i became curious about bts when paulo coelho mentioned bts. curious enough to read up on their story and was impressed by their determination to follow their dreams. although i'm now in my mid-50s, and not much of a kpop fan, i found myself discovering their music -- and their youthful energy, enthusiasm, authenticity and good natures have since captured my heart! congratulations on their 10th anniversary! may they keep on making and sharing their music for many more years to come.

The people you should have interviewed who REALLY KNOW BTS from the start are Dr Jiyoung Lee and Dr Youngdae Kim. Not because they have PhDs but because they both wrote two solid books on BTS from the point of view not only native to BTS, South Korea, or not only from the perspective of someone who was there at the beginning but also from a philosophical, theatrical, musical perspectives they are deeply sophisticated that might actually REALLY answer a lot of your questions. I know you are trying to aim for the English speaking audience. But we won’t be here if we are easily discouraged by those speaking not in English. We are fans of BTS. ARMY. Many of us don’t speak Korean. BTS speaks almost exclusively Korean. As for the other English speaking audience, subtitles are not that hard to do with an organisation as big as yours. Most of them are able to read.

they really very down to earth and they are always real , they provide ppl comfort and make ppl happy ....that's why they hv a loyal fan base ..they are breaking records with a fan song in their hiatus ... their recent song " take two " which was for fans for their 10th anniversary is the most streamed kpop song on spotify , which is a great deal considering the fact that they are on hiatus as a group and no promotions ...bts have a big influence ...even the solo albums and projects are breaking records , BTS are impactful as a group as well as solo artists

I was excited seeing this and then I saw the 2 people you chose to speak on BTS are these 2? I am incredibly disappointed...One tried to credit himself for BTS's success and the other one said she was tired of seeing BTS. I honestly hope you didn't pay these 2 people. Do you know what BTS's biggest reason for success is? It is BTS and ARMY. ARMY translators, ARMY in Korea embracing International ARMY. BTS are the amazing people they are and there will never be another group like BTS because BTS has ARMY and ARMY has BTS.

I don’t think this comment is representative of what the two panelists were saying. Their commentary highlighted key factors of BTS’ success, particularly relatable messaging in their music, the quality of their performances, and most of all their commitment to ARMY. The male panelist was making a point that their music is universal that even his dad was able to understand and relate.

Really dissapointed with the choosing of those 2, Tamar and Benjamin. Tamar falsely claimed NADC called for amemdement for BTS expemtions because of fans demand, and blamed ARMY and the company for the meetings when they were not involved. And the other one said he's the resson BTS succeed in the US. Both, the worst choice to speak about them.

I was initially excited to watch this and then saw the two “journalists” you chose to interview. I would strongly suggest you find other music journalists to interview for BTS related stories. Tamar Herman is on record for making negative comments about BTS, while writing an unauthorized book about BTS for her financial gain. In her interview with DKDKTV, she made multiple comments about BTS. Here are a few. “Alot of people are frustrated that there havent been any popular bgs since BTS, its all been BTS". Really? She also said this about BTS posting on Weverse, "I kinda got creeped out by it because I was just like, I dont neccesarily believe its them (BTS) doing it (posting/replying to fans), whereas twitter I usually think its them.” She also stated “By having all these apps, the whole goal is to kinda fill the minds/existance of fans who are interested in BTS with so much BTS that they can never look anywhere else.." Jeff Benjamin has incorrectly credited himself for BTS success in the US & appeared on a FUSE podcast where the hosts were making unprofessional comments about Jimin’s vocals. He laughed along with them as this was happening and later released a lackluster apology. He is also known for having ties to certain companies (posts about gifts he’s received) & allows this to influence his writing. Moreover he stayed silent when BTS was experiencing racism from US music industry radio DJ’s, only to tweet about what he knew was going on in attempt to gain clout as “having insider knowledge”. Hopefully you’ll do more research on guests you invite to speak about BTS.

