This is not a 'break up' song. Shortly, 'Fake love' is about loosing yourself due to trying to please another person/people (not necessary a lover). The song is a part of 'Love yourself' albums. When it comes to BTS, you should keep an open mind. Love exists not only between couples btw. There are also family, friends, fans and yourself. This is my old comment about 'Fake love': The meaning of this song is when you love someone, you try to please them. You do things, which you usually don't, and behave just like you think you are supposed to but not like you want to. You loose yourself in this love, becoming someone else, and ask that person in the mirror 'Who are you?'. Is this true love when you have to pretend just to please someone, when you forget about real yourself? No, it's fake love. And there is an answer: before loving someone else you have to learn how to love yourself. Right after 'Fake love' in 'Love yourself: tear' album BTS released 'Epiphany' ('I'm the one I should love') and 'Idol' ('You can't stop me loving myself') in 'Love yourself: answer' album.

first of all I would change the "man and woman" to "romantic relationships" or something that includes non hetro romantic relationships since you don't know the different members sexuality and they don't usually use gender specific pronouns in their songs. Secondly it's rarely about the romantic love or relationship in songs but it is about romantic love in some songs and in some songs just love in general and in other songs other forms of love too, like self love, or love for friends or ARMY etc.

It's more than a break up, it's disappointment with yourself. Knowing that you didn't love yourself enough not to fall into the pressure of changing who you are for the one "You love" when really the one you love doesn't truly love you, but the version of you they created. Like then saying goes, "How can you love someone when you don't even love yourself?" In so, they turn themselves into a "pretty doll". This can be interpreted in so many other ways. For one, they are Idols. This could be addressing fake fans. The fans that only love the clean cut version that make sales and charts, but not the ordinary everyday men that are growing older and becoming wiser. The thought of, "Would you love me if I wasn't this Pretty doll, this Idol." Their songs have a lot of meaning, messages behind them. Everything has a concept. It has been ongoing for the last soon to be 8 years. The deeper you guys go into BTS, you will see. It really up to you to interpret what the song means.

there are so many hidden messages in the song. the chocolate bars, the water that fills the room, the fire,... ill try to explain it the best i can. so basically bts has been doing this HUGE storyline since the start of their career. the storyline happens in the music videos, the webtoon (they brought out a webtoon to explain the storyline better) and the notes. the notes are little note books that come with the albums they put out. so basically j-hope who was laying on the chocolate bars was abonded as a child, his mother left him at a park (thats why there is also a scene where he sits infront of a door and the room is filled with park stuff) with only a chocolate bar in his hands. jimin has been locked up in a mental hospital and he tried to drown himself in a bathtub thats why the room he was in filled with water. SUGAs mother died in a fire and he tried to k!ll himself by burning himself thats why his room started to burn. taehyung is in a room with cell phones because he once attacked his abusive father with a knife and after he did that he tried to reach out to RM who was his role model. he tried to reach out to him over the cell phone but RM didnt pick up the call. RMs room has those handles in his room because he met a girl at the bus (if i remember it correctly) also his room looks like a container. that container resembles his old house, he lived in a container because he was really poor. jin tries to save the flower in that glass while his room is exploding. jin was dating a girl and they wanted to meet up. jin knew about her favorite flower so he wanted to buy her those but when they met up the truck that was suppose to bring him the flowers, hit her and she died. jungkooks room is dark but he is always observing the boys. in every scene you can see how jungkook looks at the boys. (he is on the other side of the mirror in RMs room, when jin looks at side of his room you can see how he is looking at jungkook, he is in the keyhole of j-hopes room, he looks through that hole in jimins room, he is right above taehyungs room and he looks through a hole in SUGAs room) the boys know that jungkook is watching them. i dont want to get too much in the storyline because its WAY too long for me to explain it here but you guys can watch videos to it on youtube that explain the storyline ( the best are from the youtuber xCeleste, she explains it really detailed and understandable). the storyline always gives me goosebumps and how there are so many hidden messages... im sorry for the long text i hope yall could follow me a little. if you have questions you can always ask me!!

