So American interviewers have basically been asking them the same superficial questions for three years now... That’s why there is so much footage of them being silly in the US - that’s basically the only way to respond to those questions. The new album is actually the first time that they’ve actually really been asked about their music and the meaning behind it. And, yes, they’re very close and they constantly show their love for each other. That’s one thing ARMYs love so much about them.

In Korean culture it's called skinship, when people who spend tons of time together are comfortable with each other. Korean culture is different than western culture where they do not shame men for having female tendencies or crying. Also since the boys basically came from nothing with the company they often shared the same bed 2-3 of them during tours and even in every single season of Bon Voyage including 2019 they still share beds. V is very cuddly and always needs someone/something to hold onto while sleeping and the guys often joke about it. There is a cute clip of V holding JK's legs while they were sleeping in Bon Voyage season 3. Jimin and V also share the same room a lot because V used to have nightmares and would go to Jimin for comfort, thus the reference to the Dreamcatcher in the song Friends, that Jimin gave V. The big difference between BTS and other Idols is that most Idols when BTS debut'd and the few years after were very cardboard cutout. Matching outfits, never showed emotion or limited reactions while at public events, and than well you had BTS driving thru on a monster truck slamming sterotypes and doing there own thing. They literally can’t keep their hands off each other But that has a lot to do with their culture as well, they’re not shy about hugging each other or hold hands or whatever. They are very expressive with their bodies. When they spoke of dating, l always take it as they find it impossible to date as normal people do, so if they want to go out to eat, ride a bike or anything with someone they will go out with another member .RM and Jimin often ride a bike together ,Jin and Suga go fishing together, whatever they like doing ,that someone else likes doing ,they do it together it is probably the closest thing to a date that they can have at this time, but it is just like we go to the football with a friend or go shopping or lunch with a friend. As for girlfriend/ boyfriends we have no idea and unless they say they are in a relationship with someone we don’t know and it really has nothing to do with us. Their culture is very touchy feely and is sometimes it seems a bit more than just friends to the west but that is how they are and personally l love their interactions. When Jin said fingers it is because he has a deformity in his fingers and and would love to have beautiful hands like the rest of them ,so he didn’t mean anything by it , he just wished for his fingers to be beautiful too.

bts likes to poke fun with ships sometimes, like jhope and suga whenever they do things together they refer to it as SOPE (their ship name) but they don’t like crazy shippers who make hours of content analyzing their every interaction and claim they’re dating or whatever. V has spoken out about his distaste towards it a few times I think. I think since they’ve known eachother for so long, they lived with eachother and still do, they are super comfortable, hence touchy feely? Idk it could also be Korean culture. Ik In American culture being that touchy feely with guys isn’t normalized (toxic masculinity? 😒) but Korean culture may be a little different? It’s my speculation. anyways just letting u know to steer clear of ship videos and such :)

It's definitely part of the culture. Guys are affectionate with each other, especially when they're young (you won't see 30+ year olds being as touchy-feely, but teens and 20s definitely.) BTS are also REALLY close, because the longest time they've spent apart in the last decade has been maybe a month at most. So, they have less boundaries with each other.

In Korea they have something called "skinship" where it's totally normal to be physically affectionate (usually between same genders) to express their care and friendship ^_^ That's why in kpop especially we see a lot of idols interact with each other that way ^_^ But we almost never see any male and female idol interact with skinship as even a friendly hug between a girl and a guy in Korea is seen as "oh, they must have feelings for each other." hehe I hope this helped :)

You don't need to react to them, it's just that compilation videos aren't the best way to get to know them 🥺

Oh yeah, they're definitely super touchy-feely, but it's more of a mix of them having lived together for years and Korean culture in general. You'll find that Jimin in particular touches everyone's thighs a lot/clings onto people (he does it with everyone, but the former especially with RM in American interviews - it's his way of showing support ✨) As practically everyone has already mentioned, if you want to see more of this chaotic side of theirs you absolutely need to watch their BTS RUN! episodes - they're so freaking funny, and you'll get a lot of fandom in-jokes that way! Just make sure to edit the content in a way that avoids copyright strikes (the content belongs to the VLive app, so it can get a bit more dicey) if you want to upload reactions of it.

