Fun Facts: 1. Ed Sheeran co-wrote the track in collaboration with Steve Mac, Johnny Mcdaid, and Jenna Andrews. 2. They use sign language as a part of their dance choreography in ‘Permission to Dance, it's means 'fun,’ ‘dance,’ and ‘peace.’ 3. They leaves messages throughout the ‘Permission to Dance’ MV in graffiti, text in the backdrop, and even visuals promoting unity and the end to Asian hate crimes. 4. They release ‘Permission to Dance‘ on July 9, which is the birthday of ARMY. Best present ever! Sorry i can't find dancing emoji i watched this on my son's tab 😁

Thanks for reacting to PTD! They highlighted all people that are mostly affected by this pandemic the frontliners, teachers, retail workers, children, seniors & PWD. they also used an international signs such as "fun", "dance" and "peace" in their dance moves!! The live performance for this song has no heavy autotune and much more adlibs, it's beautiful 💜 some people weren't happy about the song being too cheerful and not deep enough, but life is hard as it is and if Bangtan want to perform music to cheer us and themselves, so be it! I love this catchy lil tune😁

@@RS-oy6bz right? It is literally for us.......😣😳🙄. Have no clue what they wanted? A philosophical type MV? I have no clue I am confused!! It is like this: BTS: Happy Birthday Army Some Armys: I hate this song and it was my lease favorite. It is sad! I wonder how they felt about We are bulletproof: the eternal? Probably the same. SMH!! This was emotional and had a very deep meaning to it.

For other ARMY complaining about the song being westernized listen: This is only their 3rd full english? Whatcha on about?? We have 100+ in korean. Last year the BE album songs was in korean.. come on... Us ARMY are always proud that BTS is not just 1 genre.. we always say they are THE GENRE so they are constantly branching out and trying different sounds thats why we love them for not sticking to one sound. They're bringing more and more non fans to our BTS universe and they will be discovering the great complex hard hitting past songs, is'nt that a good thing? Im sure they will be going back to singing korean songs. This is a birthday gift to ARMY, its in english so all the different races of ARMY can sing fully to it.. plus incorporating ASL sign language. Come on ARMY fam its okay not to like it.. but lets not knock out BTS like that. Borahae 💜

Go back to the teaser and pay close attention to “The Daily” newspaper. The MV is supposed to represent the year 2022, and the purple balloons symbolize the end of Covid. It says so on the top right corner. This is why you see purple balloons throughout the MV.

The rappers RM, Suga and Jhope were literally singing .... The disco scene with Jungkook is a laundry room ,,,, simple things in life can make one happy. BTS shines as they sing. A connect with butter that talk is cheap... It;s better to walk the walk as action speaks louder than words. How you act genuinely like BTS is important than the talk that is empty. Living as a good example of good vibes. Thanks for wathching...I hope you watch it again and see the beauty of it for your life. Have a great week ahead.

One of the other reactors said it was a great graduation song. Which for me I totally agree. This song is just great cause it’s a celebration. Which is hard to feel celebratory after such a hard year but BTS gave us that and gave us so many points during this last year to celebrate. So let’s celebrate everyone - children, adults, office workers, waitresses, the deaf community, etc. Borahae 💜💜

By the way the choreography is sign language...because there are many disabled BTS fans... and they care for the welfare of the weak. They are actually dinating personally like RM donating hearing aid to deaf children... and a lotmore JHope donated a 100million to children of Kenya during childrens day.... he never announced it...but ARMY finds out... Jimin donates to the graduating class of his school. etc. That is BTS. The best singers, dancers and heart that connects with all ages.

The title, “Permission to Dance” is an anagram. If you play with the letters, you’ll get Stories On Pandemic”. Thats why there are scenes about covid 19. They used sign language because they released it on July which is Disability Pride Month. BTS official twitter account added the hearing aid emoji on their bio and the MV had a“disABILITY” sign poster.

It really does feel like a celebration AND I LOVE it!! I specially love the last minute of behind the scenes when they were performing the sign language choreo with their crew, it was super fun, very raw and it made me feel like I'm there celebrating with them. 😭 They could've released a shorter track and easily broke the record for the most number of views in the first 24 hours but they didn't. They don't need to prove anything to anyone anymore. Really this is them pursuing their passion projects and spreading positivity and promoting inclusivity to their audience. 💜

i'm so loving this song/vid... it's quintessential BTS bringing the healing vibes on, just when we need them most! prob one of my favorite lines is, "when we fall we know how to land" :) BTS members can often be seen using sign language for their deaf fans (they actually used the ASL word for "butter" when promoting that song). in PTD, they've incorporated 3 sign language words (universal and ASL/American Sign Language) into their choreo: 1) "peace" - (universal) "V" sign we're all familiar with; 2) "have fun" - (universal) both hands in front of the chest in up/down motion (like scrubbing) repeated throughout; 3) "dance" - (ASL) one palm up, with the other hand on top in an upside-down peace sign 'dancing' back-in-forth i have family who are deaf and love to dance. what it takes is a lot of visuals (which, obviously, BTS has plenty of visual vibrancy to offer) and sometimes a beat that can be seen or felt (like when playing music loudly in a room w/ the bass turned up)...to see a world class band offering all that, while also thoughtfully performing with sign language as part of their choreo, just isn't done by anyone else. BTS is different, for real.