There is a storyline that runs through older BTS videos including this one. This MV is heavily influenced by the short story ‘ The ones who walk away from Omelas’ which is about a utopian society where everyone is happy and prosperous because there is a child in a room suffering for the sake of everyone else. JK (the one with the red shirt) is the child. Jin wants to keep JK in the room to keep everyone else happy so he closes the curtains on him. But at the beginning V helps JK up in the dance and then the explosion in Jin’s room occurs freeing JK. Slowly he makes his way through the rooms and as he does the fake realities crumble and the others have to face their original storylines. (Fire, water chocolate bars etc all mean something to each of them.). At the end Jin tries to hold on but JK frees his hand.

The meaning behind BTS' songs and music videos is simply immaculate They're literally revealing all of our darkest fears, secrets, faults and worries in the most beautiful way possible. We all hate or despise ourselves because of certain things and these boys' music is literally the definition of, "it's okay, you're okay". Just so comforting. And the amount of emotional intelligence that just goes into their videos. They tell their stories and even tell our stories in such unique and deeply creative ways. They're cultured and educated and truly show what happens when knowledge and art come together. POWERFUL That is what sets them apart from any other artist, at least for me🤭. They not only restore my faith in humanity but also make me feel connected to it✊😔

They have always said that they make the lyrics to be able to fit everyone so their songs can be what you want. This song is basically them admitting thar the love they have for one’s self is fake. They don’t love themselves & their sick of it. I can relate & I actually see this song like that but you can see it in a whole other way witch is completely fine. Art should be seen through each ones individual however it’s fit. BTS created a fictional storyline that runs through a lot of their MVs. You can watch them and enjoy without delving into the storyline, just know that most of their MVs are a LOT more than face value and a lot of symbolism might seem out of place without knowing the storyline, like the snicker bars. If you guys really like the choreo, you should check out the dance practices; you get to see the full choreo instead of the chopped up version in the MVs. i love your interpretation. it's a good take. music is open to interpretation. 💜 thus, their inspiration on this mv is heavily based on their bangtan universe. the song's lyrics is mainly about losing one's self to please someone else - mainly pretentious love (or fake). ☺️ but again, we can all take it how we want. 💜 i remember a pearl jam song entitled alive. when they wrote it, they meant it more as a rhetoric, full of hate. "oh i'm still alive." but, the listeners took it as an inspiring song, that despite all the troubles and heartaches, they survived... still alive. and through the years, even the meaning changed for pearl jam. ☺️

In a lot of their songs that seems to be a relationship about a guy and a girl, think of it as a relationship between BTS and their fans. In this case it was more about what is expected of them as they were a group, when they were told they were betraying hip hop and wore makeup like girls. Why should they change what they do for someone else? Why should they change their image because of what society says they should be? Be yourself, don't change yourself to please others. Please yourself, love yourself. Don't change yourself to make people love you, it's a fake persona. When you said, there was something like missing, yes! Until BTS I saw many of the American and western music videos as just a visual version of the song. BTS music videos have a story, hidden meanings, it's like watching a movie. Instead of the countless videos of guys rapping, in cars, pretty girls, been there, done that! It reminded me of when MJ would do his music videos which were like short movies! YES! Something you can watch AND listen to! As far as you mentioned the choreography was more complex, I see this group's choreo and formations as more complex than a lot of other male groups, and a LOT more strenuous, demanding, and complex than girl groups. Girl groups are basically all the same, sway and rotate the hips, not a lot of feet movement and constant changing formations. It's more sexually oriented and simple, like cheerleader and pom pom girls, like school girls. I can mute the sound, and you can interchange most girl groups with any other girl group. BTS you can mute the sound and you will know which song they are doing just by the choreo!

Nice Reaction! can you guys maybe take it down a little and see what the group is about and why they have many friends from all across the world and why they are so big and heavenly talked about ?: Please react to This is BTS by xceleste, From Nobodies to Legends 2019 & who is BTS 7 members of bangtan **NOTE** if you do decide to watch Who Is BTS The 7 Members, letting you know that it’s a very long video but is so worth the watch and that you don’t have to cut it up into parts / just watch it all the way through because us ARMYS don’t care how long of a video it is when it comes to those 7 kings 🤗💜

Keep in mind those floors were literally braking apart in the video, jk was really running for his life 😂😂😂 this video breath life into me, also it's not a break up song 🥺🥺😌

Glad you liked this! You are very open minded in your reactions. As some has said--it's not strictly a break-up song. It's deeper and makes the point that you can't love somebody else if you are hiding your true self behind a mask. But I totally understand your interpretation. But I really feel you when you said how BTS is filling a void in the music industry. Personally, I find BTS' music great on its own, but when combined with the MV and the performance, it just works in a way you don't see with other artists. There are only a handful of artists that I would wait up all night to see the premiere of a MV--Michael Jackson was the first. BTS fits in that category.

