, all at once, they are many things. But to know this you should have to watch some of their videos or go to a concert, anything besides just listening to what you hear on the radio or rumors from other people. In conclusion, BTS’s existence is expanding across the globe and they’re gaining more fans and more people who want to know more about them, and I am so happy thats happening. People who don’t stan BTS or any other kpop group just because of the toxic part of a fandom, please do not use that as an excuse to not even give them a chance and to just make a poor judgement of them. If you have no knowledge of someone, do not make assumptions or judge them based off of what you hear from others. Even if you don’t want to get to know them or listen to their music, you still shouldn’t just make any judgement or assumption about them because you don’t know what kind of people they are. Best advice I could give, and I am not forcing BTS on anyone, I’m not saying that you should listen to them because they’re all great and stuff, not everyone will like them and I understand that, a lot of armies do, and that’s okay, but just don’t judge a book by its cover, because they’re book is really lengthy, and has endless stories packed with so many different experiences and emotions, there’s always at least one thing someone in the world can relate to with BTS. Again, just some honest and helpful advice on behalf of the non-toxic army. Take it how you wish.

I get your point, but I don't agree with it being "poor judgement" just because someone chooses to stay away from the extremely prominent toxicity in this fandom from its huge size (as you stated). If people want to disassociate themselves from something or someone for the sake of peace of mind there's nothing wrong with that. They shouldn't have to force themselves to pay attention to the 'good things' when it just might not interest them in the first place, especially if it's forced upon them. You can't judge someone's reasoning for not wanting to be a part of something then expect people not to make judgments/assumptions about bts since we "don't know what kind of people they are", when the reality is neither do you. You as a fan are still assuming they're good people (and that's not suggesting they aren't either, it's just stating a fact) based on what they say, do or act as they're still TV personas you don't know personally, regardless of the sincerity portrayed. So if you can make these assumptions there's no reason people who aren't bts fans can't have their own feelings and opinions, right? That in itself doesn't equate to them being judgemental because you think their reasoning is "poor" or "an excuse". People aren't obligated to give bts a chance just because they find the fandom obnoxious, which is still a completely valid reason and ultimately their choice and business. As long as they're not being overtly disrespectful, it shouldn't really matter to you anyways. Other than that, good for you for finding something meaningful to you.

Sometimes it hits me simply how good and kind these guys are. I remember them during the start of the pandemic in early march. How defeated they were, even if they did their best to not show it to ARMY. But they pulled themselves back up again, channeled their emotions into their craft, always with the goal of providing comfort, hope and a little bit of happiness, regardless of their own pain and despair. Kindness and comfort are always their first priority, in both their music and their actions. You rarely ever find people like this out there.
