BTS is one thing. The rap line is another. As rappers they are true hip hop and they write from their soul to let the frustration of what they’ve gone through come out. All these are about their haters, not girls or other bands. It’s a way to let those who hated on them know they fed off of their negative comments to grow even bigger. You can only imagine how much s-it they had to hear from those so-called underground rappers who used to know them back in the day and then criticized and turned their backs on them. Just imagine how hurt you’d be if you were in their shoes. They used those feelings to write their cyphers.😢 They are amazing!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜

Sorry for flooding your comment section. For RM's part in Cypher part 4, haters were always hating on his everything. From his hair, to his sun glasses, his name "Rap Monster", his looks (they said he's ugly and is not fit to be and idol), he received death threats, hence the part when he said "Because I'm breathing, sorry bae". The "bae" could mean "babe" or junior/senior (hu"bae"/sun"bae" in Korean) in the industry.

About the "sorry bae" parts, it's actually about all the comments RM getting from all of those haters. Them mocking his name, pronouncation, diction and even his appearance. He was sorry for them because despite of all those words and praying for him to die, he still remain breathing and healthy.

They were crapped on by the industry as a whole which kept saying they can’t rap and aren’t hip hop. If I remember right 1 was directed to the general music and hip hop industry that ridiculed them as wannabe sellout rappers that turned mainstream into idols. 2 they did an interview when they were 19 that was supposed to be a celebration of hip hop but the entire panel of older artists and critics, especially one guy, totally disrespected them, so this was their response to them. 3 was them flexing saying look where we are as artists despite all your hate. And 4 was their we not mad anymore. We have moved beyond the hate and we love who we are. No one told Suga tho as on 4 he still crapped on people 😂💜

BTS has so many haters we can’t even list everyone. But a big portion and the ones that hit them hard was the underground rappers that used to be their “friends”. We’re learning more and more about all their hate and mistreatment in their new book. BUT Suga did say that his diss tracks aren’t targeted at anyone, but if you take offence to it, then maybe it’s for you 🤭 I am a 90s hip hop girl and I haven’t been listening to new school rap. Like u said, it’s all about violence, money, and women. Boring…. And even though I don’t understand Korean, I really appreciate that I can hear every syllable in BTSs raps. Whereas I’m fluent in english, but can’t hear what these American rappers are rapping. Or even saying most of the time In cypher 4, it’s still a diss track, but the message is “hey haters, get a life, do something, go love yourself”. I think that’s a very positive spin to talking shit and I dig it. You are right, their IQ is much higher For recommendations: Ugh - watch dkdk explanation vid too Ddaeng - dkdk explanation vid is a must as there’s too much word play that people will miss out Rm - joke Jhope - lollipalooza. He was such a rock star!! 🔥🔥 Suga - his recent concert. Also 🔥🔥 I don’t usually like the sweet stuff either. I do listen to BTSs sweet stuff now and love it tho because each song was written at a time in their personal lives and sends a message. Once I started taking them seriously, I learned about their journey and those sweet songs now hit differently because u know why they wrote it. It’s not some lovey dovey song about some ambiguous highschool crush. Also, many times it’s not even a love song. It’s a song with deeper meaning disguised as a love song

I will just say a little but RM and Suga got their start at the young age of 13 in underground hip hop. When they made the decision to join an idol group they were heavily hated on by the hip hop community so this is addressing all the hate they have received over the years. They were climbing high in the community and the hate was mostly from their peers and friends they had worked with. It’s heartbreaking but they got theirs in the end. In fact one of their biggest haters is in jail for assault on a fellow artist. 💜

When RM’s saying ‘bae’ it’s short for seonbaenim which is used as an honorific to someone who’s in a senior position to yourself. The fact that he’s shortened it to bae is another insult. The cyphers were aimed mainly at people in the underground scene who were slating them saying that they’ve sold out and they’re not proper rappers and to others in general who were looking down on them. The only obvious call out was aimed towards an American\Korean rapper called Bfree who was from Hawaii. He told them during a radio interview that they were women for wearing makeup and weren’t proper rappers. ✌️💜