052821. FAKE LOVE is a complex mix and can have many interpretations. However, the lyrics are mostly referring to *CARL JUNG's Map Of The Soul* psychology theories, and the visuals are from the enigmatic, fascinating *BANGTAN UNIVERSE* fictional storyline. RM has said something about (and I think it's the main message) the meaning can relate to your "relationship with"/ understanding of yourself. -- I started giving a short comment but this is so complex. The rooms represent the guy's minds and past crises that trouble them. JK is the one who is free to move around, but his trial is observing and not knowing how to help his friends. It begins with JIN trying to protect, keep the BU *SMERALDO FLOWER* ( THE TRUTH UNTOLD or the truth I cannot tell, or the "persona"). He is the main character and tries to save his friends. The room of cell phones represents the call V made in the BU that didn't get answered ( the phone turns to sand), and there is the ambigram "Save me"/I'm fine in the back -- and his shirt and hand are stained with blood. The Snickers and the amusement park items in JH's room represent his mother abandoning him at a park when quite young, leaving him with only a Snickers bar. Like the BU, it goes On and ON and On and ON. The mv ends with JK finding and releasing the SMERALDO petals, and discovering his "shadow". One theory explanation is kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKrdYaWer7eZgJY BTS FAKE LOVE EXPLANATION | What do the items and rooms mean? by Xceleste. and one BU source is kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGXSaGOfd653hNU BTS Music Videos have a Fictional Universe: Guide to Characters in BTS Universe (BU) / “Save Me” by SUGA And Spice Some people like to entertain the alternate theory that JIN's BU friends are all parts of himself. Another well - presented theory is that JIN is dead: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKbHgaOAnrh9osk [SUBS]Theory Thursday: JIN IS DEAD - BTS Run + Prologue + I Need U Theory /Explanation by Justt Ally

YOU GET IT, They fill a void that nothing else out there is doing. Please, do as many reactions to their intros as you can (Who is BTS, SUGA and spice, anything by xCeleste, Asian theory, and there is a great new series call the Rise of Bangtan), get to know who they are as individuals. We will watch and cheer you on! Then plan on some live shows, and some dance practices too!

Great reaction! I'm definitely subbing, you guys are cool and genuine. I also first discovered Blackpink and then BTS btw. I'm pretty much still a new ARMY too (and Blink as well, though I've been a Blink a little bit longer than ARMY) I think it's now been around 3 months, and I know I still have much to learn, but the introductions here on KZbin have taught me a lot, so I definitely recommend watching those, especially the ones by XCeleste, she's amazing and her videos are so well put together. What also helped me to get a feel of what the members themselves are like, is just watching videos and interviews about them and there is so much of it. There's an introduction that's called 'Who is BTS The Seven Members of Bangtan' but that's a bit outdated and I also feel that the part about Jimin could have been better. But hey it might be a good starting point to get to know the individual members as well, because all 7 of them are just incredible. Another interesting bit to know about differences between Kpop and Western music is that their design of physical albums (or those I know of anyway) is also waaaay more creative. I have 5 albums of BTS now and not one of them is the same size, they also contain a photobook, a random photocard (and I managed to get lucky three times and get my Bias Jimin lol), a poster, in some I had stickers too, I believe. The latest one, BE had other photocards of all the members too. I haven't bought physical albums from Western artists in ages, but from what I see in the stores, everything still seems the exact same. So yeah, idk, I was really amazed by how much you get with albums from BTS and how awesome and different their designs are. And I've noticed that other Kpop artists have interesting designs as well. Like, I have one album of the singer IU (Modern Times) and though not as innovative as the ones of BTS, that album design already was way more beautiful than just some stupid CD case.
