Just a little nuance here. As far as song production goes, Suga has said that their working relationship with Big Hit is like a music camp. They send in tracks or verses and get feedback. Sometimes in house producers tweak and change things. Example: When LY-Tear came out, RM did a Vlive where he played the original version of Fake Love and it was dark and grungy and nothing like the end product. Because the vocal line sings in such a high register, they had to keep changing it and eventually it became more of a pop tune. V (Taehyung) has also said that he sends in lyrics, but they are rarely chosen, because every one of them also sends in lyrics. So, on many of the songs, BTS does not produce single-handedly. The company works with them until all parties are happy with the song.

They don't produce everything. They have in-house producers and sometimes have other people on. Sometimes they are partially involved in the production. And yes, sometimes they are the main producers. But it depends on the song. I think what most ARMYs mean when they say BTS produce their stuff is that they do often have a hand in the process, but not that they do it all the time for every single song. Like Lucas said, there's literally not enough time in the day for that. ON specifically was produced by Pdogg, which is their in-house producer and someone who you can find in the credits very often.

I always see armys mention that they produce their music but i bet they don’t even read the credits at all, if anything the rap line write most of their music, especially namjoon, they have produced before but mostly their solo mixtapes, also when BH posts credits for their songs they list the producers and lyricist as one, so maybe that’s why people are confused?
@kadejahcrosdale8295
@kadejahcrosdale8295 3 жыл бұрын
@@jeje.6568 I would believe that that they do their demos for their songs then the in house producers refine the sound. Do remember that for every album their names are on all the songs whether major or minor tho mostly the rap line. So yeah you could say these songs are born from them first.
@jeje.6568
@jeje.6568 3 жыл бұрын
@@kadejahcrosdale8295 even if their names are there it doesn’t mean they necessarily produced it, as i said BH puts both credits to lyricist and producer as one, but when a member produces a song we’ll definitely know about it, like when jk produced magic shop, when yoongi produced autumn leaves, etc… the members did compliment them constantly during promotions, and do you mean the demos as in production of the demo? Or melody?

Ken Lewis was the mixing engineer for some of BTS tracks and he said the song Dis- ease from the album BE had like over 250 tracks. So I can only imagine. i understand what he meant by it seems impossible you havent really learned about their porcess in depth yet you just got some of it from the introductions you did. so they have this process where all 7 of them will write melodys, produce something and write lyrics and send it in and then theyll work on it with their in house production company and may get help from overseas producers writers engineers etc. so the entire song isnt just them but they do a large potion of every song if that makes sense. example for On it was Rm, Jhope and Suga on songwriting for their rap lyrics/verses. jungkook has credits for the chorus either the melody or the entire thing. RM has credits for rap arrangement, recording engineer. then they also included a choir from LA, UCLA marching band, jazz club at UCLA and some other producers and engineers one of which also worked on Danger in the past too. then theres bts in house producers like PDOGG who is credited on production, songwriting, keyboard, synthesizer, vocal arrangement, rap arrangement, recording engineer, digital editing. theres also some other song writers too ON has many credits. so this doesnt mean theyre just performers like backstreet boys or other boybands are where everything is handed to them. however they dont ALL work on EVERY song but each of them DO participate in all their songs meaning if 1 member isnt on the credits of this song then that member will be on the credits of another song. the only songs they havent participated in is their english songs except for butter RM wrote the rap parts in butter. but its also understandable as its not their native language. their solo music though thats a whole other story they do more if not everything they do majority of their solo music themselves so the rappers mixtapes are majority them but they will have other artists or producers help them out sometimes just for fun collaboration not cause they need them. all the singers are slowly coming out with solo music and writing and producing themselves many of them are still new to it and honing their skills thats why you see many cover songs or adaptations of songs that already exist not only for fun but to practice their craft before they release their own songs with them having to do all parts themselves. the way bighit has set it up is if you wanna release a mixtape or solo music you have to do it yourself or atleast majority yourself because its your work you dont wanna be given a song so it gives the members room to hone their skills then they can use those skills for group music too eventually. example V was writing a song Blue and Grey for his solo mixtape and he then sent it in to be a group song and that song ended up on their recent album BE.

I'd like to add that BTS's original Japanese songs(As in, not a Korean song turned Japanese) are like their English songs, in that they rarely contribute to the making of them(Of course, there are exceptions, example: RM's involvement in Crystal Snow and Jk's involvement in Your Eyes Tell), even their in-house team doesn’t contribute to those tracks.