I don't know why this song is getting so much dislike (and from ARMY at that). I have a feeling the general public will enjoy it more than ARMY based on the comments I've read on Twitter and Reddit. Yeah, it's not my favorite (only bc I know their capabilities), but it's still good, uplifting. It reminds me of Jackson 5 'I want You Back', the Welcome Back Kotter theme song, and Whitney Houston 'I wanna Dance with Somebody'. Guess what....ALL good happy feel-good songs that passed the test of time. Not everything has to be deep an meaningful and TBH a lot of their really deep stuff was thought up by their company's team and a few introspective members, but many of the members have frequently expressed their personal tastes in music are not always so introspective. They want to make music that is fun for THEM. They no longer have the need to "make it". Sure they have goals they are still aiming for, but I get the feeling that they are just enjoying the ride, and they deserve it so hard. RM and Suga have more and more recently expressed wanting to explore pop styles and singing, and they did such a great job. I am so proud of them. The only complaint I have was the vocal processing was not only unnecessary, but was actually distracting. I can't wait for the remixes though. Also, Jimin's cute little "yah!" when he threw the jacket in the outtake, was probably my favorite part of the video after J Hope and Suga's lil tandem kickstep. Editing to add, I don't know why I don't praise Jin and Jungkook more (I guess I always expect nothing but greatness from them), but they SHINED in particular to me in this song. And Jin was looking quite ummm foine. He looked so happy, and I can only imagine that had to do with the simple choreo LOL! I keep editing haha. But the more I watch the video, the more I notice. I love the 'Butter' easter eggs. Like the pancakes, and Jin hinting to his move of throwing the glasses to V in 'Butter', but then was like "sike!". I'm sure there are still hidden meanings and messages to feed those that need that.

You made some great points here!! Honestly it surprises me a lot when people say they miss the ‘old BTS’ like hyyh, wings etc because of the darkness and the depth of the storyline and stuff. And although every era is special, and those two eras especially are undeniably iconic, none of the members themselves have ever talked about being that heavily involved in the storyline themselves. They’ve always spoken about the songs and the albums from a personal standpoint never from the perspective of their ‘characters’ or the ‘concept’. It’s obvious, at least to me and in my opinion, that the whole crazy concept and storyline thing that these people ‘miss’ was more of a thing put together and strung along by the company (similar to the ott hiphop image in the beginning, which was obviously just built on and exaggerated from the vision that bang pd had and Joon & Yoongis experience in the genre) rather than the members themselves. Jimin spoke about hyyh era in the Festa talk recently and even then he spoke about it from a very personal perspective, no mention of the story or anything like that. I really think a lot of people get a bit caught up in the idea of ‘concepts’ when it comes to BTS. Maybe it’s a kpop thing idk. But for me it just seems like BTS themselves, taking what the company decides out of it, just make and do what they feel at the time. And like you say a few of them don’t always express interest in super deep meaningful stuff. And that’s absolutely fine. Them being authentic about what they want to do, and getting out there and doing it is what makes it meaningful and admirable, regardless of the lyrics or style. And that’s not to say those same members NEVER want to make or listen to that ‘deep’ music, because as we’ve seen they absolutely do. It’s just not a crime if sometimes they don’t want to do that. I’d take a fun and upbeat, simple song all day if they look genuinely happy performing it and talking about it, rather than a dark, moody song that they had to force out when they didn’t feel like it because some entitled people demanded it.

