I found myself checking my Discord messages on my phone while I was having a nice breakfast out with my husband. He didn’t say anything but I could tell he wasn't pleased. It was a rude awakening for me to find I'm a bit too involved with this Smart tech myself. I was doing something I used to frown at when I saw other people doing it. My first phone was meant for emergencies only but now my phone is like an extension of my hand. This song and your breakdown of it has hit me hard. I need to do better.

This song 🤣 BTS has the best sense of humor while delivering a serious message. 💜 Loved your thoughts on this. I’m one of those who were alive before all this technology. I could talk for hours about it, but I will keep this shortish. Before smart phones, we had large map books to carry in the car while traveling. We planned our trips in advance and plotted the route to take with the maps. The map couldn’t speak up and tell you when to turn or exit, so you closely monitored so you didn’t get lost. If you did, you pulled the maps, checked what mile marker you were on and found yourself on the map. If you were traveling with people in another car, in advance you made arrangements what to do if you got separated, and/or you had CB radios in the car. Smart phones with GPS directions was a wonderful thing. But like most things created for our benefit, humans have a way of finding the dark side of them. Social media started as a way to keep in touch and now, well we all know the dark side. Love that even then at their young ages they could see that phones should never completely take away from face to face interaction. 💜

I try very hard to be present when I'm with people, especially if I haven't seen them in some time. I now live in a different state then both of my sons & when I travel to Chicago to see my family I make a concentrated effort to only bring the phone out to share pics of things we have been discussing to visually share my out of state life & to take pics of my favorite people/places to remember my trip. I specifically don't post on social media, don't take non-essential calls & avoid being on it at all when I'm with my family & friends....I just wish I'd get the same courtesy sometimes

I’ve read a few comments that sometimes say that their first experience of a song is with my video so I often try to keep more quiet during my listen and save the more reactive loudness for a re-listen. Experiencing things with ARMY for the first time still blows me away 💜

Critical thinking and problem solving skills are taught, but in college, not necessarily lower levels. You can not get a college degree without taking College Algebra and you can not use a calculator for the final. They also have critical thinking classes and incorporate critical thinking methodology in some other classes. Such skills can also be taught in high school, but they don't usually have classes specifically to teach critical thinking.
