"Blue and Gray" was written and produced by Taehyung, although this song was supposed to be in Taehyung's mixtap, but he decided to include it in this album and sing it with all the members. Tai wrote this song when he was going through a difficult time and exhausting isolation, to the point that he suffered from insomnia and depression, so he was trying to cure himself by writing the lyrics of a song until he made (blue and gray) on his hands ^^ That is why you see him saying at the end of the song that he had finally fell asleep when dawn fell, and that he was able to sleep at last after he wrote this song and these soft words Taehyung is a creative person and artist, just like the rest of Bangtan's members, the melody is composed by Tae Hyung too, but the rap line segments were written by them. So I hope our little Taehyung and all BTS members get their happiness and that sadness never approaches them.

BTS' rapline is just insane. they can literally flow in ANY type of beat they pick. Just take Blue & Grey....that song doesn't sound like it could fit rapping at all....but they made it work. And this song was actually originally only V's! He wrote it and showed it to the guys (it was meant for his mixtape) and they liked it so much that they asked him if they could use it for the album!!!

Hii brother do know "Blue and Grey" was majorly written, composed and produced by Taehyung, V is the main composer along with others It was originally intended to be on V’s mixtape and was entirely in English. However, all members liked it so much that they decided to change some of it and put it on the album. and so rapline wrote their parts and V changed lyrics from English to Korean. Tae wrote this song when he was suffering from burnout and possibly depression. He said this a couple of times, I also think that’s why the members wrote such moving messages to him on the rolling paper during the fiesta. Makes this song even more emotional. blue and grey was made to be part of Taehyung mixtape (he is main writer and producer in this song along with 2 of his friends) it was supposed to be all in English, we got to hear a snippet of it in " in the soop" but the members liked it and part of the lyrics was translated to Korean - the singing parts- and the song was altred to fit the rap verses written by our rapline. Tae wrote this song about the burouts he felt as a way of coping, we are extremely proud of him. I can't even imagine having this fully in English with taehyung's soulful voice the whole song, we are already crying mess over it.

20 NOV,2020 album got released and after some days weverse magazine dropped and I still get tears listening to Blue and Grey cause Tae wrote it when he was in depression, when he was deep , when he wanted to end his journey, when he thought that singing became his everyday routine but not a special feeling , when he thought “will their be an end of this tunnel?” , and the way he composed that song and we can feel every single emotion 🥺🥺🥺😭 I love him sm I can help 🤧❤️

I love every single song on this Album, but Blue and Grey is one of the best songs I've ever heard. The melody, the musical production and the lyrics were all top teir. However the emotional gut punch is what makes it so special. In terms of emotional weight the closest song of theirs might be The Truth Untold, but that song was mostly telling a story whereas Blue and Grey is deeply personal.

no he didn't. composing is completely different from producing and songwriting. his original composition is only "telepathy" and he had a part in songwriting and producing in some of the other tracks in this album. he did initially have some more of his original compositions that he intended to include in this album, but they wanted to give all members an equal shot at including songs, so he let the other boys include their compositions as well

But you will get there don’t worry :) also the translation channel you are watching is not very trustworthy for good lyrics translation, so I hope you can look up the real lyrics if you have free time! This album is amazing ! And even better in order, the progression is very well done ! But I have ONE thing to tell you after watching your reaction to this album : I watched all your reactions about BTS, I know you have done all their title tracks, but pretty much no b-side. You will love it, there is a lot of masterpieces in their b-sides. And you were asking during the reaction, about the songs where they were not all there. They do that a lot actually in all of their albums, there is tracks with sub-units, (some with just the vocal line, some with just the rap line, some "random" sub-units like here with 2, 3 or 4 members, and some solos) there is a lot of choices ! And I think you should start with "Friends" from their last album Map Of The Soul : 7. It's a duet with V and Jimin (yep, those two) about their friendship.