Haha if you were surprised by that little bit of skinship between RM and Jimin, then you are in for a RIDE lol, but seriously Jimin is one of the most physically affectionate members, and as someone who grew up in Western society where I haven't seen men show physical affection other than like a bro hug, chest bump, or slap on the back, it took some getting used to for me. But I absolutely love it and their bonds. And yes, there are a TON of ship videos out there, and while some are cringey, some of the milder ones I enjoy as tribute to their friendships. I personally find it fascinating how 7 guys with such strong, distinct personalities are able to come together so seamlessly as a group. I like watching some ship videos to see individual friendship dynamics. Like V and Jimin or "Vmin" are BFFs and call themselves soul mates. (Even put it in their song Friends). I find their friendship SO precious and can only hope to have such a friend in my life. And Suga and JHope or "Sope" are another of my favorites. JHope always seems to bring Suga out of his shell and the seem to have so much fun together. Those are just a few examples. Sorry for going off on a tangent haha. But I can't wait to watch as you continue your roadmap. I just know you will fall even deeper in love once you see more of their personalities. They are HILARIOUS!!

So, a lot of others have probably already said this, but definitely check out the Run BTS series either on Vlive or Weverse, it's free on both platforms. You wouldn't be able to react to them on KZbin, unfortunately, since they often get copywriter strikes. But I have seen other reactors react to them on different platforms like Patreon or Twitch so that's a potential option. But you can always just watch it on your own too if you wanted. However you choose to watch it, just make sure you have the English subs on, they are hilarious (and the editors are also pretty funny, lol)

Sometimes the members in small groups or just duos go out on their personal time and hang out. Yes this is a crack video🤣. Be aware that they are being edited to look this way. It’s not uncommon for guys to be affectionate in Korea when they are really close. You will see the guys hug, hold hands, lay on each other etc. I think it’s really cute. So ONE thing I'll mention with the learning korean: beware, korean combines sounds! The ch and j sounds can be similar, as well as g/k, d/t,b/p. Like the word RM taught the interviewer, jjeoreo, sounds a lot like 'chuh-ruh' (but not quite, the 'eo' sound is complicated lol) Basically, yes join us in trying to learn korean and when you see a word, think creatively xD also, hello and goodbye are pretty much the same word (annyeong)! I wonder if anyone has mentioned that Army's also love BTS's pets. The most popular pet (I believe) is V's dog Yeontan. There are compilations of him from puppy till now. Oh you haven't seen anything yet, yes they are proper crackheads and we love them for that :D Check out "bts taking over america (as they should) " by seokjin myfeels, its fairly recent video too. Also yes they are very touchy feely and not afraid to show their appreciation for each others talents (or visuals). This differs from western (or american) notion of the usual intimacy between males in general, korean culture is different in that. But also wanna say that people will probably tell you that their physical intimacy doesn't mean they are gay/dating each other and while yes that is completely true it doesn't mean that they are straight/have secret girlfriends either. We don't actually know anything about their current relationship status or sexual preferences, those they are keeping private as you said. So yeah we dont know if they gay/bi/straight/whatever but they are quite inclusive when they talk about these things in general terms, and often gender neutral. And yeah shipping the members is part of the fandom too, but it's quite sensitive topic and there are many fans who strongly oppose it too.

Yayy Landon💜💜💜You always get me into a nostalgic mood every time you post a video reviewing the boy's early works. As a Korean we do not hesitate to be affectionate or touchy when it comes to friends so we always question the masculinity borderline the westerners set and the reversed questions they have against our expressions. (But I guess it's a culture difference so its understandable) None of the armys don't know the members personally, so I can't speak for them, but in their early years on several Korean radios all the members did share their personal girlfriend relationships they had in their past before their debut. I think some of the stories were included in the 'BTS are just people' video. Make sure to check them out to understand that they are just normal people like us, struggling in their stressful lives (However I am in no place to say that they are 100% straight nor any other sexual preferences) Also while I'm at it, I never wrote essays as a comment but since I love your content so so much and I'm pretty sure you have worked super hard to make sure you cover a lot of their artistic content in a clean timeline, (I was so touched when you manually made your own road map to the boys bc I felt your sincerity) may I suggest some end of the year performances they had? In Korea, idols consider the end of the year award performances very seriously since it is the best platform to show the audience their round-up of works they have done throughout that whole year and BTS takes them very seriously and makes it complex to a whole another level.
