Also regarding relationships, there are rumors that they were always allowed to have a relationship, it is also rumored that the werent allowed to be in a relationship in the first 2 or 3 years (I am not sure if it was 2 or 3) of the band, but since they are way past 3 years, they are allowed to now. And in their recent american interviews namjoon(RM) has said that they want to focus on their careers for now so they are not in a relationship now. But you have to watch those interviews for yourself because he kinda sounded like he was joking. He could also have tried to in a joking way prevent dating rumors since they can get really mean. As for what made them blow up, there was no one viral video or thing that brought them overnight success. It was hard work (literally blood sweat and tears) over 5 years, dedication to music and performance, that brought them to where they are today. Just writing this down while you're jamming to 134340 Few notes: In Cypher part 4, when RM says things like "Face not an idol" and "Because I'm breathing I'm sorry bae", it's because his hate comments were literally about how he didn't match Korean beauty standards, and how he should "stop breathing", they wanted him gone completely. As you can see, he basically told them to fuck off *(oh god you're gonna watch Blood Sweat and Tears, prepare to be wrecked)* His ending lines are (paraphrasing) "I like hate comments instead of no comments, I don't know who you are but you know my name". He's basically telling the haters "You may not like me, but you know who I am, that's how big I am". *(I was right, and of course you paused right before the crotch grab)* For Suga's part, the only thing is when he goes "Click Click to the bang, you and you", it didn't make much sense to me until I watched a live performance recording, where he instead said "Click Click to the bang, fuck you and you and fuck you, fuck you" (yessss, that's my mans, beat on them haters) For 134340, there's a little backstory, a comparison. 134340 is actually the name/number of Pluto, which helps explain some of the lyrics, like "I still revolve around you" "You forgot me" and the thing about it being -248 degrees. They're comparing a lover that left and forgot about them to how we abandoned Pluto. Okay, Blood Sweat and Tears. My explanation won't be 100% cause I can't function before 11 AM. Now, as you saw, there's a story behind that video (ALSO, ALMOST ALL OF THEIR VIDEOS HAVE SUBTITLES IF YOU WANT THE LYRICS AT THE SAME TIME). There's been a running story in their videos since 2015. They keep denying any knowledge of it, but also keep teasing things and it's killing us. This story is another reason they actually have an older demographic. Yes, ARMY does have a lot of 12-14 year olds, but there's also a lot of older people, because of the meaning and deepness/honesty behind their lyrics, and how complex the story is. I don't currently recall the official fan theory for BS&T, but my understanding is that it's good v evil, right v wrong. The lyrics are about not being able to resist the temptation of a toxic love, which when combined with the video, can be mixed into giving in to the pleasure of evil. If you want to watch the videos in order of the story, it would be: Run (7 min version) Prologue (find English sub version, theres an end credit scene. SIDENOTE: 3 months ago, they reuploaded the video, cutting out Jin's little scene, and replacing it with the music going really weird, sounding like it was rewinding. A theory is that his represents Jin deciding to go back in time to save everyone. Watch the eng sub version for the full thing, if you want, you can check the original for the weird music rewind) I Need U (5 min version, came out before Run, but for story, comes after it) (Here you can watch the Japanese versions if you want, little bit of story there) Epilogue: Young Forever Wings Short Films (in order 1-7, find the English subs. These were actually teasers for their solo songs in the Wings album, if you wanna check those out) Blood Sweat and Tears Spring Day (Blood Sweat and Tears Japanese Version can go here if you want) Love Yourself Highlight Reel (13 min version, has subtitles) Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself Wonder Singularity Fake Love Teaser 1 (the second teaser doesn't really have anything to do with the story) Fake Love (you can either watch both Fake Love and Fake Love extended version, or only the extended version) That's it for the story for now, but they're having a comeback end of August, so there's probably gonna be more stuff revealed If you just wanna watch the videos and have fun, that's perfectly alright as well, this is only if you're interested the lore behind everything. I won't write out what the most accepted theory is in case you wanna try to figure it out yourself IT WAS A GREAT VIDEO, IT TOOK ME AN HOUR AND A HALF TO WATCH CAUSE I KEPT PAUSING BECAUSE OF YOUR REACTIONS

