This was the song that made me ARMY in 2015, so it's very special to me. Thank you for giving it your time and effort going thru the lyrics, and I'm sure you'll do much more in Patreon too. "I Need U" was the first song that BTS ever won an award for in a music show. Before this, they were one of those rookie groups who had been around for some time, and yet STILL hadn't had an award-winning song. In Kpop, if you don't get a music show award for some time after you debut, it probably means your group isn't going to make it big. And since BTS was from a small company that was in financial trouble, them making it big was probably a matter of life or death. So when they finally won an award for "I Need U", they were in tears. I jokingly say that I became ARMY because when BTS said "I Need U", I replied here I am. But really, this song was so addictive. I liked it so much, I listened to it everyday, several times a day. I also love this song, because it was the start of the Bangtan Universe or BU storyline. Something that continues to fascinate me about BTS. My first time watching the music video, the realness and authenticity of it was what shook me. Before this, it felt to me like BTS was trying too hard and it felt rather fake. Like they were trying to be who they were not. But with "I Need U", I saw 7 real-life boys who were relatable, like they could've been my next door neighbour, or my schoolmate, or a member of my family. That was what connected with me. I had actually heard about BTS since "Boy In Luv" and I actually quite liked "Danger", but I didn't become a full-on ARMY till "I Need U" came out. I've never looked back ever since then.

Great reaction! Good call on how the choreo brings out an unexpected sensuality. It's striking against the desperation of the lyrics. I like the decision to separate the analysis of the song from the MV. The song stands on its own, apart from the BU. Then the MV itself does not play out the lyrics but rather its own story while the song serves as a soundtrack, reinforcing the mood but not actually driving the narrative. In fact, the choreo doesn't even appear in the MV; it's strictly for stage performance. We get 3 experiences from one song -- listening, watching the dance, and watching the MV -- and all are different.

I was thinking exactly that. When they first started as BTS reactors I really loved them. But now as it goes they post fewer content here and more on patreon. That just making me annoyed. I feel like I've been taken advantage on just because of my love for BTS. I love BTS and the work and effort they are putting in everything. I support BTS reactors because I truly believe that BTS will change and help them in their lives as they did with mine. But most reactors see it just as an opportunity to gain views likes and money. I'll just stick to Tribe Loui. He is genuine funny and he loves what he is doing. He even posts everything for free. 💜💜💜

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Yes, love I Need U. It's a fav. THE MV IS PART OF THEIR HIDDEN BU STORYLINE IN SOME OF THEIR SONGS. So it's a lot. But they won their 1st award after this song. This story is deep complex and heartbreaking. This MV depicts suicide, overdose, and the hardships of life. It shows that when they are together they are happy and have no worries. But each one is hiding baggage and are suffering alone. This song resonated with fans and this story is why BTS are the best. It came out in 2015. Suga was the one on the bed and burned the room. V killed his dad who was hurting his sis. So we got physical abuse. JK did not fight back because he wanted the pain. They were beating up JK because he bumped into them. He is in pain because he lost his friend. Suga killed himself in the fire. Jimin is depressed and tried to kill himself by drowning in the tub. Hobi overdosed. RM is upset because he lost his friends and is alone. Jin is really important in the story and not spoiling... =0p So BTS never sings about girls. Not really. In this case girl means friend. Oh yes JK did get hit by a car. Love the song its a banger. But oh boy is the MV complex and deep. This song got them more notice in US and Korea. This was huge! They really let the cat out of the bag with this story. Hmmm I would understand if you would leave all the talk about MV and BU realated things for Patron, but simply you watching and reacting at moment to MV hmm is soo weird that it isn't here too... so people said that you may put it later with BU video's or something but if you did it bc of ROB episode then it is even more weird that on yt people don't see how you reacted to MV when this ROB is about this mv in big part and how it was recived... I have sometimes very mixed feelings bc there is favorism of people that can pay, even tho I always liked how you took song and looked deep and rake it to parts, but from some time so little content is on YT or really cut, and it is ok that most lives go there, but sometimes it feels really cut, and half of video's is reading comments, and it is nice if video wouldn't be 10 minutes and 5 is comments, and some reaction don't even have disscusion about song, even "i like it". And ok if it is some parteon exlusive that you put here but at least you can leave some words that you liked something, why or not, without dive in... i don't know hmm bc I can understand it takes a lot of time and there is no money from yt for this time, so yeah everyone wants a little something, but still the feeling isn't good, lately few reactions were more sad then exciting. The mv is on patreon?🤨 Bts work so hard ro give as much free content as they can to us. Most of the time they spoil paid and/or unreleased content to people who dont have memberships or cant afford. Same goes for army. People stream concerts for free and give out free merch cause we know how expensive hybe can be. And BTS have said it themseleves that they dont mind and ask bighit to not take down the links. For a mv rection to be behind a paywall is extremely greedy. At this point youre just taking advantage of us. You putting live reactions there was fine, didnt bother me that much. Then you put run (which is also free) there....ok didnt bother me either since i haven't finished watching the episodes myself. But mvs??? Your reactions are amazing but im done with this channel. Enjoy your journey but while doing that take a page out of bangtan's book and respect your subscribers. Ps. Im pretty sure bts themselves wouldnt condone this either.
