I didn’t get to “the boys” until I listen to them and I liked MOST of their songs. I mean, I’m 47 over here and never in my life I like most of any artists songs. That’s when I became genuinely interested in these guys. Their talents and crafts are just unbelievable. I do (secretly) hope you get into this rabbit hole though lol. Not enough people in the comments that are recommending "UGH!" and that's freaking criminal. It's a song by the rapline of BTS. The lyrics are about the emotion anger and how it can be used as a tool to make change, such as fueling a protest, but instead it is often used maliciously to hurt others. Please consider reacting to this song and then right after, watch DKDKTV's "UGH! Explained by a Korean". There is a reason why BTS has such a huge and diverse following and it is not because they only appeal to young females. I'm 32 years old and have never cared about boy bands before I discovered them.

BTS started out as a hip-hop group and Dynamite and Boy with Luv are definitely their most pop-y songs. BTS is not confined to one genre, they like to explore and spread their wings and push their boundaries, which is why they have such a diverse discography and fans of all ages, colour and backgrounds, since there is literally something for everyone in their music. BTS also write and produce a majority of their music (dynamite is an exception) and the messages are either about their personal struggles and overcoming haters (like Mic Drop) or about mental health, political, and societal issues. They also use very clever wordplay and metaphors in their lyrics which get lost in translation unless you watch an explanation video, and teamed up with Unicef and spoke at the UN about their campaign "Love Yourself" which is about self-love and acceptance. So they are more than your typical boy band. As a North American I was drawn to them for their catchy songs, amazing choreo, and spectacular production value, but I stayed with them for their soulful lyrics (exception of Dynamite which is just a happy song and Mic Drop which is for their haters), strong work ethic, genuine love for music and their fans, humbleness, and using their platforms to spread awareness and positivity! They do not swear in their songs either, unless you check out the rappers' mixtapes. BTS has 4 vocalists (Jungkook, Jimin, Jin & V) and 3 rappers (RM, Suga/Agust D and J-Hope). If you like Mic Drop, I recommend checking out Not Today, Fire, On (Kinetic Manifesto Film - won an MTV VMA for choreography)and Fake Love. Black Swan and Blood Sweat & Tears are more art-sy and comtemporary. If you are a fan of rap, check out the rap line's songs Ugh (no MV or performance since it came out in 2020), Ddaeng (no MV) or Outro:Tear (no MV), as well as Suga/Agust D's solo songs Daechwita and Agust D - you won't be disappointed.

Im 39 years old and im kinda new to BTS. At first i thought the same thing, that they were probably just a poppy band like the ones i used to listen to in my teen years but boy was i wrong. These guys are probably the most versatile artist i've ever came across, They have a huge discography and most of their songs dont sound similar to each other. You cant put a label to BTS in terms of genre because they do them all. They are ridiculously talented, they not only deliver good music but the message behind their lirycs is amazing. Plus they have the most awesome live performances i ever seen. There is no weak ling in BTS all 7 of them are extremely talented, the rappers are no joke ( if you listen to some of their solo stuff you would never believe they are part of BTS, exaple "Daeschwita" by Agust D who is Suga's alter ego when he does music outside BTS) the vocalists give me chills (react to House of cards live performance, im not even kidding and they sound even better live) Anyway, im sure you'll find something to your taste in their bast discography.

Thank you for reacting once more to BTS. I must say the thing with BTS is - they do a lot of genres and they do not stick to one, as they constantly develop and challenge themselves. It is hard to put them in the box and they really do not want to be boxed. That is the reason why BTS fans normally ask to indicate the genre you like and they come up with best suggestions from their rich discography. I think if you will check Daechwita, On Kinetic Manifesto Film, Black Swan and Fake Love, you will see what we all are talking about. BTS is diverse and BTS live is just mesmerizing. I think it is hard regretting to know BTS, because you just receive so much art and talent, and develop the respect for their hard work and dedication. And best of all they have saying in their music productions and pour their soul in it. BTS story on rising to the top is a story of underdog and for that they receive fan adoration and love.

This is more indicative of BTS' diverse and eclectic style when it comes to music, and reflects their core hip hop influences. Dynamite is a fun bop that I absolutely adore because it was made for us - to lift our spirits during the shutdown. It is also the only song they have not written or co-written themselves - that's why it sounds very American and boybandy, which is great but it's not wholly who BTS are; they are so much more than that, otherwise they wouldn't be the ruling titans of the music industry. BTS will never be grouped into one genre. They are not KPOP anymore. They are producing their music and have an incredible knowledge about all genres. BTS is 100% fusing all genres into their songs. Marching band snares (ON), classical instruments (ON diff. version), historic Korean instruments. All their songs are multi layered, their voices are real (professional trained), ad-libs are out of this world. All MVs are 100% perfect and always have a large budget. The choreography is collecting awards. Live performances are even better. All members remained humble and organic, they are goofy, funny and will not flash their 'bank accounts'. Constantly doubting themselves and apologizing for stuff we never notice during performances. Their 'bags' are full of awards and still want to be better than before. I'm not sure about your motivation to give it a listen, but I know the BTS Universe is beautiful and a happy place and you may want to stay.

I am so glad you decided to explore BTS more. This and Dynamite are totally different as you said. You will find with every BTS song it is a new vibe and new adventure. They are incredibly versatile. I think I mentioned in my previous comments that Dynamite wasn't typical for them...it was a song released for ARMY (the fan base) to raise our spirits during Covid so it was light and airy. Keep exploring...I promise you won't be disappointed. If you really want to appreciate their dance moves...check out one of their dance practices. There's so much to discover with BTS! You'll find once you check out more of their work that you can't put them into one genre. BTS is a whole genre of their own. They are constantly experimenting with new sound. They not only sing and dance ,but they are heavily involved with producing and writing their own songs too! They don't write songs about trivial things but rather they promote self love, empowerment, they talk about social phenomenon and issues like mental health. There are too many videos to recommend but i think the video i find most enchanting is V's solo song "SINGULARITY" from BTS Love yourself: Tear album. You'd enjoy it if you like R&B, jazzy neo soul songs. It's really such a vibe!

Their music is SO diverse, and their lyrics typically have a LOT of meaning behind them. They mostly write their own music and have a huge part in producing it as well. Most of their music videos also have captions that you can turn on to understand what they're saying 🙂 You should check out Interlude:Shadow (this one showcases just the rapper, Suga) from their most recent album, it touches on a lot of deeper stuff. Along with Black Swan!

Hello, first of all, your eyes are gorgeous! There’s my intro... Second of all, Dynamite is the most “simplified“ of all BTS tracks (for me) for good reason- the entire song is sang in ENGLISH, obviously not their mother language, and not their comfort zone. They can’t do their usual rap, lol! I think it’s A GENIUS move tho- They did this, bec they have had well-reviewed songs in the past but kept getting denied radio play or chances for #1 spot on BB Hot 100 due to their songs were in Korean. (Ughhh!) It seems quality in the States is based on which tongue is used (Pardon my French!). Dynamite’s success (First #1 on BB history for a SKorean artist, record-breaking YT views in history), however simple the song maybe, is a STATEMENT about “diversity in the US music” scene.Perhaps now, they can finally have their chance to have that overdue Grammy (or at least a recognition by “the Academy”!) becuz there’s a whole lotta hip hop artists in LA that have been in AWE of this group. They’re not a just bubble gum cotton candy bop group- pls check their other file, and you’ll know what I mean. It goes way back from their debut year 2013- Or better yet, read more about the grps “history” and you’ll understand why or how they became this huge. Harvard business school had a study about this phenomenon. Thanks for the time, Till the next BTS react Video-
