They made me cry after the performance was over because thinking about all they've accomplished as a SOUTH KOREAN BOY GROUP... all the milestones they've reached and NOW, being the FIRST ASIAN ACT to win BEST POP at the VMAs and the FIRST KOREAN ARTISTS to perform on this award show... proud is an understatement. I grew up watching the VMAs alongside my sisters, so seeing them perform here feels so nostalgic and brings me back full circle to when I used to fawn over the Backstreet Boys. BTS is taking home FOUR MOON-MEN TROPHIES... that is insane!!! I am in awe, in tears, and my heart is bursting with joy, excitement, & happiness for them now & forever. The thing that gave me chills the most is that the background of the stage went from New York to Seoul - as if BTS is not only going abroad and getting recognized by public in America, but they are also inviting them to Korea. They are literally bringing people all around the globe to recognize and appreciate different artists from different cultural backgrounds. I'm soooo proud of them and so proud to be Korean. p.s. After their performance, I loved how the song that came on while they were transitioning from the performance to the next award was Blackpink’s “How You Like That”. Not sure if anyone else noticed that. To clarify, it was like saying after that phenom performance, “how do you like that vmas?
