BTS Jin (진) x Mattel Dolls Repaint /방탄소년단 마텔 인형 리페인팅 Fashion Doll

I have an ARMY daughter and I took an interest in BTS to be able to chat to her about something she is very passionate about. So I know a LOT about the boys and also these dolls in particular, not least that ARMY LOATHE the way they look (she's not even bothering with them and is, instead, waiting for the Pop Vinyl versions to come out). So I honestly don't know why Mattel couldn't have employed people like you to do the design, even of the originals that the production line would've been made from. Surely, especially knowing how passionate ARMY are about BTS, getting them right would be a GOOD thing? I know you took a lot of attempts (though I thought each one was really good) and I really appreciate you giving us tips on how to use the products, but your finished article was 100 times better than original and, like the Namjoon and Hobi you've also done, really LOOKED like Jin. On behalf of my ARMY daughter I would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU; THANK YOU for doing what Mattel should've done....making BTS LOOK like themselves. As Tae would say "we purple you." (*^▽^*)

@@DollBride - aww you and Bassant are lovely, but honestly my daughter hangs the stars for me and my husband the moon. Youngsters have it tough these days and I really feel for them. The pressures they're under are nothing like my generation suffered at their age. Besides, kids don't ask to be born, we parents choose to have them - especially in my own case where, at 18, I was told I'd never have children. Then out of the blue at 32 I find I'm expecting! My daughter is wonderful and I cannot follow her other hobbies (vocaloids and gaming - the former hurts my ears and the latter I just seem to die a lot) and so I figured I'd give BTS a go. I was never disappointed - their music is great, they're sweet boys and they love their fans and each other. To be fair I don't understand other parents who don't seem to like them. Don't they get what wonderful role models BTS as a whole are? Hardworking, humble, inclusive of everyone - especially those with mental health and physical health issues.....yup, I am VERY proud to say I am mum to a passionate ARMY daughter, and I'm always happy to meet her fellow ARMYs. TroubleMcTrouble i adore your support to your daughter loving BTS🥰 Big Hit should’ve not agreed for Mattel to release those dolls. They don’t look like any of the boys. And a lot of youtubers are doing way better than them. Ughhh they know Armys are willing to pay for any merch that’s BTS related but puhlease give us something worth our money. I have all of the dolls and decided to buy them when Mattel had a display at the Speak Yourself concert at the Rose Bowl. I agree that the initial prototypes weren't good, especially the hair, but Mattel took the criticism and made the changes fans requested. The face sculpting is beautiful and I am amazed when I look at each of my seven dolls how much they look like their name-sakes. The faces are just printed on by a machine in a factory, so of course they won't be as gorgeous as something done individually by Doll Bride. Also, for that quality, it would cost much more than $20 per doll. Remember these are just toys and not art pieces. I'm so happy with the effort Mattel took to sculpt a face for each member so they are unique and similar in look to the real person and didn't just pull out the "Ken" mold and make them the same with different costumes. They could have done that, but they didn't. I hope that nobody reading your comment here feels ashamed for purchasing the dolls, because they shouldn't. Many, many Armies are really very happy with their Mattel BTS dolls. I also have the Funko Pops dolls. They are adorable. They all have the iconic Pops look with different hair colors and costuming. You can get all of them as a set right now at Barnes & Noble for about $70. I love mine and I'm sure your daughter will love hers too!I agree with others; you're a good mom and it's fun to have this great shared interest with your daughter! That's how I got into BTS as well. 💜

I think what happens is that (personally as an artist) it gets really tiring to go over and over again 😅 and a lot of times failure we were taught in life is not an option so many times in life we grow complexities and anxiousness about this. But yes!! Her work and ability to get over that hill and keep going is entirely admirable!! 💖 It takes a lot of willpower, love for art, and guts to do it

I'm glad you made so much effort with the eyes even if you had to redo them a few times. That was the main problem with the original doll since he looked Caucasian. Now I can see Jin in this repaint ❤. Great job!

You did justice to Mr. Worldwide Handsome!! The doll looks so much better. The eyes, the lips, the eyebrows...now that's Jin! Besides the helpful tips you are willing to share at each step, I appreciate your honesty in letting us know the process took a week and was not easy. Despite the numerous repaints, you did not give up or become complacent. I admire your perseverance! I think Jin's doll was the most challenging to repaint because it is the one which least resembled the actual member. But you cleverly added some light brown shadow under his eyes to accentuate his eye ball. This made a big difference. Great job! I can't wait to see you repaint Yoongi's doll.

The biggest mistake Mattel made was making Jin’s eyes look very generic. Jin has a certain shape especially his under eyes. You did an excellent job of capturing that! 💜

This is amazing, when you take a minute to look at the side by side the difference becomes so obvious. I didn’t think the faces they came with were that bad but you brought them to life. The eyes are so unique to each member and the fact that you can make such tiny eyes look so much like the real thing shocks me. I can’t wait to see the rest of them :)

hey girl, every time I watch one of these bts repainted Im so impressed over and over again how talented and accurate an eye for detail you have.