BTS resonate with different audiences because of the stories they tell in their songs. They have the relatability and vulnerability that connects to anyone, not to mention they are amazing artists and performers. Their music transcends boundaries, and they will continue to influence people of different ages, genders and races. I personally was not attracted to kpop but BTS opened that door for me. Just a casual kpop listener, but a hardcore BTS fan.

Yes in a global perspective of global pop music it is a genre. Look up what genre means it’s just another word for category or classification. That doesn’t mean it isn’t also an industry. Pop music became an industry in the 50s in many countries around the world 😊

K-Pop is different to the General Pop Industry or “Genre” of the Western World it includes all K culture and makes a profit of $3.4 billion+ a year which includes TV, Film, Reality Programs, Advertising, Beauty Products, Korean Cuisine & Cooking Programs. A “K-Pop Idol” is not just an artist who performs & sing on a stage or concert like in the West, they act, sing, dance, perform, MC, Advertise products, Brand Ambassadors, attends Functions, do Humanitarian & Diplomatic Officials duties etc. They also perform all genres of music such as Rap, Pop, Latin Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, EDM, Trot, House etc so they are not boxed into a Genre they are a part of an Industry of artists who also perform multiple genres.

RM and Suga got bullied by the rapper during radio interview. Jimin got bullied in the school and Taehyung was his defender ( they were in the same school) . Jin saved Suga from being a suicidal person. Because of his depression 😢. Jhope wants his father to be proud of him. JK went because be want to help his family at his young age. That’s why BTS raised him specially Jin. I really love their stories. Adding to these stories. Their speech in the UN are being used in the collage graduates 🎓. And Suga’s ARMYs proposals is being added to the bar exam in the Philippines ( Yoongi Marry Me). They are such a very important and influential group. I am an army from Canada and I was expecting something different and was kinda disappointed to watch an 20 odd minutes of news about BTS that is just common knowledge when there are supposedly good highlights and social media has already covered like the good stuff to begin with and it just needs a little bit of news coverage. Somebody could have said some things that ARMY has done which in my opinion is really a big deal in celebration of BTS' 10th anniversary. Like SA Army's adopting whales for every member of the group, clean up drives (Im not sure if its in Indonesia, but this info. could easily be researched on) and so on and so forth...anyway, the world I mean we are a billion fans so I guess you could say we are watching and yea, thank you BTS for making the world less chaotic and for giving a shimmer of hope and spreading love. borahae~

happy 10th anniversary to BTS! kind of weird to see it celebrated with the two journalists who don't really like BTS and have often denigrated them over the past 10 years and laugh derisively about them with their buddies on podcasts and that sort of thing. it's just really an odd choice to make when there are other kind and knowledgable journalists like Liam McEwan, music critic Kim Youngdae, and the renown professor Dr Jiyoung Lee, the author of BTS, Art Revolution. Just a really strange way to celebrate BTS by choosing unprofessional journalists like the two you chose. I wonder why you did.

I think if you are not a BTS fan this episode probably sounds ridiculous. BTS is a feeling or emotion as much as it is a kpop group. Short of Michael Jackson and his story, I have never cared about a pop singer as a person or when I learned of them as an individual, I didn't like them. Whitney Houston would be an example of a great talent that I didn't like personally. BTS as a group are bigger than their music. Because they have so much social media shows, vlogs and live streaming sessions, you get a sense of who they are as people, and they are extremely likable entertaining people. They are people I like seeing as much as listening to.

I agree that we need to hear more K-ARMYs stories about there journey with BTS since debut, but disagree with your statement below as that’s not true, their were International ARMYs who were part of the fandom of BTS at the time of Creation of BTS in 2010/2011 & at Debut In 2013 and even before BTS debuted in America with their performance of DNA in 2017 at BBMA’s, I have been an ARMY since early 2015 and I am from Australia, we had The Red Bullet Tour here and the arena was packed every day as I am sure it was worldwide with this tour. We appreciate the K-ARMYs for supporting our Tannies in person at events as we were unable to travel there as well as spreading their content and translating videos & vlogs etc but it was a group effort.
