ET's Cassie DiLaura caught up with BTS on the red carpet ahead of the 2021 American Music Awards at LA's Microsoft Theater, where they shared their excitement about performing for their fans, the Army, in-person again. The 49th Annual American Music Awards aired Sunday, Nov. 21, on ABC.

They're popular in their own right. They deserve undivided focus and attention. It's so lame. Western culture is self-centred.

Eh it's a red carpet interview not a proper one. These are types of interviews that are used for fluff. I don't care what designer people are wearing but it is usually asked also questions like how do you feel tonight, are you excited to preform, what does this night/award mean to you. Interviewers only get a few minutes with each artist so sticking to easy yes no questions is better than one with merit where they can't answer it properly due to time restraints and the atmosphere, they're outside and fans are screaming at them, they are obviously going to get distracted where as in a proper interview they are in a studio. It's fluff and used mostly to waste time up until the event. The question is somewhat annoying but expected since two artists posted a pic together, people will speculate if they are or will work together.

Am I the only one just not impressed with the questions? Can you ask something about BTS not BTS and other celebs? I want to know about how they feel about the nomination, how they're preparing for the concerts, how they're handling the start of the post pandemic life, etc. BTS is the biggest boy band in the world. I wish more interviewers would encourage them to speak Korean in American interviews so the other members can talk comfortably. Someone can translate their interviews afterwards, their fans like them as a Korean band, it doesn't bother them that their main language is Korean.

They don't give them enough time to translate the question and answer it and for RM to translate the answer back. The interviewers don't seem used to interviewing non-English speaking people. There's a certain way that you have to go about doing it and you have to give people a lot more time. But most of these interviews are quick and shallow and very fake and they don't have time for a much. That's obviously RM answering most questions. I don't like it either but that's just how it's going to be

@@HadassaMoon144 that's why it's important to have interpreters present! Of course it'll take a little more time but professionals can translate things very quickly and accurately, more so than RM who's not trained of course. It'd be more comfortable for everyone, I think :)
