And BTS' RAPLINE ARE definitely not the typical kpop idols, they are ARTISTS, MUSICIANS who care about their art, who care about what they are putting out in the world. They give a piece of themselves to the art they create. Thats why their music is living and breathing.💜💫

In cypher part 2 RM and Suga had longer verses because they were dissing (or responding) B-Free a “rapper” who talked bad about them saying they were not real rappers because they were in a K-pop group and called them girls for putting on stage make up. I love tiraderas (diss tracks) and honestly they got his ass good!! the go back to Hawaii line is my favorite since the guy was from Hawaii lol also Suga responds in his Agust D song I don’t know if you’ve heard it yet but it’s also very good! As for the cyphers, check out the cypher live medley after watching the lyrics videos for cypher 3 & 4 it’s a whole experience 🔥🔥

You meantioned that you were really surprised by cypher 2, where the cadence and style kept changing for each individual rapper. For people who don't understand what triptych means and why cypher 2 is named this. Triptych is a work of art that is divided into 3 sections. Basically, BTS rapping is a work of art, which it is. Btw, BTS is they're own category. They are an evolution from k-pop traditional music imo.

After doing all the cyphers, you have to check Outro: Tear, also by the rap line. The lyrics are so important as they were made when bangtan was thinking of disbanding, so they are pretty deep, but you MUST watch the live performance because it's so freaking good hahaha ^^

9:30 This line could be a play on their name and BH, but I took it as meaning their 2nd single from their debut ep 'We Are Bulletproof pt2' that did relatively well, as in was a big hit...this cypher is part of their 2nd ep that was released a few months later. BangPD was pretty insistent from the beginning that they stay true to their own experiences which may be why they weren't flexing with money (yet), and while that isn't a big part of the cyphers the cyphers that come later as they started to earn more did include that too. I never really picked up on that, love that you did!

i like how u picked up on the old style of hip hop they used because that's what bts built their musical foundation on! idk if yk but suga and rm were underground rappers before they became trainees so them along with other hip hop performers/trainees taught jhope about hip hop and helped build his love for it too. that's why there's so many older songs with hip hop beats or just has that sort of feel to it :)
