J-HOPPEEEEE😂, he’s literally a living sunshine and my bias lol. I’ve listened to a lot of his stuff and he has the best jumpy flow game. Like the way he raps while adding random sounds like ‘ah’ ‘uh’ (I can’t properly explain via text) but basically his rap makes you wanna dance. Check out his song “Baseline” it says it all.

J-hope is our golden hyung, meaning he’s basically good at everything.Flowking, Dance, Rap, singing, acting, producing and so much more, that boy can do it all. He used to be a famous street dancer back where he came from before joining big hit, and personally I believe that he’s one of the most skilled kpop idols when it comes to dancing. He actually just learned how to rap when he joined big hit (is part of the rap and dance line), but he also got some amazing vocals (spring day bts tiny Desk concert will give you a good clue :) ). His personality is always bright and cheerful and can sometimes come across as a bit too much but at the and off the day he finds a way to make you smile :) and despite his sunny (and extremely loud) demeanor, he actually is an incredibly professional and hard working person, also a strict dance teacher to the other members and takes part in some of their choreography’s. Rm once said that when it comes to their performances, jhope actually sort of becomes his co leader and without him they wouldn’t be where they are nowadays. Sadly even today he gets not as much attention as he deserves.. this boy is so extremely talented and hard working he deserves the world. 💜 and lets not forget, he’s the stage presence himself, watch their outro: tear life performance and you’ll know what I mean :) other song you might check out only of him, Boy meets evil, daydream, airplane, ego 😋 I guess that’s basic knowledge you should be aware of and I support you supporting them and us, have a nice day ✌🏻

“UGH!” is about various sides of anger and allot of the pointless ‘outrage’, esp online. BTS are saying Anger if used productively can make positive changes in the world (like say as in a Protest for human rights), but how senseless anger can also cause harm, yes, turn into poop coming out of people’s mouths. Some of the verses addresses the topic about hate, esp online trolls, towards ‘famous’ people and they mention it can sometimes lead to really sad and dangerous outcomes that have caused people to harm themselves because of bullying. DKDKTV has a great explained by Korean video that goes in depth about the contents in the song. I think you’ll really like it because there is allot more hidden meanings and sarcasm.

I echo everyone who said you should check out the explanation of the lyrics. BTS talks in layers and there’s usually more than what’s on the surface. In UGH, they’re basically talking about 2 kinds of anger - one against injustice and is necessary for change; and the other is the anger towards people borne out of spite, jealousy, etc. they performed this LIVE at their most recent online concert. It’s really worth checking out. j-Hope’s entrance was SICK! Speaking of J-Hope, he is the resident ball of sunshine. He’s a street dancer and helps in the choreo. Whenever he does a solo dance - FUGGEDDABOUTIT!!! Having said that, when he raps, J-Hope disappears, and Hoseok shows up. The journeys continues, my friend. Enjoy!

Yesh like others have said the lyric translations just dont give these songs justice because there are so many double and triple entendres in the Korean language that get lost English. Their writing is just genius.. pretty much everything they say has a purpose. Really love how much you are diving in and enjoying their work and if hard aggression is your thing take a look at Aust D The Last. First time I heard it i was speechless... i remember thinking it was like some kind of self exorcism because the emotion is so raw... he is spitting some real stuff 💜 Oh yeah and J-Hope is definitely one of a kind but then all of them are the same lol. He is a phenomenal dancer his energy is incredible his rapping style is so unique but he is somtimes slept on simply because RM and Suga hit first but J-Hope sneaks up on everyone the more you get into them... plus he is a literal sunshine ball of good energy lol they are all very humble guys and pretty hilarious which you see the more you get to know their own individual crazy characters.. honestly cant say enough good things about them... but enough from me and 💜BIG LOVE 💜 to you 💜

You need to start reacting to live performances. Watch the Cypher Medley 2017 Memories. They are deep with their lyric so you will not get the depthness of their lyrics immediately and there is also a lot of Korean cultural reference. Explanation videos helps specifically DKDK TV explanation as they get the korean cultural reference. You will be more blown away once you fully understand. Though I think u r doing a good job in getting the gist of it.

Many BTS songs have explanation videos and some really need to be heard to understand the premise of the song as there are a number of aspects which are quite Korean so not quickly absorbed by Westerners. I heard you pick up the concept of "Ugh" being Cypher 5 which I personally feel is a projection of classification on a song not really designed to address BTS's haters and antis but the use of anger and hate generally. BTS actually advocates for the use of anger for the social good while denouncing misplaced and overused anger as devaluing what they believe to be an essential emotion making it impotent when needed for important causes. Yes there is some reference to BTS being the recipient of ongoing attacks but they are not showing reaction due to concern for themselves per se but rather what the whole process of wanton attacks is doing to recipients who have different levels of fragility and society as a whole. Cypher 4 by saying we are beyond the point where your attacks have much effect, finishing with Suga saying "Sorry but continue to look because I’m gonna earn more from now. By all means please live healthily" effectively ended the Cypher series. Some people feel "Ddaeng" is essentially Cypher 5 and this is closer to the truth. But in my opinion "Ugh" needs to be evaluated as a screed on the value and potential destructiveness of anger, not as attached to the theme of the Cypher series.
