I didn't go through all the comments, so I'm not sure if someone has already answered this. The Givenchy reference I believe has to do with Hollywood stars wearing Givenchy at high profile events like the Oscars, the Grammys, and Cannes. I think usually big name stars wear Givenchy at such events and wearing Givenchy brands you a star of the first order--as such things go. So, RM is saying he doesn't need to wear Givenchy to be recognized/acknowledged as a star.

I'm not quite sure, but there were interviews where they were asked why they don't release ciphers anymore is because they aren't consumed by anger anymore. Ciphers were their way of calling out the hate, and expressing the anger they felt towards hate towards them, and Cypher Pt 4 is the grand finale of the ciphers, for in that cipher the main message is to love yourself instead of hating on them. Who knows though, there's been so much hate coming their way, especially this year, so who knows if they'll make something out of that.

RM twists it around, so he's basically saying that he IS a butcher and WILL use hateful words against them. 9:40 "...all the unnies call me pippi". It's not strong like Longstockings. 😉 Ppippi is korean slang for pager, so it's basically "all the girls keep calling (for) me" 13:10 Suga's saying he'll just feed and grow off of them. (A starfish is a *bottom* feeder) - Doolset is good at explaining references like these. (My comments are not from Doolset though) - and yes, Cypher 2 is my favorite too. 😎👍

Yeah, Supreme Boi was a trainee when Big Hit was trying to choose the members of Bangtan, he had the oportunity to debut, but declined because he didn't like the idea of becoming an idol or the restrictions and extra-work it would require. That was probably for the best, because he's one of those rebellious people who like to be provocative and not exactly "politically correct". He seems a little bit like a contrarian to me, and someone who doesn't like like being told what to do (this is just an assumption on my part.) He works as a in house producer for Big Hit, his production style/preference is actually pretty recognizable: Cypher pt 2 & 3, Base Line, Hansang, UGH, Baepsae, Cat & Dog, etc. (Although he does have credits in other type of songs too.) He's the same age than RM and Hobi.

basically, Supreme Boi was is in the original member lineup for BTS but left due to BigHit changing BTS’ direction from being a hip-hop group to a K-Pop idol group and became a producer for BigHit instead but he's no longer a producer under BH

I love Cypher part 2 the most, too! It's most hitting one in my mind. I think to imagine their cypher when they are grandpas is really funny. But on the other hand, I hope they won't have a reason to do a Cypher anymore when they are 70....

Cypher 3 is definitely my favourite! They addressed the seniors and junior rappers in the industry. My personal opinion, since this was released in 2014 and was around the same time Bobby took digs at RM in 'Come Here' as well as most idol rappers in 'YGGR', I think this was RM's response to it all. Not only was RM wittier in his lyricism, he switched up different flows that includes mocking Bobby's two-three word rap from YGGR (you need to watch RM's live performance to see the reference), pretty much RM states that Bobby's rap skills is equal to someone suffering aphasia (a condition that robs you of the ability to communicate), his skills are generic/sloppy and will never take flight (no need for aeroplane mode), he just ain't on the same level. I would recommend checking out the lyrics from Doolset, they're better translated and she breaks down the Korean wordplay. When you go through it, you can't help but believe BTS are geniuses. Looking forward to the next reaction! 🤩

I really like your reactions because you don't just pic one member you appreciate and watch every member's work and understand it . I saw very few people giving attentions on namjoon's lyrics . Like these are masterpiece . You know that every rapper has there different style, different approach of lyrics . They are not the same so someone can't say he is best or other one is best. J-hope is not from underground but he is rapping since almost more than 8 years so people shouldn't count him less . In hip hop only rapping speed don't make you a best Rapper these are so many aspects which are required .

Supreme Boi used to train with them but later on decided to stay as producer, if I'm not mistaken. Funny thing is whenever I'm stressed from work, I destress by playing BTS Cyphers in the loudest volume I can tolerate, bang my head to it or jump or whatever then I'll be fine. Yep, I know what a tear drop symbolizes in hip hop ☺️ and he did kill the track.

This is from my standpoint : This song come out when BTS started to gain media coverage in western. At the start, the racism towards them was very bad, really really bad. They called them “asian gays”, “bowl cut (their 1st appearance in BBMA)” and many more. After their 1st win of BBMA, its become hot topics in twitter. I am sure the boys seen that. They called them “asian …”. The lyrics that goes “sings in english” not only points towards haters/rappers in korea but also for the western haters. Supreme boi was a line up for the original BTS before Bang PD changed BTS to kpop group. When the company first made BTS , it was originally a hip hop group. Supreme boi decline to join BTS as an idol group but remains in bighit as a producer

Cypher 2 involved a direct response by RM and Suga to being publicly insulted by rapper B Free. So Cypher 2 was a targeted rap battle evisceration more so than simply being part of their war with the rap underground as to their legitimacy as being real rappers given they chose to be on the Idol platform. I think you probably found it more engaging then Cypher 3 in part because rap battle when done well is really entertaining and it Cypher 3 was kind of a broad attack. I also like you prefer Cypher 2 as RM and Suga go harder in my mind to really accentuate a skills in your face you can't match me style of rap battle. RM also does this in Joke against a different rapper.