August D Dewichita and August D were produced by Suga. Suga also produces for other artists and produces some of BTS's songs as well in collaboration with in house producers like Chairman Bang, Slow rabbit, Supreme Boi, and Pdogg. His recent productions include: Coldplay x BTS My Universe remix, Samsung Over The Horizon, and You by Omi. The beat used for this song's dancebreak was also composed by Suga. Suga is a genius producer. He would create beats and sell while still in high school. He joined big hit as a producer and was convinced to join BTS as a rapper. He's in his studio composing music and producing tracks and it's why he's sleepy at times.

I think that, although all these guys do a lot of production, Big Hit (now under HYBE) has in-house production team as well, and those folks are generally listed in the credits too. Also, I saw a video somewhere that they used UCLA band for the percussion sounds, and also a gospel choir for some of the backing vocals you are hearing. This was filmed somewhere in LA, USA. Also, correction, Jungkook is known as the Main Vocalist since he joined BTS at a very young age. Suggest you watch a video about that - Why Jungkook is the Main Vocalist of BTS - he does many of the vocal guides and loads of ad libs and backing vocals, and more. Jin is great but is mostly high range. Longer videos are Ok by me. :)

It really is disrespectful to all the many people who put their efforts in to working with the group, and also a clue that reactors should stop taking the comment section at face value. It's true that BTS members do write and produce, and some have shown exceptional talents at young ages. But we need to give credit where credit is due. PDogg is an in-house producer of Bighit music, and he has a hand in producing many of BTSs more well known songs. BigHit has several in-house producers including the former CEO and founder of BTS Bang Sihyuk. They also work with other talented people including international producers. We ARMY love to praise BTS and their accomplishments, they are so deserving of the many awards and recognition for their talents, but some ARMY need to chill with the overpraising, or at least need to learn the truth themselves.

Great reaction guys. The length of the reaction doesn't bother me, as long as you're engaging the audience. I've seen so many reactors sit and say nothing at all, and I feel like I just wasted my time.When I could have been watching the actual video and not stolen a view from BTS. Can't wait to see what you'll react to next. Thanks for taking the time to read this. 👍👍💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

In regards to them creating their songs-Suga not only has 120 songs attributed to him as a songwriter and composer by the Korea Music Copyright Association, but he became a full member of said association in 2018. There’s an entire Wikipedia page called, “List of songs written by Suga.” The man is ~prolific~

Members collaborate with their in house producers so well. I think there is an absence of ego to have the ability to work with such a large team on songwriting and putting these projects together. The team has synergy top to bottom.

UCLA Marching Band played on the recording of ON but it’s The Blue Devils you see here. The dancers are The Lab with the choreographer of this, Sienna Lalau, in the centre at the beginning. Others have put you straight about Jin’s position as lead singer with Jungkook being the main singer and centre. Although sometimes members perform on their own or in a sub unit you’re right, they can’t do without a member. It was a struggle when Yoongi had his shoulder surgery and couldn’t perform. They left a gap for him or brought in a hologram of him. They missed him so much. This is why I hope they all do their military service together. SUGA joined Big Hit as a producer and was given the task of producing early on. He was working through the night which is why he was always so tired. They definitely don’t have enough time to produce all their own work but SUGA does find time now to produce for others and has won an award for his production. Others have explained how their production and songwriting is done now.

Always delighted to see someone hear new BTS. This is one of my super favorites since I danced (hobby) for 30 years. Actually there is a documentary on this. Much of the background to On Kinetic Manifesto is done through UCLA Music Department. The documentary is spellbinding. There are so many pieces, that you watch with your mouth hanging open. Long reactions that have real stuff to say are just fine. 😁💜

About 14 min. Totally agree with you. They are masters at transitions. They blend the music so so well. It does not feel jarring at all. It all fits perfectly. Same with the singing and rapping and mixing both. They go in and out of it so well and flows in a way that just fits

Actually JungKook is their main vocalist, lead dancer and sub rapper. Jin has a great voice but he is their vocalist like V and Jimin is their lead vocalist. For the rappers RM is the main rapper, Suga is their lead rapper. J-hope is a rapper, main dancer, sub vocalist. They are all good dancers but the dance line consist of J-hope, Jimin and JungKook (aka 3J) and V was added to the dance line , I think three or four years ago. They are all really talented.