Hmm I want to say it all and for once BTS dosen't have problem with Big Bang, actually BTS was fan of them, always and now have a good realationship. And they didn't hide they were fans they shared their music and sang covers of Big Bang songs. so yeah I don't know from were it come, hate or something, like yeah Big bang was biggest boy group from second generation, and still is big group, but it wasen't ever problem in any way for BTS, or Big Bang had any problem with BTS getting bigger, all groups did theirs thing. What you talk about is "fans wars" it is actually delulu fans that fight over groups even when groups don't have problems with each other really. This is going a lot around. There were really few situations that there was some beef directly from bands. But BTS never responded directly (in name) to hate. BTS had problems with rappers from underground sceane, hate came from "hip hop lovers" that hated that BTS was mainstream, and how they looked, then media and industry hated them bc they were like in america you will call it "independent artists" and kpop as industry is simply corp, influence, reputation and money. And they don't come out from any of this things, but did very good and with time great. So if you go from beginning of their carrier then you will have more hard songs, but generalny on every album you have different set of songs, hard songs, sweet songs, dance, ballad, chill, rap, fun songs, very heavy in topic and very light but still important. This is why they have so many fans bc they have something you can find for yourself on every album and even when you are into their rap and heavy side with time you get into theirs softer side bc simply you want to know their music better, bc you liked them as people, hmm. Also soft songs or sounding sweeter ofter are quiet sad and here comes understanding of song and why it is like it, bc there is a lot bittersweet songs in their catalog. Hmm I would say maybe you should watch their first song that come out, their introduction to world, "No more dream" from 2013, you will see how they started. Who people hated. I think a watched all your BTS reactions or most and except Dynamite ( that was pick up song in pandemic) I didn't see you watch sweet song from them so, were this last part discusion comes from. (?!) Like Agust D stuff, were it is soft and sweet? Outro Tear, Fire, Run BTS, Mic drop is any of this song sweet and love song, etc. I don't want to be rude or something but it simply was weired for me, what you said at the end. You should think about what you said and look up what songs you listen to bc either you said things without thought or you projecting opinion that BTS is sweet pop band from somewere else. Not to say words like "I'm a guy so sweet songs are not for me, bc I'm I guy I don't need love songs" really? So guys can't like sweet, lovely songs bc they are guys. I think you should watch last few minutes on this video and think what you said. But hmm if it is really how you see world and music, it is your would and your music, so I guess ok. Maybe I missunderstand you guys. Like I said this last part was simply very odd. Not to say ccalling love songs crap. It is ok if it isn't your taste but it dosen't mean it is bad music. I only say it bc from what I seen you didn't even listen to their most popish songs. And songs people recommended you so far had more rap and heavier beat or instruments or were more energetic. And they don't really have that much love songs, most love songs or songs that sounds like love songs are for fans or themself or world. This is also why their are this big bc fans feel loved and seen, bc there is so many songs for them.
@TripTipsPodcast Жыл бұрын
You are right love songs aren’t our thing. However we try to keep an open mind and relate to some of their songs that are not our favorite. We really try our best.
@magdalenagabrowska8169 Жыл бұрын
@@TripTipsPodcast I'm not saying you are not trying begin open or traying to get korean music bc I see you try to understand things. Also I'm not saying you have to like love songs, this wasen't about it, I only said your wording was very odd. So it is ok to enjoying mostly rap side or raw side or rockish, heavier side. There is no formula here.

Start with the harder songs first but hold off on yiur decision to close the door on the rest of their discography. I have seen a lot of hardcore rap and metalheads insist at the beginning of their BTS journey that they will only listen to the harder stuff and 90% of them get through those songs and want more so they start reacting to the more vocal line songs and are won over. Just be open to it if that day comes for you. For all of them they brought up the same point of the other content being music that men dont listen to, but they most often become converted due to the quality of the music. Granted, most of them are rappers or metsl vocalists who are passionate about lyrics. With your bsckground as a drummer the instrunentation and beat may be a driving factor. So i get it.

Yeah I’m not as connected to the lyrics and vocals as I an to the percussion and bass lines.

@DANDJREACT I can totally see that. I hope we can find some good kpop band with more aggressive beats! BTS has a very small catalog that fit that, but at least you have enjoyed some of the solo stuff. Also, I don't know why my stupid phone creates so many typos. I correct them and then post and there are a million more. It is a bit embarrassing as a tech writer. 😢 it could be the fact that I used an iPhone for the past 15 years and am now on a galaxy s22. Their Cyphers is not about another group. The Cypher Pt. 2 & 3 were, I think, about this rapper, B-Free, who raps with one flow throughout his song but then kept talking mad sh*t about them when they first debuted, just because they were rappers turned into "idols". I think he's also the one who raps in English (which Jhope was talking about in his part).The other Cyphers might be about that same guy but at the same time, it is for the other haters (in the industry) in general.

BTS in their early years were ridiculed & taken for granted.
