The history behind this song is simple. J-Hope is J Cole‘s biggest fan. He lives by this man. J Hope was about to enlist in the army and happen to get a chance to get J Cole to feature on this song that is why he let J Cole have more of the song than he did. To say that this was probably the most heartfelt importance in J-Hope’s life is an understatement.

And you guessed it right, the big labels are scared of BTS and the fact that they don't need their money or influence to conquer fans because their music is just GOOD and REAL.

What you were saying about suppression like "why haven't I heard of this? Why isn't this on the radio?" is incredibly true. BTS have been shut out by the industry to a crazy degree. I mean like they will be selling 10 times as many records (in the US) as another artist in the top 10, and they're selling out stadium tours, but they get a tiny, tiny fraction of radio spins, rarely get on official playlists, don't get articles or promotion like other artists. Everything they do gets stuck in this 'kpop' category that's kept separate from the rest of the industry, so unless you're already a fan you don't hear about it.

Cole, listen to Born Singer (live performance) by BTS . There are so so many songs, I just can't think of them all right now. But please keep listening cuz you are going to be amazed! Always watch the music video, if you can't find the video, watch a dance practice and if you can find the dance practice then the lyric video and then a live performance. BTS live is amazing!

When you say "how difficult it is to dance and sing while they record", you can't imagine they dance like that and sing LIVE for 3-4 hours in concert, and sound amazing. These guys used to do dance practice wearing masks in order to develop better lung capacity, some were singing while running, so they developed unreal stability when singing and dancing at the same time.

He got out of the military last October and just announced a solo world tour while other members are still doing thier military service which is mandatory in South Korea

J-Hope has always been a huge fan of J. Cole. J-Hope was a street dancer before BTS and he used to dance to Cole’s music in the streets. He always names Cole as a key inspiration. Just before his military enlistment, he got to meet Cole backstage at Lollapalooza, which ultimately led to this collab. He wanted to tribute his inspiration, his legacy, while also expressing gratitude to his fans. Hence, JHope is seen dancing in the streets and making the journey to reach his childhood idol - J.Cole at the end of the music video. It holds deep personal meaning for J-Hope. There is a video clip of JHope in the studio freaking out when he first heard Cole's giving him a shoutout. Recently, J.Cole gave shoutout to BTS again in one of his latest releases "Blow for Blow".

I think, what is important to understand about this song is that, in my opinion, it does not show J Hope's true potential. It is not that kind of song. I think he wanted to let J.Cole do his thing and show what part this artist has in his artist journey. The video tells the store of J-Hopes journey. From dancing to J.Cole music in "underground" to sharing a "stage" together. His verse speaks of it as well. But this is my opinion. If you listen to other songs of J-Hope you will see here he wasn't trying to impress anyone but rather tell the story and give the room to J.Cole to do his thing

If you are going to watch a guide, I suggest one of these two: 1.) If you want a short guide, then Boracity Magazine's "a guide to bts (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans)" is good! It's very recent, and gives a brief intro to the members. 2.) A longer guide is Taylor Mari's "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" -- however, it's older, and there have been many updates since she made it. She's working on getting an updated version out!

J-Hope is one of my two BTS biases, and he’s such a unique rapper. He’s a lot more laid back in this track, but his style of rapping generally is, and this is the only way I can think to describe it, “grimy”. He’s such a versatile performer. Thank you for watching BTS! They are amazing! Their fans called ARMY are every age, ages 5-90 in our family alone.. These guys are ALL MULTI-TALENTED yet remain humble. Keep going down the BTS rabbit hole, you will never regret it. One hint, please pause at the end of each video, as just when you think they are over, they're not. Some link together & most have deep meanings. BTS are currently all fulfilling their mandatory military service. Jin and J-Hope have finished their service. Jin recently released an album & J-Hope just released dates of his world tour. The other 5 will fulfill their service this year and I believe should all be released in June. heres the thing w BTS: their authenticity is literally UNPARALLEL! Their references in their music is unvarnished truth and can be layered like an onion. Just one example - one of my favorite MIC DROP verses in SUGA's rap is his "lawsuit" bar... he famously had a passionate BTS ARMY (fandom name) who would constantly threaten to sue him for being so handsome at fan meet & greets, hence the "sue me" bar. 😂 this has now leveled up to an infamous inside fandom joke of "marry me yoongi" (Yoongi is his real name) 🤣💜🔥 Then theres a whole intellectual level to their lyricism that brings whole academies and high level businesses to study their playbook. no joke. ex/ MIC DROP was inspired by the viral "mic drop" moment from Fmr Pres Obama during one of his speeches.

J Cole is Jhope' idol. They met the year before when JHope Headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago. The collab happened because JHope was entering the military. It's for the fans and on the side of the building it shows JHope in army camo and the billboard on the roof behind JCole says "it's my call" because he enlisted early.

On Kinetic Manifesto. Love the lyrics and the dancing. The choreographer is the talented Sienna Lalau who is also the first girl you see in the video with her dancers from The Lab. I just saw your first two BTS reactions and enjoyed them. I like how you read about them, then searched for their biggest song first, then their most recent. Korean men have mandatory military service before 30 yrs old. Take Two was for their fans prior to enlisting. Each member prepared songs/ albums/ performances prior to enlisting so you will see a lot of solo work after Take Two. This was their chance to spread their wings and work on their own music. Jin, the oldest, and J-Hope have completed their 18 month service. The 5 other members return June of 2025. Thanks for giving our guys a chance. You will find their discography diverse. They started from nothing, but grew with their hard work and talent. They debuted in 2013 as a hip hop group. I have subscribed.

The Industry tried everything it could to break them, to make ARMY leave for another younger group. But we're still here, 5 months away from their reunion, even bigger An article was written recently where an Industry insider admitted how surprised and bitter (I'm not exaggerating, they used that word shamelessly) they were that BTS was still the alternative after 2 years. That's how impactful they are in a fast Industry like K-pop They are legends in the K-pop Industry but also globally. That's BTS 💜