They do some production themselves (by far Suga has the most production credits vs song writing/lyric credits the most is RM) but they have a big in house team. Suga has won awards for production for other artists and he’s crazy talented. Here’s an article on the hardest to mix songs and yes BTS (one of Sugas songs) was on the list.

Of course they also have several in-house producers that they can lean on and who do lots of work (AND are credited always!) - like the former (original CEO) is a music producer - not a bureaucrat! Now he's back producing for Big Hit and there is a CEO that he trained in to do the work how he wanted to. Now one of their producers left the producing room, to do a solo career : ADORA

As a fan of both Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, I completely agree with what you said. I would say in BSB Nick, Brian, and AJ were the standouts (no disrespect to Howie and Kevin) and in NSYNC Justin and JC got probably over 90 percent of the vocals, much like a Beyonce in Destiny's Child kind of deal. Also shout out to BSB for still being together after 28 years because that's no easy accomplishment for a group. And all of them seem to be great family men with wives and children too. Justin Timberlake shared at some point that NSYNC was never meant to be a long lasting thing. He said they all joined the group with the mindset it wouldn't last forever and their main goal was to do their thing for awhile and eventually go solo. That's why when they did break up (even though it was never announced) he didn't think it was that shocking because that was their plan. He only worked up the courage to go solo after Michael Jackson wanted a song Justin wrote called Gone (which eventually was used as an NSYNC track). Justin said is there any way he could do another song with Michael because that song was already being used for NSYNC or NSYNC could do the song with Michael and he said no, he only wanted to work with Justin. One of the many things I appreciate about BTS is they aren't being told by Bigihit they can't do solo projects or collabs and the fact they all can put out solo work on BTS albums and get to perform those same songs live when they tour is astonishing. BTS is really 7 and I can't imagine it any other way because they all bring someone special to the group that no other member can replicate. I could be wrong but BTS and One Direction I think are the only groups where every member has a solo song with over 100 million streams on Spotify. And One Direction only achieved that after they all went their separate ways. That's why so many boy groups or girl groups don't last it's because members can't express their own individual styles and creativity. I'm OT7 because I literally can't choose a bias because they are all great in their own ways. Not to mention how much they respect each other and not one of them has as a huge ego like I'm the star of the group and the others are my background dancers. The fact that most of their songs all 7 members will have at least 1 line on them. With NSYNC and BSB (more with NSYNC) that wasn't always the case. I really can't wait to see what BTS bring us in the future and how they handle military enlistment. Will they enlist together or not? Either way I can't wait to see what's next for BTS.

100,000 subscribers.... NO TAKE BACKS. Lol. I'm looking forward to that. I love all 7. When a bias picks you it will be how they connect with you or how they have qualities that you admire, they may inspirational or how they make you feel emotionally. RM is my bias (leadership, focus, how he looks after the members, his talent, his mind) Suga is my bias wrecker and favourite rapper (he represents my emotional side, he's made me cry more than once, he emotes my hurt feels and helps express them). Jin is my favourite vocalist (He's the oldest yet had the least experience when he started, it's his struggle to rise that makes me appreciate him, his desire to earn his place. I know what it feels like to think you're not as fast as everyone else, I love how hard he worked to improve himself. You can hear this emotional side in his voice and it always touches me). Jungkook... WRECKS EVERYTHING. Lol. But not even kidding. J-Hope, Jimin and V are phenomenal as well.

What makes Kpop special to me, is that it takes from every genre of music and blends into this really cool thing. there is no boundary here. While the world is busy screaming cultural appropriation and trying to segregate music and art, fashion, etc, Kpop comes in, loves every genre, and blends it into something that is just ear candy.