I think the album that helped them blow up was wings like worldwide at least and in Korea it would’ve been hyyh series. Another reason they got so big is because the amount of content they give us like, mv, bts bombs, bts episodes, bts run, summer package etc. (Too much to list) You guys should react to the hyyh series before wings if you are prepared to fall down the theory black hole. But if you listen to there first stuff you can really see how they have explored lots of different genres and styles. God!! I died laughing at your reaction to Blood, Sweat and Tears. This was the song that jungshook us all! I wish you look at the lyrics too later on cuz their songs have very meaningful lyrics. There wasn't a single song that made them blow up. Many here said "I Need You" because it was a different genre from all their older hip hop music they debuted with and got them their 1st korean weekly music show wins. As for international fame it started from "Dope" I believe in 2015. But BTS has increased their album sales and size of their fandom gradually with every single comeback. I believe they weren't a hit from the beginning only cuz of lack of exposure coming from a small company. But then more songs they did with varying genres n meaningful lyrics the more fans they gathered.

FYI, they actually don't have any restrictions in their contracts (i.e. dating, collaborations with other artists, etc) so they're basically free to date whoever and work with anyone and go anywhere that they want. K-pop is known for slave contracts that essentially tells the idols what they can and can't do, but BTS is truly an anomaly in the industry since their company doesn't try to control their lives. BigHIt Ent supports them and gives them the opportunity to choose their own path. Just thought yall should know since the dating thing has been brought up during like the past 2 videos lol

what made them blow up? honestly its their music. the lyrics in the songs they trying to say and comfort people with. even if we don't speak the same language, there's translation lyrics videos or people who can translate it for us instead that can make us understand. the way they bond with each other is so rare in kpop groups and they just love the fandom so much to a point they check up on us almost everyday as if we're friends. theyre so in sync in dancing which never fail to amaze people. bts is like a motivation to some like me, probably all armys. they're just, so inspirational, they always tell us to love ourselves even in songs they always write for the fans like "2!3!" or "Magic Shop". if you understand the lyrics from the Love Yourself album series, most of the songs they wrote are for the fans, to comfort us. their visuals, looks are just bonus bc other groups have good handsome pretty visuals too. but their music, the songs they wrote and produced by themselves about youth, mental health issues, social issues etc which is rare for kpop groups to sing about. thats why theyre on top rn. they speak on behalf of us, and people who can relate to them

I wonder what would happen to these two when they fall into the theory black hole? Every BTS comeback, most of the fans go to twitter and theorize what's happening in their music videos. Small details like the painting Jin was looking, the statue with wings, the candle, the german quote in the wall, etc have different symbolisms. Blood, sweat and tears blew my mind after I read theories about it. And also... one special thing that makes them unique: most of their music videos are connected and has one story line. That story line started in 2015(HYYH) and it's still on-going. Their entire discography is like one ongoing novel. All songs are connected, very intricate, detailed, packed with stories within stories, but ultimately just delivering one very important message: you got to love yourself.

BTS described their music as a form of story telling and a means to get important messages across. There even is a fictional story-line they created that goes through their music videos and trailers, each acting as chapters of a book. Fans have a lot of fun coming up with theories and putting the pieces together. In "Fake Love", they wanted to share that love cannot last when you are not true to yourself. The love between you and yourself must be real, hence you should love yourself (which is the title of the album). Their whole discography is self written so produced while Suga is an award winning producer besides being a rapper. They have the biggest creative freedom and are also involved in concept making&choreographing. Their lyrics tackle social/political issues, mental health, disorientation, youth poverty, classism, individualism etc. The list is very long, but most importantly they manage to make people feel connected to their music with their authenticity and artistry.