@@Clementinelands EXACTLY. I honestly feel it's quite snobbish to call this type of music "low-brow", when that's the same stereotype many kpop fans (or fans of only specific k pop bands), have had to fight against...that pop music, happy, bright, heavily edited music, is less-than. I have seen so many instances of comments from pretty much every single one of the members that they themselves didn't know wtf was going on in those damn storylines LOL. And you know, it was relatable. I remember V even saying something from the behind scenes of the official 'ON' video, like (paraphrasing) "I am always impressed with your imaginations and theories, and am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this one". You brought up something I didn't consider either. It's obviously that this style they've been exploring is yet another 'era'. So people that are crying about them "changing"...well yeah, that's kind of what they do. And then it will be something else. Didn't they even mention bf Dynamite that they felt bogged down, and felt like their fans were being bogged down by the ultra-deep stuff, and they wanted to lighten it up. It was intentional for them. And getting to work with other producers and writers is honestly probably giving them a much-needed break (that, or allowing them to work on their own projects....like probably getting ready for a worldwide tour). Not to mention that they haven't had a chance to tour for their last two albums, and probably don't want to add songs they worked hard to, to the roster of what will probably already be medley-type performances, just to fit the stuff they DID compose and write and produce themselves. And you know what, for those saying they are worried about them losing status and fans. Well, Dynamite and Butter have been #1 and all over the radio...something not previously done. And lest we forget Dynamite was NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY. So, tell me again, what they are doing wrong? People may not like their methods, but they're just playing the game and doing what they need to do for themselves, their career, and future plans and wants. Sorry, this was way too long lol. And listen, I don't have a problem with people not liking the song (I have a really weird kink for ARMY who are outspoken against things they don't like when it comes to BTS, bc I think healthy criticism and difference of opinion is wonderful. It shows that we aren't just one big single brain cell). But I draw the line and accusing the guys of being this now, or that, or old vs new BTS. And basically putting them in a box and holding them to projects they've done in the past (especially when they may not have had as much input as we thought they did). The only constant with them, is change. Not everyone likes every era, but we all get a shot at liking an era. And I'm sure each of the members have their favorites too. Also, people were quite critical of BE, I remember, which was the album they put their foot in the most. So maybe umm....those people's taste don't align with the member's taste in music. We've seen this all of the time, where the more accomplished an artist gets, the more free they feel to explore the things THEY want to do. And sometimes we discover it diverges from our taste, but as you mentioned, that still means it can be authentic if it's something that they have more choice in (even if they didn't come up with it themselves...choosing to support a project is still a personal choice).

@@jademelon7272 Yes to all of it, especially the last part. I don‘t understand how people can say “This is not the real BTS“. How do they know better, who the real BTS is, than BTS themselves? Many people, fans and non-fans, were so entitled and full of themselves this comeback. It baffles me. On top of that, when I see phrases like “old BTS was better“, I just roll my eyes. There is no clear line with old and new BTS according to their sound. They have changed and evolved many times over the years and they do concepts: they had a more hip hop based phase, than a little bit rock-ish in the danger era, than r’n’b-ish and then more edm, during MOT7 they incorporated kind of many genres, now retro and pure pop, so who knows what comes next. This song was definitely not my cup of tea and I have some criticism on the vocal engineering, but I can still appreciate it as a gift for ARMY and see the nice message behind it and than move on.

And it’s so cool they added sign language in the coreo. It looks like a tiktok dance but it actually means “fun”, “dance” and “peace”

Okay..I don't really leave messages but I wanted to thank you for the great reaction. I was really hoping to see the two of you together react to PTD but this was great too. This song is such an amazing gift from the Tannies. You were right, this is exactly what I needed during this time. It really makes my heart smile. 🕺💜

Some of the movements in the choreography come from International Sign Language: Dance, Joyful (Happy) & Peace. This MV show different ages from kids to adults with multi-cultures/nationalities, doesn't matter if you are a server, an office staff, a mail carrier, a teacher, a janitor, or etc... "Because we don't need no permission to dance". "Life Goes On". Enjoy life after Covid sort of vibe. We survived & the Purple balloon signal Hope for the future. To the ARMY ~ Watch & Listen to BTS "Permission to Dance" :) "Da na na na na na..."

🕺 I wish they had filmed this in Arizona, because that I were I live..haha another reactor liked it up when watching the teaser video and therr are desert areas in Korea. BTS is still not traveling international yet. But I am loving this song and the message in it. Also, for anyone that doesn't know BTS just put out a #permissiontodance Challenge doing the choreo at the end of the video with the sign language. 💜

Kudos for surviving that extreme mental fortitude. LOL. You're right, this is the perfect summer jam and BTS is here to bring us just what we needed, at a time we need it the most. I honestly don't get why some people are not liking the ultra-happy vibe that this song brings, I mean, isn't it something we all need right now? Not every BTS song has to have super deep meaning for it to be beautiful and inspiring. PTD is directly telling people to just hang in there until the pandemic is completely over. And until then, stay hopeful, stay golden, stay happy. This brings me to my next point - you are so right for saying we don't need permission to be happy. 😊 As usual, this is another amazing reaction video, which I enjoyed so much because we can all clearly see how much you've enjoyed it too! So proud to hear you say "I'm an ARMY!" Hahahaha! 🕺

I'm so glad you recognized the importance of the message of this song. I've seen reactors who just think this is a feel-good song without any actual message. I don't get that, not with the diversity shown, including someone with a cane, kids, and older folks, as well as the sign language. This is not "Dynamite". I love that song but the guys specifically stated that it wasn't meant to have any kind of meaning. Just a song to cheer people up. "Permission To Dance" is another song, entirely.

Fyi something you may not know about posting uploads during a comeback: Some armys are SUPER serious about streaming goals and i have seen other ytbers complain about getting backlash for posting before 24hrs are up. Many reactors will record their reaction but not post it until after to avoid this. Obviously i don't care as i am here now. There is a whole faction who are crazy about breaking our own records time and time again. I don't honestly think the boys expect or require this of us, but of course they are always appreciative. I just want to be your bulletproof boyscout and shield you from any backlash within the fandom. Borahae 💜