Hi! Great reaction! I love watching people pulling others down the rabbit hole with them. You’re doing great! I read through the comments and saw so many people helping with some confusing information which is awesome!! But I would like to say not everyone knows or remembers that you’ve only been army for 5 or so months and that’s including a break where life put a pause on learning new stuff. Which is what you are doing every video… still learning and doing a great job! I was Army for over a year before I realized they had inhouse producers. The library of information is gigantic and it takes a while to get through it. I’ve been ARMY since 2018 and I still haven’t gotten though it. To expect you to know everything this soon is unrealistic, especially when most of us tend to rely on other ARMY and ARMY-made videos (who are human and make mistakes) to give that information until we are able to get to it on our own. (From Bighit/Hybe official sources) Fact checking is always important but we also have to keep in mind how much information you are given every video and you only have so many hours in a day. Plus, a lot of times people forget that reactors tend to not watch too much outside of their videos not only because they want to go on their journey with their viewers but also when they do venture on their own, they get yelled at because they watched things without them. And it seems…being yelled at for not knowing enough… I’m glad and thankful to the helpful and encouraging comments and also that they outweigh the others. Please bring Lucas back and let us watch you fall in love even more:)

I don't know about other fandom since BTS is the only group I am into right now and I can't speak for other ARMYs as well but for me, it's okay to have a bias. I love all seven but I have a bias. Although, it changes every now and then. My current bias is Suga and it's my 3rd time having to switch bias since I've became an ARMY and I've been an ARMY around April or May this year. The wrecking in BTS is so real. I loved a lot of songs. I liked a lot of artists but I never really cared so much to know more about them or even care to follow their journey. When I got into BTS, I feel like I am involved in everything. Like I know I don't have to but I WANT to protect them. And every little compliments for them is like my achievement. I am in my late 20s now and this is the first time I ever became a SOLID fan of an artist/group and I am always proud of them as if their achievements were my own.

Love the Jin appreciation, but JK is the main vocalist of BTS like how RM is the main rapper. The other 3 are considered lead vocalists. Suga and jhope are lead rappers. Also not all songs are produced by the members themselves. They have in house producers (like pddogg and bang PD) who are credited as producers. The members mostly contribute to the production aspects rather than full on producing. However, I think the rappers mixtapes are mostly produced by themselves.

The gentleman on the right is correct. Although and obviously a very talented group, unlike the popular thinking, BTS has a massive production and creative team behind them. Non of the members have a musical background except Suga. RM and Suga were underground rap artists before starting with BigHit. Jhope, Jimin have dance training. Jungkook did some singing and dancing at academies, Jin and V learned on the job. Suga does some producing but the larger songs like this one is done by a team of well respected artists. Some of the members like RM and Suga do the lyrics sometimes but again they have a team to write for them or guide them. The members are sometimes given beats, and music for some input but not for all. The true genius behind BTS is their creator and ceo of BigHitEntertainment Bang, ShiHyuk or "Hitman Bang". Before starting BigHit he was cofounder and producer for JYP, one of Korea's largest management companies. He was already a hit maker. This man is the true "brain" behind BTS. If you go through BTS's earliest CV, you will see a lot of black american music influence, something Bang had a love for, he personally did a lot of the producing for the earlier works. As the gentleman said, it is very obvious for those who truly understand the history of music that in order to have this very broad knowledge of a wide range of music, it takes a lot of time, passion and effort, especially time as in age. This is something non of the boys had. Bang is a graduate of Seoul National University, one of Korea's top and was very well known for not only his musical genius but also his business acumen. Bang created BTS using the same kpop boyband formula, audition, hard training, debuting. However, where they went different was actually a result of industry rejection. JYP and SM pretty much controlled the market in Korea and asia, and although Bang had contacts, Korea tends to be propelled by the top few. So Bang had to use other creative methods like KZbin; making their own radio shows, variety shows where BTS were the only hosts and guests. It clicked with their initial fan base. The fans were affected by their struggle and more than content with seeing only their preferred idols. Spread. The real genius behind BTS was what Bang saw in each of the members and their chemistry with one another. It is infectious and strangely untainted. It wasn't really their musical or artistic skills that drew people to them but each of their personalities. He groomed them and packaged them not through his vision but through each of the boys' strengths. He let RM be the brilliant leader, V the style and bizarre, Jimin the ethereal prince, J-hope the fun, Suga the enigmatic, and Jin the fish out of water. Each also came from smaller cities and not Seoul and so not jaded by privileged lives and attitudes. They came hungry; all of them including Bang. Bang had to prove himself all over again after having left JYP and became determined when his former associates blocked his way. What has changed now is they have all the money in the world, major wiggle room and talent from all over the world to create as far as the eye can see. BTS is a wonder. Unless you get a music/business genius + 7 super charismatic and talented boys + all extremely hungry + work horses + get along like brothers + all starting from the ground up in one of the most competitive societies in the world....we won't ever get another BTS any time soon.
