I remember a video were J Hope was told to draw a horse but then he didn't know how and Jungkook told him "go and look in the mirror then draw" but J Hope wasn't happy with it so he told Jungkook to not make him curse to him because their are Infront of the camera. Some Asian families have their "family books", in which each generation is given a character. It is for people within the extended family to differentiate which generation they are from, in relation to others. In Yoongi's case, his generation must have been given the character "gi". Kyunghoon can tell from the character that Yoongi is one generation older than him. (In larger families, you will sometimes see uncle/aunts of the same age as their nephews or nieces) It's not very common in modern Asian societies and I feel that people don't pay attention to this naming culture anymore, and parents don't name kids with characters dictated by the family book.
